As Cleansox said, they [probably] won't tell. In my lineage, when someone refuses to do due diligence for their assignments, complains, has so many ideas about what internal arts should be versus what they actually are, hops from teacher to teacher or learns from ten systems at once, and talks about how much they know while begging to know more without humility (which describes everything that you're doing right now ), this is one thing they do: talk about the correct method, but show them the wrong method. This is a deliberate action, which requires two things: 1) the teacher has to know what they're doing, 2) the student/whiner has to be a disappointment or someone whom they don't trust to give the skill. Mixing practices is often not a good idea, but the caveats to it are if they have synergy rather than contradict each other. Normally, one must build a foundation in their practice to know when they can add or if what they are adding is detrimental. Seems like you're still trying to build your foundation. As I haven't seen Helen Liang, I can't comment on it, but in general, DVDs are marketed to the masses, and there is both misinformation and disinformation, the former coming from being taught for public shows rather than for skill or by teachers whose teachers didn't know or didn't teach what was good, and the latter a deliberate act. That's because most people who do Tai Chi aren't actually doing Tai Chi, but fancy arm waving. So when Glenn here explains it, people are surprised, and he is only teaching martial Taijiquan, but he has Tai Chi the skill and understands completely both the philosophy and has healing ability, which he will never show publicly. Bullshit! Rooting is a skill that displays whether or not someone knows what the hell they're talking about, and you obviously don't, either. Since you're obviously referring to the video of Grandmaster David demonstrating Fa Jin, you are making an unsubtle jab at him, which I will reply with a simple, "You don't have it or understand it, so it's easier to dismiss it as crap and call it BS than to work hard or humble yourself in order to learn it." Or, more bluntly: it's easier to call something bullshit and tell everyone it's bullshit because you failed to achieve what you wanted. Whether through your attitude (likely the case) or your lack of understanding (definitely a big part at least), you won't ever achieve it without humbling yourself. Big NOPE here. For someone who is ranting, you sure speak with a lot of self-authority. Seems like you've mostly seen the mass market crap. They are indeed bullshit because they're incomplete information and again, disinformation. Or you haven't encountered the people who know what they're talking about and again have made your own conclusions from what is publicly available that only scratches the surface. Many people who claim to do it actually don't know what it is, but look for results described in the book or others' experiences. You can have correct ideas, but you still need to treat them as a blueprint and then have the materials and tools to put them together into something. This is correct. The heart chakra, the physical heart, and the MDT are all different. That's because it's a rant. Marketing and advertising cultures. Most. Not all. Suburban yoga studio breathing is crap for deep level practices, real techniques or natural breathing are rare. Yes, natural breathing is rare if you live in the city. Ah, that's right, you came to troll our thread a couple years back without understanding a thing at all about the system and were telling people not to worry about breathing patterns and breath control. It's like an old English geriatric inserting himself into a conversation on a subject he knows nothing about and trying to make himself an authority, much like a bricklayer talks about gold and its value or Bitcoin because he read it on Facebook and saw it on YouTube, made a little money, lost a lot more money, so everyone else talking about something that eluded him are wasting their time because he wasted his own time..except we aren't talking about gold or Bitcoin, but our return on investment for our particular niche of, oh, let's say...organic tea. The biggest control methods are the ego and the know-it-alls who know nothing. This is about the best summary of your little rant:

Mingmen "Door of Life" cultivation for Dantien
Earl Grey replied to Goku76's topic in Daoist Discussion
Your phrasing shows you don't understand it as well. Someone claimed to be doing Zhan Zhuang recently, but he was just standing on a board. Other people claim to have learned it from teachers or books, but when I've seen some people, their Zhan Zhuang isn't even Zhan Zhuang at all--they don't even know Chen Bao, and they think ten minutes is adequate to get any kind of internal power. So nope--you sound like a neophyte here, especially because doing the focused breathing you're inquiring about at your stage of development having done your Mo Pai level 1 is only going to cause you more problems. But we all know you aren't inclined to listen to advice that you need to hear, but doesn't tell you what you want to hear. -
Eating Meat Will Increase Lust Which Will Inhibit Celibacy Cultivation
Earl Grey replied to Heartbreak's topic in General Discussion
I've actually worked with a friend doing research on such, and by and large, being vegan or vegetarian doesn't guarantee good health. A vegetarian who eats instant ramen is going to die a hell of a lot faster than someone having a grass-fed burger once in a while. The worst things you can have are preservatives, soy, and chemicals in your foods--sadly, a lot of vegan dishes are this way too. -
Eating Meat Will Increase Lust Which Will Inhibit Celibacy Cultivation
Earl Grey replied to Heartbreak's topic in General Discussion
Heartbreak, you really don't know what you're talking about. If you are absolutely certain of yourself, why post these? If you're trying to educate us, a lot of us have systems that contradict everything you say (and science to back it up as well) and some simply agree with your opinion for personal preferences. If you're asking questions, you probably could rephrase what you've stated instead of saying it as an objective and inarguable fact. -

