Love Shys, Involuntary Celibates, True Forced Loneliness, etc.
Earl Grey replied to Immortal4life's topic in The Rabbit Hole
A buddy of mine do research on this because me and my friends have been the exception to this in that we've dated Jewess, black, Latina, and blonde women without a problem. It was California where we found a lot of this "I don't date Asian boys!" nonsense to be pretty common, but looking at the average Orange County boy, it wasn't hard to see why someone wouldn't be attracted to him. Let us call him "Brian". A guy who was arrogant about how high his GPA was but a serious little Napoleon who wouldn't even talk to white people unless they were assigned to work with one another, and pining for a girl but never making any moves, hoping that being friends will eventually make her change her mind. "Brian" then hates my guts because within weeks of knowing a gal he was pining for, I was already dating her because I communicated the signals that I was interested--and this was to someone who initially thought I looked like a creep because she "felt something different about me compared to the typical Asian". I call that atypical characteristic a personality and libido. Brian then spends most of his time complaining about other guys, how he is Asian and how he has to have a good job and prove to some hypothetical Asian girl in the future that her parents will approve of his school and his income. All I did for the girl was say, "Hi" and it went somewhere because I was persistent, not desperate. I have encountered all sorts of women. I dated a British-Chinese model once who bitched about how I wasn't tall or cute enough, but every time I left her and she was free to date a guy who was 6'4", she would say that he was terrible in bed, or another guy about 6'2" who had a three-inch tool and no self-control, and beg me to address her problems, which, in all humility (and stupidity), half the time I did because as a horny college kid, hey, I get to score, and the other half of the time, "Sucks for you, girl." The girl who eventually succeeded her told me she had no interest in models, actors, tall guys, or the like because they are often too obsessed with themselves. She then told me a secret: the girls who claim they don't like Asian guys are actually waiting for an Asian guy to not act like the stereotype in their head of how an Asian guy is. None of my friends, whether Chinese, Korean, or Indian, act like the Asian nerd at all or hang out exclusively with Asians. We have personalities closer to Billy Connolly, Hunter S. Thompson, Ben Stiller, Chris Tucker, and Norman Mailer. This is why some of us ended up with blonde cheerleaders at USC or UCLA, one of them was openly polyamorous and his reputation somehow increased his "regulars", and the rest of us weren't even concerned with dating as what defined us as individuals. In college, the typical Asian nerd boys used to give me looks and ask why I hung out with white boys and black guys. I told them that those whom they were referring to (let's call them Caleb and Larry) were pretty nice guys, but the cool thing is, Caleb lived in Nepal and speaks Pali, and Larry speaks Mandarin and Korean from living in Taiwan and Seoul. "But they're just after Asian girls, dude!" "Caleb is married to a Japanese girl and Larry has a Chinese girlfriend--so what? We all get shawarma on Fridays and then go to Diddy Reese for ice cream after for a buck." "But duuuuude! You're betraying your own race!" "My race? Last I heard, Asians were not one race, but different groups from Japanese to Khmer and then even in India have different cultural groups like Telugu." "Indians aren't Asian, though! And you're only kinda Asian because you're only half-Chinese, and Filipinos don't count either..." "...Yeah, okay, we're done talking, and you go keep being yourselves. Asian women and everyone else who reject you are doing us a favor and filtering the gene pool by not letting you guys breed." -
There are lots of schools of thought for Zhan Zhuang, but for what I represent, nature is the best place to do it rather than before an altar. Nice setup though.

It only took a couple pages to see youâre not one of them, even if our initial knee jerk reaction was to group you alongside them. Granted, some people from formal lineages would raise an eyebrow with some things in your channel, but a dialogue between you all to help distinguish everything might be a good start. As far as I see, what I read is that you come off more as a chaos magician who employs some Taoist influence rather than what usually characterizes a Taoist magician. Some of the things my teachers have told me, such as Terry Dunn, can share some frightening stories about his teacher in Tao Tan Pai, which he has hinted at before in his Flying Phoenix thread. Also, if you are interested in a good beginner practice for qigong and healing, his Flying Phoenix practice is highly recommended.

