Informal discussion on Tai chi, Daoism, Vedanta, Spirituality and enlightenment

Two handsome fellas ! Great convo đ -
I think it largely depends on our own nature, as the universe is part of us. My friend will tell you itâs out to get him at every turn! But I find itâs quite helpful. As above, so below.

I do agree that feeling the flow is a subtle thing, and can definitely feel hidden. The best way I can describe how I view it... is trusting in something bigger than yourself. Also using intuition, and listening to how things feel, rather than doing. Acceptance, even. Not struggling against "what is". These things ^ sound rather cliche, I'm sure you've heard them a hundred times before. So nothing breakthrough here. I've found it's more in the implementation of them, each day, little by little. -

Yes I think awareness plays a big role in it. Being fully aware and present in each moment, we can probably avoid certain situations that would lead to suffering. But many times we cannot choose what bothers us, it runs deeper than that. For my own experience, I've found whatever is bothering me at the moment is the thing I need to learn from / work on / sit with. The idea being that "God" knows better than I, so I defer to "going with the flow", rather than choosing. Life is our best teacher -

To me, suffering is suffering... yes there's different kinds, but they all push us in the same general direction -- to seek out the truth of our experience. I think that the "suffering through materialism" would (hopefully) lead to the questioning of the status quo, which may lead to something further down the line...which leads to something else. It's also my view that this process unfolds over days, months, years, lifetimes. -

Suffering is quite the motivator... -
Cool stuff! Squirrels are usually quite skittish, you must've been pretty relaxed for him to feel comfortable to get close.

Ahhh I see now. Thank you for sharing. Using certain terms can get sticky, as they mean different things to different people. With the practice I more experience Jesus and myself are not separate. (Fa xin) falls away, with it various obstructions are broken down. So yes on surrendering. đ

So you think that energy stuff is fantasy? Iâm not sure what youâre getting at. Can you not feel it? I respect your interpretations being different than mine. Iâm just sharing my path and practice, which is a mystical path, Hence the name of the thread.

Yes, actually reading the words are important. đ I have found that energetically connecting with Jesus, or one of the Tzadikim like Mary Magdalene or John the Baptist will expedite understanding of the words too. Thatâs a big part of the practice in many Christian mystic lineages. The practice is simple, to start off, One can simply think of Jesus and feel the energy, let it work through you. Try to get close energetically. Such a practice would be easy to someone who has done previous energy work like Reiki or qigong. If one does this with a sincere and open heart, they will find much information is imparted without even opening a book. đ Cheers!

Hopefully not fat roasted rat .... though it might be good, I don't know... -
Great to hear Yes many traditions view all things as a dance of energy, even thoughts. It is quite a new way to look at things when it first happens, it is a fun exploration.

To me, there is a level of faith and belief involved, because as one has not "remembered", one must suspend disbelief, and be open to such a movement of Spirit occuring. Further, Jesus says in many places that it's not him but the Father's Will ... which is quite different than Law of Attraction. "And Jesus answered them, âHave faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, âBe taken up and thrown into the sea,â and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." -Mark 11:22-24 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephisians 2:8-9 "For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

âTherefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.â Matthew 6:31-33

You said when you focus on yourself you feel good, there it is! "Holding space" is just that, as we cannot help others if we are pulled into whatever with them. I think many good intentioned people try to send out love to help people... nothing wrong with that. But the art of receiving the negative is difficult or holding space is difficult for people to not get pulled in themselves.

Good question. I use a longer steep but smaller amount of leaves. Maybe 45-60 seconds but only use 2-3g. The oolongs donât do it as much as the pu erh. Pu-erh has been said to have a low caffeine amount, but I found if you steep for too long the caffeine in it can be very high. I also found itâs a very earthy tea, which could account for the sleepiness.

Very interesting article. Thanks for the info. đ

Interesting stuff. Thanks đ So you take these signs as enlightenment too?

Would you mind sharing the signs that you would look for?
