Activities to Cultivate Positive Emotions to achieve Samadhi concentration awareness
Fa Xin replied to 2ndchance's topic in General Discussion
Maybe the ideas of love and bliss is what freeform means? The concepts therein. But i agree, no way to really get rid of love... -
Your welcome. Do you read the Dao De Ching a lot? Or are you into other aspects of Daoism?

109. Jesus said, "The (Father's) kingdom is like a person who had a treasure hidden in his field but did not know it. And [when] he died he left it to his [son]. The son [did] not know about it either. He took over the field and sold it. The buyer went plowing, [discovered] the treasure, and began to lend money at interest to whomever he wished."

Hello, sl23, and welcome. Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go. Please take the time to read the post pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum Terms and Rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until youâve posted fifteen times in the forums, youâll be a âJunior Bumâ with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Fa Xin and the TDB team Welcome sl23, To answer your question, I don't think the world is flat. I've never personally seen it from space though, so there is a chance it is indeed, flat. But I would say, all signs point to spherical. As to your other questions - there are many threads and discussions about qigong and the authenticity of things. I'd say it's a mixture of research and intuition regarding a style or teacher. Enjoy! You are welcome to jump right in to the ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forum to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started. May you enjoy your time here. Fa Xin

All I can say - that won't fill a book - is that Taoism can be applied to any situation, by anyone. Taoism is found inside yourself, not outside... so can be applied anywhere at anytime. Activities to Cultivate Positive Emotions to achieve Samadhi concentration awareness
Fa Xin replied to 2ndchance's topic in General Discussion
Hi 2ndchance, Great topic! You seem like your asking the right questions and on the right track. Our true nature is love ... a universal love that like the sun- shines on everyone. Rather than making it happen with emotions, the way I do it is to Be still, be present in the moment... and I find the love and peace comes out on its own. We have to get out of our own way (stop effort) and it comes out by itself. Think of a pond. When the pond is still, the dirt settles to the bottom and the water becomes clear. But when you do a bunch of stuff, it kicks up mud and dirt and the water becomes dirty. Just try to be still and see if the water becomes clear on its own. -
Protection against the misuse of Chi

The best thing to do is empower yourself. Place your faith/trust in God or some divine being you vibe with. They are more powerful than him! The more you think about this guy and the experience, the more fuel you give the connection. Go outside, enjoy the day. Take yourself and friends out and laugh, have a good time. Feel sorry for this poor old fool, and wish him the best as you leave him behind. The change has to start with you. This guy only has as much power as you give him. Shift your focus to something else Good luck -
Congrats, and thank you for sharing

I thought the full moon was when all the craziness happened. If you watch the news, it seems the craziness is constant, all month long... This is sure to be a depressing topic lol

Agreed, it is surely a mutual and essential one! I have heard it called different things. The practice of Contemplation in Dzogchen. Iâve never had a name for it myself. Iâve also heard it called Primordial Meditation in Mystical Christian circles. To See as God, to feel as God. Iâve always just called it Residing, as to me that word captures the essence of the practice. I am also a native English speaker, from the United States. I do like the term Primordial meditation, though, because it points to something that is basic and essential in every one of us - perhaps even the natural way we are intended to be. It points to something that is so natural for humans to do, yet is so hard for us to grasp at first. After a while, it seems the practice becomes our normal everyday being. It happens most of the time for me. Quite interesting, indeed! Lovely chat. Iâm glad to have you here. đ

Hi Sora, Yes, the part about âwitness energy and emotion flowâ and not intentionally clearing is the same as my practice, more or less. I donât call it Juezhi, but I have a feeling itâs the same thing. đ ive found the more I let go and just reside, the more blockages get cleared. Itâs counter intuitive, but works best for me.

Imagination - There's a Reason For it!
Fa Xin replied to Patrick Brown's topic in General Discussion
Many years ago I remember reading something - canât remember if it was Confucius or Daoist ... but it basically said âPeople should live away from society but not away from people.â At the time, a rebellious pre-teen, I was all about that! Growing up we are told not to daydream, to focus on our work and told our imaginations are not real. Itâs too bad. A friend recently asked me if my spiritual practices âmake me more creativeâ. I replied that wasnât a goal of mine. Maybe I should take up painting. Good post PB! -
One of my favorite verses... describes a light transmission.
