I think there's both. I have the ability to walk to my kitchen and cook some pasta, if I choose. But I am also here, now, where pasta is a thing, and I have the means to cook it. One of those I control, the other I did not control.

Even if I were to tell you itâs all a game, would it change anything? Iâm just a random dude on a forum. And even if you did believe me, it doesnât mean you realize it on an experiential level. It would just be a belief, which is nothing more than a mind story. For those who get a peak at the source code, I think they still have to play the game.

Also a good one! Whatâs your take on it SW?

It can be a big change, especially when we are used to living a certain way and our practice changes how that is. Strange indeed. I think your last line sums it up - "Relax, let it happen" Good stuff !

Nice part of that verse for sure. I think the heavens passing away means that we are always unfolding new parts of ourselves (new parts of God.) Big shifts that happen within, but the divine shifts with it. New turnings and evolutions. Agreed that the âdead are not alive, living will not dieâ means waking up to âthe soulâ which lies underneath everything. I also think that realizing âthe soulâ allows one to live fully and not worry about the small stuff. One is able to love unconditionally. Hence the dead being ânot aliveâ line.

To me, Meditation is done with the heart/soul, so my body position is unimportant. But it depends on what your practice is. If I were to walk into a Zen sesshin and bring my recliner chair, I'm not sure that would go over well

What happens . . . if Chi is directed into the 3rd eye (?)
Fa Xin replied to Lataif's topic in Daoist Discussion
What kind of energetic experience is it? Can you describe what happens with you? -
Praying and fasting is a sign that you believe you lack something, or that your wrong or impure in some way. It is separateness from God. When the "groom" (presence of God) is in your heart (bridal suite), you don't need to do anything. You are one with the spirit. It is when this presence departs, do you feel the need to fast and pray to try and get it back. This is one of my favorite topics of the Gospels.
-
104. They said to Jesus, "Come, let us pray today, and let us fast." Jesus said, "What sin have I committed, or how have I been undone? Rather, when the groom leaves the bridal suite, then let people fast and pray."

The 32 Signs of a Great Man[edit] Seated Buddha, Gandhara, 1st-2nd century CE. Tokyo National Museum The Buddha is traditionally regarded as having the Thirty-two Characteristics of a Great Man (Skt. mahÄpuruáčŁa lakáčŁaáča).[7] These thirty-two characteristics are also regarded as being present in cakravartin kings as well.[7] The Digha Nikaya, in the "Discourse of the Marks" (Pali: Lakkhaáča Sutta) (DN 30) enumerates and explains the 32 characteristics.[2]These are also enumerated in the BrahmÄyu Sutta of the Majjhima NikÄya (MN 91). The 32 major characteristics are:[8] Level feet Thousand-spoked wheel sign on feet Long, slender fingers Pliant hands and feet Toes and fingers finely webbed Full-sized heels Arched insteps Thighs like a royal stag Hands reaching below the knees Well-retracted male organ Height and stretch of arms equal Every hair-root dark colored Body hair graceful and curly Golden-hued body Ten-foot aura around him Soft, smooth skin Soles, palms, shoulders, and crown of head well-rounded Area below armpits well-filled Lion-shaped body Body erect and upright Full, round shoulders Forty teeth Teeth white, even, and close Four canine teeth pure white Jaw like a lion Saliva that improves the taste of all food Tongue long and broad Voice deep and resonant Eyes deep blue[9] Eyelashes like a royal bull White Ć«ráčÄ curl that emits light between eyebrows Fleshy protuberance on the crown of the head Forty teeth!!!!! Meditation on "Feeling" Love release Heart stress
Fa Xin replied to 2ndchance's topic in General Discussion
I would just add that the idea of âusing your heart to feelâ is not your physical heart, but more just âfeelingâ in general. How do you feel pleasure, happiness? How do you feel anger? How do you feel someone out? How do you feel out a new situation? Thereâs nothing to figure out or think about. Thereâs no technique. You just... feel. đ -
