Could someone please tell me the purpose of life?
Trash Filter replied to manitou's topic in General Discussion
This probably is different for everyone. Most people are happy to know what their purpose in life is. But do people really want "the purpose of life?" Wish i could know either... Can be safe bet to say: to learn from this experience is your purpose living here. -
I think I just experienced enlightenment
Trash Filter replied to TheJourney's topic in General Discussion
TheJourney, To cut through a lot of layers and trash: You are making your first step on the road. Enlightenment is a process, your are not enlightened. We cannot understand reality with logic games only hard effort meditating with a teacher's help for months at a time: where you are no longer perceiving things in a normal turned off human condition. We all know that reality is not assessed with the dualistic concept of being truth or no truth. So got to start more work meditating. TF -
Dejected about my situation in modern Life
Trash Filter replied to EastDream's topic in General Discussion
Normally, I don't respond so much to personal things like this online, but know that there are others out there that feel similar things. I am one person. People's desires and egos have grown so big compared to the older generation that the modern life which is the inheritance of these folk is plainly limited and even unfulfilling. Whatever you do, don't give up. Also remember modern life is the way it is because we all have chosen this. We can change to be more with tao, but we must remember we all depend on others to survive, so we have to work with the system that is in place (sometimes unfortunately). There's a reason why its been placed like this, and will come more apparent that- its for good reason. Lastly, remember- we are walking points that can manifest. So think in detail what world you want and i guanrantee you will help make the place more tao and attract more people on the wavelength. This is the prayer that changes things. TF -
New Interview With Chang's Top Student Jim
Trash Filter replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
Conversely, remember in the interview he was talking about a king who was stuck as a spirit doing penance because of killing so many people. If the case is similar for the spirit in question, I'd rather not respect that. -
New Interview With Chang's Top Student Jim
Trash Filter replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
I think one has to be a fool to feel obligated to a demon that is no longer alive, and doesn't catch the drift to pass over permanently. To me its so simple in logic, just like all racist decisions there root is greed, corruption ego ignorance etc. Its a clear sign of human imperfection. -
New Interview With Chang's Top Student Jim
Trash Filter replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
I would like to pass my respect to Jim and prayers to him and the human race. I think there is some old rumours that "white people" had the knowledge of chi in primordial times, but misused it. However the Asian people have not done much better. If you look at the west, we are predominately materialistic centered. It looks almost like we have had a restriction placed on us to be so out of balance and unaware, and we have forgotten our ancient knowledge. Whether god chose to take it off us, is complete trash. It is important that such knowledge is in responsible hands. Responsible people exist in the morally inclined common folk. Not the rich elite, nor specific colour pigmentation. It is clear JC and his spirits are not responsible and are corrupt and in greed. They also owe a duty of care to Jim and mankind! It should be up to a few special people to keep these idiot masters in line with the Creator's law. Bottom line we have problems with each other, but no matter what we are brothers and sisters of each other. We got to drum that in our heads. thanks "Warm Regards" TF -
imo Drew is a person here on the forum who often knows what he is talking about, and alchemy is such a mysterious practice to know any darn truth. Indeed, we must try not to focus on the intellectual mind games and try and concentrate on observing and holding focus on the sensations. In my own experience, you need to build a huge reservoir of energy in the dantien and this in turn creates a "pressure" at your disposal that will run into the gates in the spine. While this is happening you have to keep adding fuel to the dantien and eventually over time a free flow will start to be felt ahead of the path. The chi will naturally clean up all the other areas nearby also. There is also a lot of speculation that this "cleaning process" dissolves emotional blockages and karmas but I can't be certain of this. From what I understand the microcosmic orbit is an early stage of the macro orbit which is largely responsible for the natural human ability to project energy out of the leg and hand points. These are necessary for healing and levitation like functions. It's almost like we are in bodies that have been locked to average people by someone, and some knowledgeable minority earn the right to unlock this larger side of life. SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE TF

Here's a question for you. Does it matter which leg is on top? TF

Now that the banks have become some what more centralised, the next thing to do is create a war with iran and US/Israel. There is a possibility China might provide the nukes for Iran, all these powerful people in total collusion behind the scenes. Let's hope this is not what will happen, and if it does, try not to swallow everything you hear from the government and media. It's happened before, it may happen again Check out Project Camelot for some interesting rumours. Tao to you All SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE TF