Oh geez, Chia is a polarizing individual on this forum, but from a safety standpoint, even his own school says not to follow his old books like iron shirt books because they did immense damage. Chia didnât even finish his studies before proclaiming himself master and teaching both mixed and incomplete methods while proclaiming his own genius and lineage. The Six Healing Sounds are probably the safest thing you could learn from his work, but my professional opinion is that he is a waste of time. I generally donât put videos of myself on YouTube, but some of my VO work is there posted by my agency or the firm using me as talent. Any videos I have are privates for specific students, and I generally prefer to Skype because each student has individual adjustments needed that a general video just wonât do at all, and if they do use a general video, I have them use my teachersâ videos as guidelines while I make corrections and observe their progress. As far as advising you, I donât know what youâre interested in or enough about you yet, so aside from interacting here in the forum, PMs, or a Skype call and Akashic reading, every student has advice specific to them.

Given that there is a lot of underfunding for cops in UK now, it seems like seeing a cop anywhere where theyâre needed in some places is a surprise. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/06/world/europe/uk-knife-crime-austerity.html

Sure thing. It all depends on what youâre doing besides your chaos magick at the moment. Are you doing any qigong? What healing arts have you tried or currently employ yourself? The martial arts are not just beating people up, they are more of an emphasis on the arts. What I find is that healing before martial skill is necessary because it is more useful to heal and also gives more insight with the overlap of the healing skills into the martial skills. In Xin Yi, for example, we stand in Zhan Zhuang to rewire the body for all sorts of purposes, mainly martial. As a nice starting benefit, it leads to great health for our particular use, and later on alchemical applications that can lead to some mystical experiences, which Iâve written about before such as standing at a particular time in the evening and my students seeing the same thing with my face morphing into a wolf or limbs shrinking or enlarge in size and my hair color changing. Zhan Zhuang with my theurgical practices is also great for grounding my rites, so whether one studies Agrippa or Bardon or Crowley, they tend to become more sensitive to the effects if they donât feel them having greater effect from what I have observed in me and my students.
-
On similar note, I dress like a grunge rocker most of the time, so watching a Pearl Jam or Nirvana music video basically is how I go around town. When people find out that I teach martial and healing practices, they get surprised because I just look like a college slacker. When they find out Iâm also a writer, they get surprised again because they assume Iâd look a little more pretentious. Then when they realize my voice is what they hear on TV for some commercials that are aired in the region, they assumed that I was some Occidental of Anglo heritage and wouldnât have matched my voice with my face. But like youâve witnessed, peopleâs experiences here (such as with old scammers or pretentious members who have left) color their initial reaction and first impression of you (guilty as charged) before realizing that youâre innocuous and amicable.

Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (çŤć¨)
Earl Grey replied to ReturnDragon's topic in General Discussion
You weren't even standing in the ZZ position. If you really want to learn decent ZZ from a book, go find Lam Kam Chuen's Way of Energy and Way of Power. Otherwise, find an in-person teacher and pay him or her to teach you properly, but if you don't have any good teachers nearby you, those who are willing to train you via Skype or Zoom charge varying prices for learning, and it is not a one-off deal since they will need to adjust you constantly and regularly. -

