  1. Weapons training with PVC pipe

PVC is a cool idea. Cheap and about the same size. I train with Rattan sticks, probably a throwback from my Escrima days. Rattan is cool because its flexible but also super strong, as the wood is fibrous. Relatively cheap too

  4. The Evolution of a spiritual douche bag

I agree here... lots of muck to sift through in the "spiritual" community ! yet we also have to recognize the different stages people are in. for a "true seeker", they will see through the cheap and shallow facade that many "teachers" put on. and maybe for others, the teacher is providing some thing they need. who am i to say what is right for someone else. A Holy Man stands before me ... if I look at him as a normal man, I receive normal blessings. If I look at him as a fool, I will receive the blessings of a fool. If I look at him as God, I will receive the blessings of God....... .... in other words, a teacher is a mirror for us.

  8. The Evolution of a spiritual douche bag

There is no “i” in unconditional love. There can be discernment and still be love... I think the idea of unconditional love as being a doormat is not accurate.
  9. Very odd! And cool too. The mysteries of the unseen world never fail to intrigue me. Yes, red eyes would probably freak me out too! Do you feel he was aware you saw him?

  11. Watching My Thoughts Because of Blue Balls

Poor Johnny is just looking for a way to fix his mind. Can’t blame him for checking out Buddhism. Society/school shows Johnny how to turn on his mind but not how to turn it off (or even that it can be turned off).
  12. i was told by a Jewish mystic once that these shadow beings are the “watchers” ... that they record humans reactions to negative stuff like trauma or trials. This particular idea would make sense as far as the “being drawn to negative energy” but not feeling negative themselves. If you don’t mind me asking, in regards to this theory, you going thru any sort of Major life event or hard times perhaps? It’s a cool theory but the jury is out... thought I’d share though!
  13. Such a fun thread! I enjoy reading stuff like this. Bruce I would ask you - what do you think or feel this thing was? You said it didn’t feel negative. What else did you feel from it? Was it watching you? Did it have anything to do with the dream you were having? Share your own theories about what *this one* was, just for fun. What does your intuition say?
  14. Gospel of Thomas

This also reminds me of verse 33, 33. Jesus said, "What you will hear in your ear, in the other ear proclaim from your rooftops. After all, no one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, nor does one put it in a hidden place. Rather, one puts it on a lampstand so that all who come and go will see its light."

  21. Gospel of Thomas

Thank you so much for sharing! Had not thought of it in that way. So that mastery in other endeavours (mundane or external) can be traced back to spiritual achievement? Like the two are linked?
  22. Gospel of Thomas

Thanks Jeff. This was my view also. The more you share, the more it grows and comes back to you.
  23. The Complete System

The very word system to me seems like a confining view or limiting views based on the system itself. In order to be complete it would have to be limitless and ever changing.
  24. Gospel of Thomas

This concept has been on my mind lately. Someone is rich yet doesn't know it, and they live like they are poor. But once the treasure is found, it is shared with all. Anybody have any idea why it’s said the treasure is “lent at interest”? 😊
