  2. Are All Our Assumptions Wrong?

Even if its the complete and ultimate enlightened truth of the universe... ...no one is going to believe me.

  4. Yes I do work with energy, just not like the MCO. I prefer to let the energy circulate by itself, without me consciously directing it or forcing it to move a certain way.
  5. Getting our Meditation off the mat

One of my favorite quotes "Sometimes people misunderstand the principle of "not-correcting" anything in Dzogchen and they allow themselves to become distracted. But the practice of Dzogchen means that one learns to relax whilst all the time maintaining one's presence in whatever circumstances one finds oneself in." Chogyal Namkhai Norbu The Self Perfected Sate
  6. Getting our Meditation off the mat

On one hand, I do completely agree with you - feeling is huge, it's the best way to get out of our head. The way one feels a great song they enjoy, or the way one feels driving a car on a summer night with the windows down. Yes! Totally! On the other hand, if I am paying attention to something... let's say I'm washing the dishes. To notice how I'm feeling at that moment will distract me from the task, and it is easy to get lost from there. The next day, my girlfriend is complaining how her coffee tastes like detergent. To break down my practice a little bit more... Let's say I'm washing dishes and I'm off in la-la land, thinking about yesterday's dinner. I notice this, and I start to pay attention to washing the dishes. Pretty soon, after maybe 30 seconds, I will start to feel a very calm, peaceful energy come over me. My mind is quiet, colors are brighter and everything is vivid. This is the presence I relax into and reside in....... until tomorrow's breakfast pops into my head and I start the whole process over again.
  7. Cosmic Oddities

What are the odds that the moon was captured into Earthā€™s orbit in the exact location that it eclipses the sun perfectly?
  8. Do you exercise at all? Ive found an hour of brisk walking can benefit you much more than standing still and waving the arms. Not to sound like a brute or insult to Qigong. But the more movement the better. And Iā€™ve been standing still and waving my arms for many years. It has its place but should not replace actual movement exercise...
  9. Getting our Meditation off the mat

for me, itā€™s just paying attention to what Iā€™m doing. Nothing more than that. I donā€™t encourage my mind to play with itself or watch it play with itself. Best to stick to and merge with whatever Iā€™m doing.
  10. Glad I am here :)

  11. Thanks, I did not know that happened with John of God. I am only vaguely familiar with him, but a friend of mine's wife goes down every year to see him. It's my belief that if a Guru is truly bringing Light, the "powers of the world" will make it hard for them to reach a massive audience. There are a few exceptions, of course. But just think of Jesus and the pharisees... that is still happening today. Though the light still finds its way from the inside out, not through media or crowds of followers. Jesus said, "The Pharisees and the scholars have taken the keys of knowledge and have hidden them. They have not entered nor have they allowed those who want to enter to do so. As for you, be as sly as snakes and as simple as doves." -Gospel of Thomas verse 39
  12. Close encounters of the Fourth kind

Here I was, thinking dwai had an alien encounter to share... Don't tease me ... !
  13. Tulsi (Holy Basil)

Thatā€™s awesome. Where do you get yours? ive just been drinking the store bought kind (organic India brand), which have a mixture of the 3 leafs and flavoring options too. Not quite as mystical as growing it or getting it from a temple...šŸ˜Š ill have to look into the different kinds of leaves ... the one I have says Krishna, Vana and Rama. Wonder what the difference is
  14. Tulsi (Holy Basil)

I think I actually have a pair too. Very light weight wood yes? Almost feels like cork.
  15. Tulsi (Holy Basil)

How long do they take to grow?
  16. Tulsi (Holy Basil)

Thanks siva. That is really cool. Maybe I can grow them in the summer time here. I would love to get my hands on some fresh leaves! Iā€™ll look into that šŸ‘
  17. Gospel of Thomas

I like that view. I was thinking more ā€œthe one who made the inside also made the outsideā€ to mean how heaven and earth roll up together. Like they arenā€™t as separate as we think.
  18. Gospel of Thomas

Good one. It also made me think of this 89. Jesus said, "Why do you wash the outside of the cup? Don't you understand that the one who made the inside is also the one who made the outside?"
  19. Gospel of Thomas

This reminds me of verse 22, GOT... ā€œwhen you make the inner like the outer, and the outer like the innerā€
  20. Gospel of Thomas

Very good question. None that I can think of. Maybe I put my own spin on that one. šŸ˜Š
  21. Gospel of Thomas

The last 2 lines in this verse is stuff weā€™ve covered in other verses, such as Verse 1. What interests me is the ā€œheavens and earth will roll up in your presenceā€ line. Anyone have any interpretations or ideas? It makes me think of the illusory nature of the world. Or from verse 2 ā€œthey will marvel, and will reign over allā€
  22. I'm just glad I don't have to make a choice like that. But my answer would have to happen in the moment. I could not say whether I would or would not, until the very moment that it happens. I think there's a third way out ... a helicopter maybe
  23. Thereā€™s an old Jewish story of God going to bless a child. The angels come to God and say, ā€œWhy are you going to bless this child? We have seen through time, to what he will do in the future. Heā€™s going to persecute and slaughter your children. He will do awful things.ā€ God replies to the angels, ā€œThatā€™s not who he is today. Today he is a child, today he will be blessed. Do not judge him for things he has not yet done.ā€