Many people have different ideas of what enlightenment is. We also have to remember the distinction between someone who has reached absolute enlightenment ans someone who is becoming enlightened. Also enlightenment is often defined by our motivation behind it. Some people think the local grandma who bakes cookies for everyone and volunteers at the homeless soup hall, shows great compassion and must have absolute enlightenment. Some people may think someone who smiles constantly and seems to have their life in order has absolute enlightenment. Looking within our hearts, some of us awake ones know that this is not enough, and we all have much more work to do. This is the reality of the situation. It's not enough to have compassion if we do not have some major force behind it, the wisdom aspect. This is reflected in alchemical transformation and shows the signs, and is why we are on this forum studying tao etc. I like to view it from the old fashion Buddhist perspective. Absolute enlightenment is when we reach the omniscient mind, like a Buddha. And the motivation behind it is to help ourselves wake up, and save all sentient beings. The power in this state is unimaginable awareness! If we had all reached this state, we could have something similar to a utopia. Only problem is there are some selfish people controlling god's knowledge. But we are allowed to have atom bombs? Some of you guys know what i am talking about TF

For the people who are naive in thinking there are no secrets and that the valuable knowledge is not being kept secret need to check their reality. For example, Buddhist leaders openly state they do not share much and keep it secreted. Some of the Buddhist texts openly refer to information that is kept secret. Daoism, well its chock with secrecy. Catholic church and its Vatican and Vatican library contains many locked away secrets. Some of the compartments of the military even have access to this knowledge and have kept it secret, do your research. This reality is not intended to invalidate us, we just need to view everything honestly and will it to truly open. It's true that we all have the potential to completely awaken, but unfortunately just being a nice man or nice lady is not enough to affect absolute change of the path of ourselves/world direction (remember we need compassion but we also need absolute wisdom). Again i prove to you by viewing the condition we are/and world, you think psychology has helped up to now these millinia ? Buddhist objective is we need to become omniscient mind (or at least make some progress towards it) to cause some real change, just imagine if we all unlocked the omniscience!? And it is our god given right(so to speak) whether we be white or asian etc. Unless you are a master of the subtle energy channels, you will not progress much in transforming. Then you need to find a teacher who can let you know when signs arrive, and must move onto furthur steps, otherwise you will never know when to stop a method. And unfortunately, working with subtle energy requires work. It means gritting and bearing for years the pain of sitting/ standing in the special positions that coax the energies to figuratively melt open chakra points. No one likes to hear it, but its true, check out Ram Bomjan (Buddha Boy) for example. I know this is an internet forum, but please people don't beat around the bush with psychic power thread Last post SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE TF

I want to share a story. My Buddhist class teacher was asking his lama teacher about learning highest yoga tantra which is considered quite powerful in the Buddhist tradition. The lama just said to him, he is not ready and that he has a family to take care of, so he would not teach him. There are many masters who have large families and have accomplished much... What is up with this Asian/Western culture of secrecy? There really is this Asian protector of knowledge mentality when it comes to dealing with us "westerners." I wish it would go away, because as time passes the world/ourselves degenerate, with the same worn paths. We can only make sustainable progress on this earth by taking our consciousness into a fully awaken state. Isn't it obvious?! No amount of psychologically will help. How do we know? Look around, all these centuries. Yes, it makes me feel angry, but really brings me a sadness for the sake of all sentient beings here. It's such a shame. I feel that I'm not the only one yearning this. Perhaps the knowledge is a part of us in more ways then we think? Why whinge? I feel the first step for all of us, is be honest with ourselves, right now. Us westerners are traditionally very skeptical, and know for a fact that some of these individuals are using omittance or "beating around the bush" so to speak. No more omittance, show leadership. The truth is we have just as much capability as our eastern brothers and sisters, just as much compassionate and just as much wisdom. With the right teaching, we could take ourselves/this world in a new sustainable direction for the first time in many millennia. Just keep wishing and pushing it, prayers SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE TF

There is nothing wrong with wanting to learn psychic powers. It's as much a part of our body, as the ability to walk. I think it is kept under wraps due to its potential for destruction/money making with ill motivation, but largely because the people who have much of the old knowledge have selfish intent and are fiercely conservative. Hence the knowledge is dying out.

