Samael Aun Weor, Aleister Crowley, Helena Blavatsky and others. Post about magick and the occult
Rakiel replied to Lightseeker's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Samael Aun Weor? eh. -
I find Vrikshasana to be a very stimulating pose. I've often read that this pose helps stimulate the muladhara, but in my experience it seems to really stimulate the crown and third eye centers. I wonder why this is? my only guess is that the hands above the head is some kind of mudra.

bumping this thread (again). I've been listening to Yan Xin's qi-emitting lectures almost daily for a while now. the qi transmission just listening to the audio is very real.in fact, just yesterday i was reading the yan xin book "secrets and benefits of internal qigong cultivation" and i was able to experience a similar qigong state.

Emergency situation, seeking advice (content may be triggering)
Rakiel replied to Tryingtodobetter's topic in Welcome
that's the risk when you follow the white rabbit down the rabbit hole, isn't it?.... that's why i took up qigong to get back into my body. as a result i was able to bring my attention away from the higher centers and into my lower body, which greatly seemed to "regulate" my psychic climate. -
The health benefits mostly, and I wanted to deepen my meditation practice. I also didn't like the buzz coffee gave me in the mornings. as for Oolongs, I normally just by some of the varieties available from Rishi Tea like jade oolong or iron goddess of mercy but i plan on expanding that very soon
-
I gave up coffee two years ago and have been drinking matcha every morning since. I've recently taken a liking toward Oolong teas midday

he does not break it down. from what i've seen of Wu's form it is only vaguely similar

i have the dragon qigong DVD...in my opinion it would be a fairly difficult form to learn from DVD.

Yes it does. Happens all the time on the onset of a projection. Scared the living daylights out of me the first time

I agree. after a day of thinking, worrying, speculating.. planning, hoping and conniving, etc. I feel just as bad as after masturbating -
Effects and Signs of successful Jing Replenishment

in regards to physical immortality (or extreme longevity) maybe the answer lies not in energetic practices but in external substances and diet. didn't Li Ching Yuen eat a lot of goji berries? certain herbs replenish jing, right? -

Drew, have you tried Wim Hof method with reverse breathing? reverse breathing isn't advocated in the Wim Hof method. I've never read an article that advised against it either, however.
-
Chunyi Lin recommends you breathe like that all the time, and it's part of the Spring Forest Qigong system. So that means I employ reverse breathing for at least 40 minutes per day. I have also done this on the way to work - I try to get at least 10 minutes in every morning. Just be careful because this breathing technique causes a lot of heat.

I've been doing fifteen minutes of moving yin/yang on and off-again for 2 years, inhaling with left hand going up, exhaling with right hand going down. After a few weeks, the breath gets really slow. Maybe 3 or 4 hand rotations per minute. The hands feel magnetic. The column of light that you've been building really comes alive. One time, my hands seemed to move automatically, like it was guided by something other than myself. I never break up the movement and do it independent of the rest of the level 1 sequence. I've always wanted to try it but it never got around to it.

perhaps it depends on the type of astral experience? were these OOBE's imitated from a fully conscious waking state? I only ask because I've had various types of experiences like this, and some where I felt caught in an "in-between" kind of state with limited faculties. And experiences initiated via a fully conscious exit I had all faculties available to me

Has anyone had a distance healing (or personal healing) with Master Ou of Pangu Shengong. Or perhaps attended a seminar? It would be interesting to hear of some experiences. Thanks

Are you practicing this sitting or standing?

This is a very fitting description indeed

I've had that a few times while meditating. When I concentrated on the sound it seemed to place me in a deeper kind of state

Where do you live? Some places don't have great offerings, some do. As a beginner, I tried out a Chen-style class. It wasn't for me, not yet anyways because it is pretty complex. although all styles are complex in their own ways. I found a 37-form class which is nice because I can focus on learning only 37 postures. best of luck in your search

Hello fellow daobums, I was hoping for some taijiquan advice. I have the opportunity to study the 37-form taijiquan of Cheng Man Ching with an instructor in the Milwaukee area. I have no previous taijiquan experience, so my main question is, would this be a good intro form to learn? There are a few other advantages to this instructor, namely that I can study 3 times a week; the school is affiliated with Adam Mizner, and there is the opportunity to learn push hands. Any thoughts? thanks