Seems like youāve never done any of those practices mentioned or even done any research, let alone approach a teacher for questions. You should probably do that instead of posting to people online to do your research for you. -
Town Hall Meeting on Self-Governance for TDB Re: No Mods or Sean Currently

Haha I take it that the Akashic is neither something youāre familiar with nor interested in, and you havenāt seen the FAQ in my PPJ. Okay, so every individual has an Akashic record. Everything has one. However, aside from oneās own and other individuals (with their permission only), we can access freely the collective, the universe, and for anyone who has died, we can access what is publicly available like a library book, but not private information that requires permission either from the individual or Source/God/The One. At my level of skill, Iām allowed access to the heart of the records for individual soul, planetary, and cosmic consciousness, but I donāt have access to the big one, Metatronās Palace, which has the multiverse and metaverse. That only comes with mastery and designation in my lineage, which I donāt have (at least for now). Getting someone like Marbleheadās public record is his persona, but not the actual individual himself, who has already moved on. It has the insight of being free from ego trappings and seeing beyond our level of reality here in the material world of Malkuth so that we can have insight on what he would give to the forumākind of like an AI designed to imitate the personality of someone to convey to us with emotional connections to that individual and relate much more easily. Itās not him, but it does relay the information to the Source where Marbleheadās individual soul now exists with others as One, so it technically still reaches him. I have opened records of people like Jim McMillan before and am probably going to open John Baharudin/Ie Djie Djiang for my own purposes later too. Iāve opened up the records of Kurt Cobain, Satoru Iwata, Sigmund Freud, and Vladimir Lenin too, and other members of my group opened up people like Jose Rizal, the Virgin Mary, their lineage founders for Karate, and others that have yielded great insights for issues that we wanted to know about. -
Based on the rant that completely ignores the point I made (and missed it entirely apparently), it might be better if you had some chamomile tea instead of coffee! š

Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (ē«ęØ)
Earl Grey replied to ReturnDragon's topic in General Discussion
I did do it as posted earlier! our OP so far hasnāt responded to anything we say for whatever reason he has, though i suspect that itās because he has neither Zhan Zhuang skill from zero knowledge whatsoever nor does he actually have any balance based on a far more difficult test youāve shared! -

Shaking to improve immunity, prevent colds and flus, expel wind-cold pathogenic qi, strengthen protective qi
Earl Grey replied to Walker's topic in General Discussion
This is gold, buddy! Thank you so much for sharing this! Quite similar to an exercise I do in one variation from Baduanjin, but helpful and distinct nonetheless! Suggestion so that more people see this thread (and they should): rename it to something like "Shaking technique for good health/Shaking technique to help against nCov" or something like either of those.- 57 replies

Seconded. It is a fantastic skill to have and will change your life when you really understand it--I can not state this with enough emphasis to reflect it.

Actually, this reminds me of two things: first is the Tekken video game series: two characters, sworn enemies in the beginning, Marduk and King 2, fight with extreme hostility and malice all throughout the 4th game in the series. At the end, King is about to finish Marduk off in the hospital where he is recovering and on life support after their fight, when he notices a photo of his parents by the side who had visited and are wishing for him to get better. He realizes something and lets go of his anger--later on, they become friends because after the conflict, they found a strange kinship even if they weren't much alike, they found they were very much alike in other ways and became tag team buddies, mutually forgiving each other for transgressions (Marduk had accidentally killed King's friend in a bar brawl and King was hounding him to the ends of the earth for this to avenge him). The second thing I am reminded of is The Matrix Reloaded, where the character Seraph tests everyone he meets by fighting them first, and after a short brawl, says that you only know a man after you have fought him. In martial life, I've found this to be quite true--the people whom I fight both in a friendly spar or a brawl show me a lot about who they are with how they restrain themselves or try to show off...a guy who does MMA is constantly trying to muscle his way through and show how great he is, but when I fought him, I felt that his real issues were daddy issues, which then turned out to be mommy and daddy issues. His view of me was that I was weak until his friend realized that I was holding back to learn about him since it wasn't an actual fight, then saw I was trying to help him save face since it was in his own gym and in front of his girlfriend and a couple other customers. When his friend tested my actual skill offsite near a bar where we had drinks, his friend realized that I can be a tiny terrorist at 5'7" against him at 6'3", but still gentle and controlled. Let's actually try to go beyond amicability because communication issues here and personal shadow work tell me even if I disagree with a lot of things you've shared and the manner you've written them, the root of why you believe them is at least interesting, just like the Neo Platonic ideal of why we believe what we believe instead of the beliefs themselves.