Ordinary Mind Answers (my own personal opinion) 1. What are some things we can do as a community to positively grow? Look for commonalities and try to establish some order. 2. Show us how to manage problems such as i) trolls, ii) threats, and iii) scamgong. Call them out and report them to necessary authorities for serious issues. 3. Show us what to do when there is conflict and how to resolve it in the best way possible for those involved. Take a break and then listen, have someone privately talk as a friend to get them to do these and consider what the other party is feeling more than what they are saying. 4. Show us what is the nature of The Dao Bums forum and its highest potential. A great place to gather and be a go-to resource for learning and making friends. 5. Show us the biggest obstacles for growth. Trolls, scammers, big egos, arguments. 6. Show us the problems we aren't aware of or aren't able to see at this time. ii) Show us how to address them collectively as a community. iii) Show us what each individual can do on their own to deal with it. Can't answer--I don't know. 7. Show us how we can have a good eclectic community without letting misinformation and the misinformed affect the quality of information from knowledgeable students from lineage. Let the qualified teachers and representatives speak on behalf of what they know and let self-initiates be open to criticism. 8. Show us how to communicate the importance of proper lineage to those who are not interested in it, specifically the self-initiates. Safety of the practitioners and integrity of the practice. 9. Show us what those focused on getting along need to know about lineage. Safety and preserving integrity. 10. Show us what those focused on proper lineage and teaching need to know about eclecticism. Not everyone is out to become a master. 11. Show us what is important for everyone to know and understand that they donât know and they donât understand about the need for integrity of training. Can't answer--ordinary mind is limited. 12. Show us the same about self-initiation. Can't answer. 13. Show us what is important to know about the forum that we aren't aware of. Can't answer. 14. Show us what is helpful to begin a dialogue to talk about it right now (based off of answer to 13). Can't answer. 15. What is the #1 thing that TDB needs now? Moderation. 16. If there is something that we need to be asking that we all want to ask but don't know the words or what it is, show us what the question is and what the answer is. Can't answer. 17. Anything else the MTLs want us to know before we close? Can't answer. Akashic Answers 1. What are some things we can do as a community to positively grow? Encouraging connectivity, friendship, and openness. 2. Show us how to manage problems such as i) trolls, ii) threats, and iii) scamgong. i) A troll most of the time believes that they are martyrs who want others to understand and accept what they want to communicate. Some believe we are trolls when we call them trolls. We can compassionately encourage them to share as they wish as they may have difficulty once they are ostracized and emotionally unable to convey the things that they want to say. ii) Examine and expose the possibility and probability of the threat and the ability to enact it. A threat is at times a common exasperated and exhausted attempt to address a member's wish for them to be understood. iii) Compare who wants to do scamgong to who wants what works. Whoever wants scamgong wishes to be content on their current vibration or understanding. Whoever wants to move out of it would incline towards working a correct practice. 3. Show us what to do when there is conflict and how to resolve it in the best way possible for those involved. Engage each other when we want to understand one another. While we are arguing, all of us always aggravate one another when unable to understand one another and wanting to be understood first or refusing to encourage each other to understand. What about those not directly involved? What can they do? Wish each other well without agitating each party involved. 4. Show us what is the nature of The Dao Bums forum and its highest potential. Image: a fountain with benches in a community where everyone is able to hang out and discuss the things that interest each other in common. Image: An academy where everyone is able to pursue their interests without having to necessarily encourage each other to understand what are the same subjects. A History major in university won't have to take higher level Biochemistry classes, but will at least ask to have a minimal understanding of the subject, just as a Biochemistry major has a basic understanding of the humanities and general curriculum. 5. Show us the biggest obstacles for growth. Images: ChiDragon wishing he had authority and his video of him doing Zhan Zhuang, but it was never Zhan Zhuang to begin with; welkin, unable to encourage a community but always saying that our forum is unaware or unable to acknowledge we have problems, any Mo Pai diatribe. Expand and elaborate, please. Individual egos who are unable to acknowledge we have a lot more to learn or aren't aware as we like to insist we are. Why those specific individuals groups? A master in his own mind--any who have incomplete information who are intent and adamant as they are implicitly revealing we are no different. We could accept any intent to encourage instead of enable ego in them and in us. 6. Show us the problems we aren't aware of or aren't able to see at this time. ii) Show us how to address them collectively as a community. iii) Show us what each individual can do on their own to deal with it. Impartial isn't aware and empathic. Everyone has a comparatively individual idea as to how the forum is and what that means to them. A common cause or intent as a community is what we can invest in. Each of us would get a lot by asking how they want our forum to be--as how we are in this moment is a lot different from how we see it and how we want it. Taomeow has her own view, Nungali has his, and each have a different idea of how they both individually wish it to be. 7. Show us how we can have a good eclectic community without letting misinformation and the misinformed affect the quality of information from knowledgeable students from lineage. Image: a library. A library can have a lot of points to consider with all literature and subjects. We are drawn to what interests us before we are all interested in other interesting topics. Whoever wishes to be left in their corner would be best left to make their own conclusions because we are working in common in some groups and we are working individually in many circumstances. We are unable to enforce each other. We have to invite them to be interested in everything that is important instead of asking them to listen to us. "I can't look at romance novels even if you tell me that we have good authors" is a good reminder of how we are a library at the moment, not a curriculum. 8. Show us how to communicate the importance of proper lineage to those who are not interested in it, specifically the self-initiates. Image: each individual is interested in doing whatever they want, and as much as we want them to make effort and avoid harming themselves, we are as effective as warning labels and images on cigarette boxes showing the hazards of smoking. If they do what they do, we won't be able to stop them as we are unable to stop smoking. 9. Show us what those focused on getting along need to know about lineage. Image: allowing each other to do what we want is okay, but a smoker still has a designated area outside, not where we are eating or mingling with one another as it could harm others who are weak or susceptible to smoking. Open-mindedness and welcoming others isn't the same as safety. 10. Show us what those focused on proper lineage and teaching need to know about eclecticism. Anyone interested in dieting and detoxing and having a beach body wishes to be in that movement or with that diet which accompanies this lifestyle. Anyone interested in fast food and wrestling is interested in what they want, not what is always good. They can be friends with one another, as a yoga junkie and vegan is not out to encourage a wrestling fan and burger-lover to be part of her lifestyle, and anyone can see in what each of the two do is the fruit of their practice. 11. Show us what is important for everyone to know and understand that they donât know they donât understand about the need for integrity of training. Injuries. Anyone in crossfit knows this could happen even with coaches/instructors who are unqualified and have McDojo tendencies. Anyone who in crossfit is aware that they even encourage each other to be moderate, but it is also a major contradiction in the philosophy of pushing yourself. Any contradiction we are unaware of is a result of our interest and end result as being a lot more important than our safety. 12. Show us the same about self-initiation. Image: Obese guy doing pushups and wearing a headband who is jumping up and down and acting if he were a master of fitness and if you are unable to see how he is a master of fitness, then he is unwilling to accept any critique you have of what he does because it is his own business and it works for him. 13. Show us what is important to know about the forum that we aren't aware of. Anyone could go anytime and we do care and miss them, but we waste our time arguing instead of wishing each other well and demonstrating we want to be friends and we do care about one another. Think Marblehead and anyone who has died or gone away unexpectedly. 14. Show us what is helpful to begin a dialogue to talk about it right now (based off of answer to 13). A thread dedicated to saying something nice about each other, no matter who it is. 15. What is the #1 thing that TDB needs now? Image: Congregating in a mess hall, eating and enjoying Christmas and Thanksgiving-like atmospheres where we all acknowledge why we are here, we are a good community and family, share food with one another, give gifts, and appreciate that joy. We are all a good group who ultimately wish to be our best, but we are caught up in who works best in what context and who is right and who is wrong. 16. If there is something that we need to be asking that we all want to ask but don't know the words or what it is, show us what the question is and what the answer is. "How can I accept I am unable to encourage others to beware of things that would harm them?" Accept that we are here just like when a woman comes into the clinic and says her son or daughter was unable to listen to them. We are not their parents and we as parents are not the ones who control them (our children) or what they do. We accept them as triage and guide them as we are welcome to work with them only as they accept that we are here to help them. 17. Anything else the MTLs want us to know before we close? Everyone here is worthy. Anyone who wishes to learn is worth it. Thank you MTLs. -

