There is a specific sequence for learning that I know and teach which must be followed to the letter, no experimentation, just like if one were to practice neigong. Break from the training sequence, and you risk harming yourself at worst and wasting time achieving nothing at best. You'll never build the foundation if you only look at sensations or self-deception from people on the Internet who think they know how to do it when they've never experienced it. I've mentioned in earlier threads, but for sake of convenience, I learn from the lineage of late GM David Chan and his successor JR Rodriguez (edit: and Greg Colmenares), and I'm taking the reins after the end of this year so that he can retire. I'm mulling over posting videos of myself doing it and some demonstrations with some volunteers from a local biker group who don't do internal arts after two of them shared their experience with the little guy who was immovable a few weeks ago; just waiting on when I'm supposed to meet them for this, but sadly, I have an injury in my left toe and so will need a few weeks more to recover as I can only do one-legged trials now due to mobility being limited and extreme pain after the nail got partially ripped off. Even then, I may just list them in our private forum on AG for members and then other videos for current registered students in good standing rather than for public scrutiny and juvenile remarks--especially given that a friend who posted faqi videos got a lot of ignoble boors making uninformed comments. Sure--but not for free.

From a mod who wants to prevent conflict and claims to respect all practices, this doesn't seem like a comment written with the spirit of respect or good faith. But hey: it's your forum, your rules, your opinion.

Criteria for identifying which Qigong systems don't mix
Earl Grey replied to TomBrad's topic in Daoist Discussion
Practicing Fragrant forbids you from heavy mental visualization meditations and abstract breathing--which the breath control sequence in FP would fall under. Fragrant is not ideal for hard martial arts, and FP can enhance your martial practice, but not immediately after as it's a purely healing practice. -
Criteria for identifying which Qigong systems don't mix
Earl Grey replied to TomBrad's topic in Daoist Discussion
No, because a neigong system I know of is comprised of both Buddhist and Daoist teachings. There is no general rule about what can or can't be practiced. Normally, you'd ask your teacher if something else you are doing is incompatible--nothing to do with metaphysical views, be they Daoism or Buddhism. It differs based on the specific practice and what you are comparing it to, not the dogma, e.g. Fragrant versus Flying Phoenix. -
The reason why a person who only has qi in his lower abdomen can't understand the WuZenPian

One of the perks of having our own forum (AG) is that I am not as attached to whatever happens here as before, though I pop in from time to time for various duties and connections here on TDB. -

And somehow, if I make a criticism, I'm the troublemaker--one of the mods even has the audacity to follow my posts and say that I always draw mod attention because I'm more likely to incite an argument (their words). A lot of "fighting words" here from everyone compared to what I've said on the matter. -

I find the piling on of @ralis not only unnecessary (and frankly quite mean), but all too familiar. While I find your responses to be natural reactions for protectiveness of members, wouldn't that same reciprocity also be necessary to ask him if he indeed had any malice instead of assuming it? This is exactly what happened to me before: assuming rather than asking and clarifying, then threatening action (and in my case, bans). He could have worded things better, and this is probably the only part I'll agree on as I hardly observe him to be acting with malice or bigotry. Self-righteousness, perhaps, but nothing beyond that. -

The reason why a person who only has qi in his lower abdomen can't understand the WuZenPian

I know a guy who does Northern Mantis and he can fajin like me. We don't use the same exercises to build up, but we have more or less the same level of skill, where we can root and someone can fly backwards if they make the mistake of trying to shove us or dash into us, finding upon collision that we are a mix of a rubber wall and a metal wall. By the fruits ye shall be known, but whether a man uses his own shit or horse shit to fertilize the seeds he has sewn, don't bother asking and enjoy the damned fruit when it's presented to you. -

A double date I went on once meeting the other couple was exactly like this. The Frenchman who came with his girlfriend talked nonstop, to the point that it felt more like he was giving a lecture, and he would get annoyed if I rolled my eyes or even raised an eyebrow when he would say silly things like, "The moon is an evil alien satellite out to control us and the true feminine is the earth; the ancient masters knew this!" Replying and telling him no such thing is said in Daoism, he said, "They are wrong and people are remembering it wrong!" But upon revealing my background and language abilities, I went from being "just wrong" to "narrow-minded and toxic" before he went around telling people I was "narrow-minded and toxic"--not that many people listened, though. -

It seems like it's using the Wades-Giles system more, wuming - no name, while jen is actually "ren" instead in Pinyin. Nameless person.

