  1. spiritual vs non-spiritual partner?

Thank you everyone for your answers and help. I guess it is better to find someone who has similar or close perspective of life like i do, which will allow to make our life smoother and with more understanding to one another. Also, i think it would be good for later on when we build a family. Just wanted to point out that I'm not making spirituality as a religion or anything, just a perspective of life and experiences. I've tried to fit in with a lot of people.. everything is ok, but when things go deep or a situation arises and you want to explain your perspective, I end up in explaining my perspective and my experience in meditation and practices and such. so no run from it, especially if you are looking to spend your life with that person.
  2. Where should I start ?

hey, So you are saying that nothing exist, it is all made up by the mind, even the energy that we feel on the body (during vipassana)? thank you
  3. Where should I start ?

Thank you for your replies ! Well i would say concerning the visualization, it is like using the mind to get out of the mind. in other words, it is like using a thought to stop thinking and be mindful. which kinda seems not logic, because. you are depending on a thought form to help you reach a deeper state of mind and consciousness. visualization may help, to reach a level of awareness and mindfulness but you have to let it go if you want to go deeper. It is like trying to swim underwater and go deep while holding to a buoy also how far this visualized chi or energy manipulation is real? and actually affect others?
  4. The Last Thought.

Recently, i have noticed the importance of the last Thought (activities, mind state) that a person has before sleeping, in affecting the next day in terms of the energy and mind state the person wakes up with and the quality of the whole new day. For example: watching Tv, drama series or something violent before sleeping, will make the person wakes up in a bad mood or feeling tired, Also this is similar to masturbation, thinking of negative thoughts or eating unhealthy food before sleeping. A lot of teachers recommend doing meditation at night before sleeping and ending it with metta of love and compassion allowing the mind to become calm and have positive thoughts. also it is recommend to meditate in the morning to empower your day. (usually if you meditate at night you are more likely to meditate in the morning and be holding that energy during the day) Also meditating at night allow to improve lucidity in the dream, which can be used in solving life problems that arises in the dream state or realize fantaisies. also, if someone try to solve homework or maybe do their work at night before sleeping.. you are more likely to find yourself more motivated to work on them the next day. So, What do you think?
  5. Alternate Realities

Do you believe that parallel universes or alternate realities exist? what i m saying that, some spiritual people say that all the possible action that could have happened are happening at the same time, but based on our energy/vibration/frequency we move among these realities. for example: someone who is poor in a reality, maybe rich in another one and all of these reality exist but we are moving among them. Maybe it is similar to those who can know their past lives, can see and maybe relive a past life? it is like moving the consciousness into another stream of reality and living it and going out of this reality that the consciousness is experiencing. What do you think?
  6. Vipassana, Taoism and Reiki.

what do you mean by heart level? all i know that the heart creates a magnetic field around the body.. but i m not sure how can someone tackle into it and use that field. but i think it is all in the mind awareness consciousness and such...
  7. Vipassana, Taoism and Reiki.

Hey! That is what i was looking for... what does the vipassana do vs the healing tao in terms of energy channels and healings... but you know in the course Goenka says that also it is good to watch the breath and go into your body sensations while doing other activities, especially while going to sleep. (enhance lucidity) another thing, vipassana.. starts with anapana which is focusing on the breath.. then you start vipassana.. which is about moving your focus in each part of the body and then you feel sensations and contemplate them.... so you want have time to get bored.. vipassana requires a lot of attention and focus on each part of the body until you feel all the body.. every inch. there are parts that have gross sensation or even no sensations at all... it means your awareness and focus levels needs to deepen.. and there are a lot of deep levels of awareness to achieve and sensation that appears and disappears on different levels... so doing vipassana and being aware of every part of your body while doing an activity. you try to notice what the activity or a word or a commercial or a song or or .... the environment around you is causing sensations or energy to arise in your body and contemplate them can you tell me what HT techniques are you using ? According to what you said.. that the vipassana does open channels in the body similar to other Taoist practices ? and also help in healing and feel the chi energy in a similar way to other healing Taoist practices? can you point out differences? cause i don't have knowledge in the taoist field. Thank you very much !
  8. strange feeling in head when in meditation

vipassana, Goenka, watch your head.. if there is a sensation.. cold, vibration, pulsation or whatever sensation.. just watch it, be aware of it, allow it to be as it... and don't dwell on it and it shall pass.. whatever arises, passes away... anicca, impermanence. Enjoy.
  9. Where should I start ?

when is that?... when i read this.. my hands started tingling hahahaha .. maybe because i m trying to focus to sense something...at the time you posted the comment i was watching a movie.. so all my focus was on the screen but was being drawn back to consciousness and didn't lose myself into the movie and noticed the flaws in it ... Also, i did 45 min vipassana meditation in the morning.
  10. Where should I start ?