Brief Analyze of Buddhist Path to Perfect Enlightenment
Trash Filter replied to Trash Filter's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for pointing me towards direction. I always remain in this position regarding such topics. It seems we can debate on so many different ingredients, but what is fundamental is the meditative practice. It seems a lot of people are naive in believing we have open access to all the advice we need to be on the path of full enlightenment! This has got to stop. Take a look around you, and tell me we are solving our personal problems and the world's? We continue to carry on going down this same path for 1000s of years, and blame it on our weakness. But, it is in fact- we do not have all the tools at every average person's disposal. We can no longer rely on human level psychology. It is in our current unenhanced human nature to make countless mistakes. We need to change ourselves in a literal alchemical way. This does require us "sitting." But further then that, the knowledge is hidden. You can see the personal confusion in all of us even now. None of us know the way, and people wish to protect themselves. There is just much talk. Another saying goes "continue down the same path, you will end up in the same place." No more philosophical debate and scholars. Last post for this thread TF SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE -
Brief Analyze of Buddhist Path to Perfect Enlightenment
Trash Filter replied to Trash Filter's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the replies thus far. Drew, your response has been most interesting and shows much wisdom. It has reminded me of many things I overlooked. Personally, I am fairly new to Buddhism and have chosen it as part of my path, so I can dedicate merit in a worthy direction. I am in agreeance with you. The changing conditions have played its part. Indeed, full lotus meditation is essential for enlightenment. I also do believe that certain physiological changes affect the psyche permanently. I believe the east may be forgetting some of its roots, and the west is intrigued, and will want to carry some of it forth. SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE -
I have been meditating for a while now, and I am developing nagging back pain in middle of back in the nerve on the back which is linked to the arm near shoulder blade, as well as pain at the lower section. This is p$%sing me off, I have been trying streching, physio, prayers, swimming. I'm fairly young and fit, I cant sit anywhere outside soft because the country i live in, you become ant or giant fly food immediately. RAAAGGHHH Sometimes i think it's my karma, but then what!? Any tips?

Nagging back pain from meditation! HELP
Trash Filter replied to Trash Filter's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the help everyone, it has been useful. I use full and half lotus. They are energy blockages, I let the energy go through them and grin and bare. Eventually some of them disappeared. Also used backrest, not bad. -

The dantien is real enough. Just we have so much negative control on this planet that science nor mainstream knowledge has any inkling of it existing or any of its function. Reason being, if we had any comprehension of what we really are, there would not be any need of this mess we are all in. It's pessimistic, but the truth. Spread the word, and put pressure on getting such things out in the spotlight.

I want to spend the rest of my life meditating and training in neikung
Trash Filter replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
More pie how are you Have been reading your posts and i really can understand how you feel very well. Many people who have to do slavery on this planet feel the same way and are being inventive to find ways of getting less impact from the system that controls most of us. I understand how you wish to be able to just focus on meditation, and i dont think this is something we should feel guilty of. Nor should we feel guilty that we are not so much into society and socialising in certain ways. I dont think more pie shuns responsibility or feels he is more then any other. i think he just can see an ideal. However, be it as it may, we live in a different time then 1500 years ago, where we must all work to awaken and try to unite these worlds together. Where we could use technology to do our menial repetitive jobs, so we can focus less time being distracted into doing survival related duties like the system intends, and focus more on meditation and more powerful work. Indeed i believe by human nature, meditation like activities are built into our function and should be of focus. -
Boddidharma a supposed Indian monk of warrior caste who migrated to teach Chinese special lessons, was one of few who had achieved a full awakened state of the opening of the crown chakra. Supposedly Boddidharma had told his students that the lessons should be transmitted with oral tradition, as opposed to written format. What I don't understand is why would this be? If you have ever played Chinese whispers the message changes greatly with new listeners. So why was it preferential? Written can be altered and inaccurate too but still...

Hate to break it to you, but secrecy is exactly what it is. And i don't think it is wise to naively believe that what is known is being provided. I guess for some it is hard to believe that it is possible. For example Qi gong as we know it, is not even scrapping the surface. As for the whole safe sex analogy. What they know is always appropriate for a beginner as they work themselves up sequentially. Much like lifting weights or learning gymnastics.

To all- thanks for the responses. They have been really good for me, for thinking about and helping my mind understand. To be myself more honest and less secretive, i wished to bring this sort of topic in a hope to increase awareness of the issue; the secrecy regarding human potentials. Like many of you other energy practitioners, I also wanted to put forth my dislike of the will to secrecy thus far. I believe when we are dealing with innate, human potential it should be accessible to all, with the relevant precautionary measures, much like so many other things people do that can be dangerous. I believe the secrecy (much like Boddidharma's decision), has become so out of control, that much of the hard earned Earth knowledge has completely wiped out...Or the CURRENT individuals with the hoarded knowledge, and sometimes prejudice, have been for a great time, ultimately irresponsible. So i implore masters out there to ponder not only themselves but the fate of humankind and the generations to come.