These answers might interest you from these posts: 15. What is the #1 thing that TDB needs now? Image: Congregating in a mess hall, eating and enjoying Christmas and Thanksgiving-like atmospheres where we all acknowledge why we are here, we are a good community and family, share food with one another, give gifts, and appreciate that joy. We are all a good group who ultimately wish to be our best, but we are caught up in who works best in what context and who is right and who is wrong. 16. If there is something that we need to be asking that we all want to ask but don't know the words or what it is, show us what the question is and what the answer is. "How can I accept I am unable to encourage others to beware of things that would harm them?" Accept that we are here just like when a woman comes into the clinic and says her son or daughter was unable to listen to them. We are not their parents and we as parents are not the ones who control them (our children) or what they do. We accept them as triage and guide them as we are welcome to work with them only as they accept that we are here to help them. And then this post: 15. What is the #1 thing that TDB needs now? Hexagram card 16. If there is something that we need to be asking that we all want to ask but don't know the words or what it is, show us what the question is and what the answer is. Lovers

Hey G, since we're both amicable now, I am thinking of keeping the thread for the integrity of post history rather than hiding it with the disclaimer at the start, but I'll change the topic title at least. What would you like it to be or what would you prefer in terms of action to take moving forward? I won't be asking you to edit your old posts where we had conflicts so that they serve at least as a reminder to me or both of us that conflict can still resolve itself.

Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (ē«ęØ)
Earl Grey replied to ReturnDragon's topic in General Discussion
Ah, semantics: the fire escape of a bad argument. You were caught attempting to say that the balancing on a board itself was Zhan Zhuang. Then throughout the thread, everyone pointed out how it was not, as did your succeeding posts showing you don't know what it is. It is also not that hard of a "test" given that as Starjumper, someone your age group, can do far more balancing than that as he himself implied in his responses earlier here. You have no training to speak of based on your history of claiming superiority for reading Chinese and being Chinese, but the fact you have no TCM background or formal training in what Zhan Zhuang is, you're only digging yourself into a hole. -
Say Something Nice About Someone Chain!
Earl Grey replied to Earl Grey's topic in General Discussion
Hooray! We're all amazing! ...But let's try to focus on the guidelines for one person above you and one person you tag to nominate rules moving forward. -
Liuhebafa's "dance" looks different because while there is a particular set of over 500 moves taught by lineages, no practitioner, once they achieve a degree of skill in internal power, will ever have a dance that looks the same because they adjust the dance based on the principles of the harmonies and methods found in it. A shorter man in our lineage who is a master will adjust the dance to take advantage of his height to hit someone's crotch versus a taller man using those principles to focus on the shoulders rather than the hip when throwing. If a student wants the exact same dance, they will have to adjust to the task of mentally memorizing it while consciously telling their body to not go into autopilot in the dance to do what is necessary to adjust in combat and for their body types, level of skill and understanding, and discipline. To hammer in a point, it was already stated earlier in this thread:

Town Hall Meeting on Self-Governance for TDB Re: No Mods or Sean Currently
Earl Grey replied to Earl Grey's topic in General Discussion
Why not? This is something that we do as an exercise in our Akashic lineage for insight. People call their ancestors or the public records of dead historical or well-known figures to get insight into relevant issues. -

Earl Grey replied to Earl Grey's topic in General Discussion
As Nungali and i have posted comments from tarot and the Akashic respectively, one thing I like is pulling out the public records of deceased individuals. I would ask the public records of Marblehead for his thoughts on the forum and where it will go, but without his full name, this is difficult to get any information so far as it is concerned. Otherwise, based on what was posted earlier, following up with additional questions is encouraged so long as people are willing to ask and act. -

That IS the point Iām making! Even non-team or non-students who still root for USC are welcome to the same sports bar to hang out. They arenāt students or team members, but they are still welcome. Or is my analogy Bruined by the fact Iām from UCLA? š
-
I donāt get a vibe of intolerance from @Walker, i get the vibe of a guy trying to talk to his neighbor who loves USC football and wears Trojan jerseys during the Rose Bowl and drinks out of USC mugs as a big time fan who knows the history and roots for the team, but he still hasnāt had his application processed because he hasnāt even applied to get into USC yet. Not a problem because he is still welcome to hang at tailgate parties and watch them demolish UCLA at the sports bar with a few beers, and fun to chat with; he just isnāt a team member, let alone a student enrolled at USC yet. Again, heās welcome by me and Iām seeing Walker welcomes him but is just being informative, not intolerant.