Thanks bro! Power does change a man. In my case, I've found this may be an apt comparison: If an old Zen teaching states "When you finally reach the top of the mountain, keep climbing", then I think of people who pay sherpas to carry their bags for them and at the top of the mountain, take selfies and then focus more on self-aggrandizing stories. I also think of people who have so much fun that they decide to try the Seven Summits and other smaller summits because it's fun. How I see myself is more of the latter, but I'm also the sherpa who helps shoulder other people's baggage when they can no longer go on, while teaching them and encouraging them to climb with me as well if they want to join me. How I live and how I do it isn't easy, but it's doable. Analogous to the passive-aggressive fake pacifists are those who say "If the feeling of elation comes from returning from the mountain and resting, why not just rest and skip the mountain instead of showing off?"and those are the people who simply don't and can't know because they have their own weird ideas. Back to training for me...and teaching.

This is by composer Robert Scott Thompson, who uses a lot of synthesizers. This one in particular may be familiar to everyone: https://robert-scott-thompson.bandcamp.com/album/antrim

Yes, Sifu Terry practiced FP when he had the flu, and even getting partially through the long form quickly made most of his discomfort go away. He posted somewhere in this thread years ago that he did this one winter in a corner of a mall and was much better. The few times I do get sick, lying in MHPearl does wonders, and long form and many hours of MHPearl at least did significantly help my covid recovery.

We call people who claim to know a lot of styles and techniques "collectors": they know enough to show off, but they have no power or skill, and most definitely no mastery. We call people who say that they know a lot of people as connections hustlers, because they can't get by on their own, whereas those who do but keep quiet will only introduce you to whom you need to know. Hard pass, and as for Ausar.... I think ten accounts wouldn't be enough to convey what needs to be said about him and all would be banned due to the level of abhorrence some will still never be able to fully state without going over the edge.

HT lineage is made up. Chia learned bits and pieces but never completed his studies and fabricated his master. Many of his books are no longer canon to him, but he almost never updates new editions to eliminate what he teaches in spite of psychoses and lawsuits arising from what he teaches. Good luck should you choose to stick with them.- 47 replies

Pre-empting his answer, look at what the site admin's own post says: And FYI: this forum once began as an off-shoot of the original HT forums. Think of that while considering some of the criticisms in the link here.- 47 replies

Took a look...and I vote nay. Entirely up to the OP though, as I will reserve my full opinion for an appropriate thread probably more likely on my own forum because this group is loaded with red flags.- 47 replies

If you believe cultivation of jing, qi, and shen can be self-taught, well, more power to you, but this doesn't mean you are right. If a person believes they can drive without anyone teaching them, without reading a legitimate book, and suddenly declare themselves accomplished and even call themselves masters, I wouldn't want to be on the road with them (and I have encountered people who did this and harmed a lot of people). If a person thinks they can wake up and practice law without going to school and think they can pass the BAR exam, I wouldn't want them as a lawyer. When you can faqi or fajin, understand Classical Chinese over Google translate, I might take your opinion seriously. ...But: this is a forum for discussion, not a school for recruitment, and you are entitled to your opinion even if some of us find it silly Here:http://taichimania.com/ https://forum.alchemical.garden/branch/zenbear/ and here: http://www.qigongchinesehealth.com/ and especially here: https://authenticneigong.com/- 47 replies

I have come across several variations, and the one my teacher gave is what he considers the safest of the 3-4 he learned and practiced (Spontaneous Five Animals Play). I know one other style's name he practiced, soaring crane or something like that. I don't believe in people who post free instructions for it though as has been done here before, as it leads to problems without proper guidance in the initial stages.

Chakras and dantians aren't the same thing. Too common of an error and a great misunderstanding of both concepts and systems.
