Training to failure has its place but its not something you do week in week out. Pushups are the ultimate upperbody exercise, it opens up the chest and lungs, strengthens the shoulder girdle and also works the core and legs isometrically.

Mythmaker, I believe that the 5 tibetans do work, thing is I have never really dedicated myself too them, I just started to do them again every morning. The only way too know if they really work is do them consistently for at least 1-2 years.. DC

Here are some free anti aging tips, 1) Do the five tibetans for 21 reps twice daily 2) Follow a Vegetarian diet 3) Take superfoods and Chinese herbs eg Cordyceps, Reishi, Ho Shou wu... 4) Meditate and do Chi Kung or Yoga 5) Think young, don't fall into the elderly mindset

Hi all started taking this greens super-food supplement called Vital Greens on Wed, basically this product is a greens supplement which contains 76 different ingredients which are made up of enzymes, herbs, vitamins and minerals. I've noticed the last few days I have had these anxious adrenaline rush type feelings in my torso mainly my abdomen, does this sounds like some sort of a detoxification side effect taking place as this supplement is supposed to detox and cleanse the system. Heres the link to the ingredient profile http://www.vitalgreens.com/docs/vital_greens_ingredients.pdf Its has definately increased my energy as I have been recovering from an infection which left me completely fatigued, but there is this slight anxious feeling, should I just ride out the detoxification??? Dan

Ok its all good now, this symptom has passed and Im feeling good, must have just been my body adapting to some of the ingredients..
-
it is expensive but it pretty much eliminates the need for any other nutritional supplement, this product has it all..
-
Its good stuff, loads of good stuff in it. I have taken years ago but don't recall any of these effects, like most new supplements just gotta give it more time to go to work.

Anyone read "Cultivating the Ch'i: The Secrets of Energy and Vitality " by Stuart Olsen. Looks interesting, I cannot do Chi Kung or meditations that require visualizations, I feel it really creates tension for me and doesn't feel right for me. Anyone got any reviews on this style of Chi Kung??

Is it a fairly easy form, or is it complicated..

Schizandra, the Chinese herb that does "everything"
DanC replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
I like cordyceps or reishi, cordyceps are perfect as they are a ying and yang tonic, really good for the kidneys and energy production... -
Can everybody suggest the most simple yet beneficial practices they have come across wether it be Chi Kung or Yoga. Im a big fan of simple effective cultivation techniques, I also hate anything that requires visualizations.. Daniel

Is Capoeira the Supreme Martial Art?
DanC replied to TheSongsofDistantEarth's topic in General Discussion
Capoeira is a great dance but when it comes to real world fights it will not stand up against Brazillian Jiu Jitsu or MMA guys, it will end quick and the Capoeira guy will be in the emergency room... -
Hurray for Australian Prime Minester Rudd!
DanC replied to Bum Grasshopper's topic in General Discussion
As an aussie I have to say Rudd is a better Prime Minister then Howard but I am still not sold he is great for this country, a couple of weeks ago in Parliament he used the terms "New World Order" and "Global Government", this is very worrying in my opinion. I also don't like the term Christian beliefs/values, Australia is meant to be a secular society with freedom to practice and believe in any religion you choose too. -
Check out John Peterson, he is really into the mind/body connection when it comes to training, his methods are all equipment free that can be done anywhere that consists of calisthenics, visualized resistance, self resistance and Isometrics. A lot of what he teaches has roots in yoga and the esoteric traditions, basically you should approach exercise as a form of moving meditation..

I take Spirulina, Cordyceps, Maca and Fish oil..

Sounds like low testosterone, he needs exercise and some basic herbs/vitamins. This my recommendation for boosting test and I know it works because I have a very high sex drive when I take these combinations. Maca Powder Tongkat ali, either capsules or tea Multivitamin Tribulus Exercise has a very big impact on hormone levels, so lots of Pushups, Pullups, Squats, crunches. Also meditation to clear the mind of any negative thoughts. Dan

I take the following Cellfood - Oxygen and Trace element formula Vital Greens - Greens drink full of nutrients Whey Protein Creatine Maca Vitamin C powder 10g to 15g per day - Calcium Ascorbate (PH balanced non acidic) To the person who stated that Vitamin C can cause cancer, consider reading the works of Linus Pauling. Also check out the website cforyourslef.com , to get a more scientific look at the importance of Vitamin C megadosing. Humans need a lot more than what the RDI recommends, actually 20 to 40 times more.

I rarely get sick, I have been around so many sick people coughing and sneezing and I never get anything, I would say I ejaculate 1-2 times per day, somedays I don't. I have also been doing the Super Brain Yoga exercises which are great for transforming energy from the lower energy centers up the spine to the higher centers, my mental clarity is definitely increasing but my sexual desire remains the same. I also workout very hard doing calisthenics, sometimes up to 400 pushups per workout, my physique is really changing and I am gaining muscle mass as well, pushups in high numbers are very meditative leaving you feeling relaxed and centered, they really do leaving you feeling very alive..

My sexual energy is higher then its ever been, I attribute this too Maca, the Peruvian root that has amazing effects on ones libido. I get crazy hard erections, I can ejaculate many times a day with little to no energy loss and my sexual desire is higher then ever. Anyone else using this amazing stuff, if not try it..

I found this book on Amazon which is edited by Livia Kohn and can't really find any info as to what it contains, has anyone read this book. Also any other books you guys can recommend to me on Taoist Longevity techniques, Im looking for simple straight to the point books which outlines techniques and the benfits of each practice, something along the lines of the "Complete System of self healing by Stephen Chang, which in my opinion is the best book I have found thus far Daniel

Arginine/Nitric Oxide is a very good supplement to take if you are working out, its great for energy, strength and growth, it also seems to help in the bedroom. In regards to it causing herpes outbreaks if you have the virus, this has not been my experience, herpes outbreaks are generally triggered from a run down immune system, if you remain calm and stress free, exercise and eat right you probably wont get many outbreaks at all, I believe Qigong if practiced regularly could more then likely cure most herpes ailments due to its effect on chi flow, internal organ health, blood flow, relaxation response and immune boosting effects.

Has anyone got any of Jahnke's DVD's, Im looking for a simple Qigong that can be done for lots of repetitions eg 100-1000. This sort of training seems to calm my mind and really get me into emptiness. Any reviews or recommendations will be appreciated. Daniel
-
Anyone have any recommendations for Qigong Books/DVDs that have no vizualisations, I have tried Qigong with Vizualisations and to me it takes focus away from the movement and awareness. I was looking at Spring Forest and to me the Vizualisations put me off, I just can't get the feel of them, I really prefer movement and breathing as the focus. Daniel

I have only got the book Level 1 for Health, I might get the DVD as the instruction in the book is not very detailed.