yeah that is what i m looking for ... kind of meditative state + qi gong.... mindfulness no thoughts.. just sensations and feel the chi flowing... more feeling less visualizing and expecting, if you get what i mean.. it is like.. oneness with the chi.... in a stillness state.. rather than thinking i ll do this and then that.. and i should feel a ball now ..
  11. Where should I start ?

i watched a video.. different ones about the method you suggested.. but what i m finding is that it uses visualization of energy... like a ball of energy and such... which i think kinda little out of mindfulness ... but increases awareness since you are breathing slow ? ... i m trying to run from visualization because i know if i visualize something i can feel it .. like a ball.. and i want to be with something more real.. and less visualization technique. Please don't take it in a wrong way.. i m not condemning any technique but i know my mind... hehe I m saying my words out of compassion <3
  12. Where should I start ?

thank you! but is there something like .. do they come in categories.. for examples.. these ith visualization, these with mindfulness.. this do this .. this for that ... ? and i will check the book ! .... I checked the book and it's quite expensive!!! with Metta!!
  13. Consciousness and Qi

Well the thing i don't grasp about the concept of the Chi.. is what chi is? after reading different books, up to articles and views, even studies... Chi is everything.. we are bathing in it ... everything is made out of chi and chi is the result of us existing....a wall. table, water, book, pc...etc on the other hand.. the concept of oneness.. we are all one.. since we are all made of chi.. same source same thing.. we are all one but different physical manifestation... now it comes to the taoism and other beliefs... that there are different kind of chi? also there is a negative chi in the body causing illness... or overflow of chi? lack of it? even tho we are bathing in chi everywhere in the air.. i mean it seems like are we just judging the chi and giving it names? are we just manifesting an artificial chi that we call it bad and other that is good.. the other that is yin and the other that is yang ? and some use color to imagine the energy like teal or white to heal? But where is the concept of oneness? are we creating an illusion of separation based on our mind and feelings? or maybe manifesting a chi out of the chi that exist to serve a purpose? "The chi flows where the mind goes" it is true that when i focus on my hands, arms, legs..etc i feel vibration and energy.. but isn't that i m just being aware of the energy and not the energy is going there ? because a body can't exist if there was no chi in the first place. so is consciousness give a physical reality for the chi? could be that the yin and yang represent the consciousness and chi ? I have done qigong before.. from the beginning up to one finger zen .. i could feel that if i move my hands i can feel that it is like being in water very dense.. and i guess it was chi all other place and my hand is going through that it like a jelly water... like bathing in chi energy. With metta of Love and compassion <33333
  14. Consciousness and Qi

So are you saying that it is all is in the mind? and that the chi exist and can be felt but the manipulation of it and other practices, types and levels of it are just an illusion due to a belief ? what about healings are they just placebo effect but on the level of beliefs? but i have seen that a skeptical person .. and a practitioner that projects chi into the hand of the skeptical... and he will feel it on his hand or get healed (if that is the purpose).. even tho he is skeptical and a non idolatry.
  15. Consciousness and Qi

is it not allowed to speak about practices ? also can you provide an explanation about the yin and yang ? feel the difference? i mean i can feel the energy sparkling on my hand and vibrating .. i know this is energy/chi.. but how does the yin feels and compared to yang in terms of sensation? and does anyone have a link or something to all types of chi.. and how the sensation or hierarchy of them .. etc. a guide/map or something
  16. Vipassana, Taoism and Reiki.

Nice article! very informative and that is what i was looking for... deeper explanation of the process! Thanks !
  17. Consciousness and Qi

yeah so many descriptions... earth energy and cosmic energy and personal energy... i mean isn't all one energy since it is the same that makes everything exist ?
  18. Vipassana, Taoism and Reiki.

the reason for the first question.. have no emotions or feelings.. it is because when you become mindful.. the thoughts ceases and with more practices you reach a state of mindfulness and no thoughts.. and thoughts create feelings.. people start missing their old behavior of reaction with feelings like hearing something bad and start crying...people should learn what feelings are and how to feel.. and not react.. feelings are tools to be used and not just to be recognized when they arise. just giving my opinion on a part of the video with love !
  19. Vipassana, Taoism and Reiki.

yes this made me more confused which leads to my next question ! http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/41014-consciousness-and-qi/ hehehehehe <3
  20. Vipassana, Taoism and Reiki.

yeah, i would like to know more about the objective of such meditation in energy perspective and how it works with the chi and how it can be used to heal or do other stuff with the chi energy and how can such a meditation serve that path .. if you have more books or video to you suggest please do tell .. Thank you very much
  21. heyyyy

Hello ! I a new to here ! I came here in the hope to have some answers since i a lot of knowledge in different fields concerning chi and meditation and i attended a 10 days vipassana retreat by S.N. Goenka... which is a bit related to buddhism where they don't mention anything about chi.. but i have few knowledge related to taoism.. so kind of lost in making the bridge between them... so i m here to find map in this world of wisdom, insight and energy!! Thank you !! <3