Okay, everyone! Here are the questions to be asked from both me with the Akashic method and @Nungali with tarot. 1. What are some things we can do as a community to positively grow? 2. Anything else the MTLs want us to know before we close? I will post answers later. To cross-check, I will also answer first with Ordinary Mind, then I will open the records and ask using the Akashic. -

Balance test in Zhan Zhuang (çŤć¨)
Earl Grey replied to ReturnDragon's topic in General Discussion
I just did it. Wow, it really tests your balance. Tried it on both legs--left leg had surgery for a torn ACL ten years ago so it is not as strong, and the right leg was the same result. Had to hop up after the second head rotation, and did it anti-clockwise and clockwise to test. -

Whatâs wrong with choosing Siddhis over materialism including sex?
Earl Grey replied to Heartbreak's topic in General Discussion
Seems to be the case--he's exhibiting a very unhealthy attitude towards sex and the real issue here is probably addressing self-esteem issues and self-worth, then developing healthier attitudes towards sex and sexuality--and especially how he views women and what he mistakenly believes is how they value men. -
I used to fly back stateside and to Southeast Asia every year in high school and college, and as it was either summer break or Christmas, there was a bizarre coincidence that thunderstorms would come on the days that I arrived and left.

Last day to take in questions, everyone! About 24 hours from the time of this post is when I will post everything received so far for both Nungali and I to do a reading on with Akashic and tarot respectively! There's also still time to volunteer if you wish to use I-ching or whatever method you have for these questions too!
