Needing to eat... not a desire. Needing to eat a cheese pizza with a coke ... a desire -

I feel like to say we wonât survive without desires is the ego justifying its existence. Of course well survive. Unless you feel eating is a desire...thatâs more of a need. But you can sit in a cave for 60 years and survive. Then again. Thereâs many people who sit in caves for years and never master their attachments. I suppose thatâs why theyâre in the cave to begin with. đ -

I feel you Dwai. I gravitate towards mystical Christianity lately... and itâs hard to listen to my Catholic neighbors interpret the scriptures in the opposite ways I think of them. Its actually a blessing, though, because it allows me to practice non judgement regarding their views, and helps me to let go of my own stuff. Maybe this is an opportunity for you to benefit from this. -

Would there even be desire if there was no attachment ? No answer is required, itâs just there to think about. -
The Gompa in Texas, to study with John Painter. They have a bed and breakfast program, and offer teaching in Bagua, Qigong, tai chi... edit: never mind, you said a month to half a year... though you could start off with a week and get more than enough material to practice for years

Your heart is in the right place, but many times people will not get better unless they want to. To say âheâs not disciplined enough to stand up and do Qigongâ, tells me that even if you gave him a magical point to press, he would still be in his own way. You may affect him more with your presence alone - going to sit and talk with him for a few hours a week, holding the space for him and listening. Iâm sure you do this already. But a positive influence is huge. And like Aetherous said, a counselor or doctor would be the best bet... depression can be a big thing

Awesome, thanks! Their reactions are interesting. From that verse, it reminds me of Luke 4:16 âno prophet is accepted in his home townâ. To me, these verses speak of the conditioning of âregularâ people than any reflection on the prophet themselves. Even if I reach the level of a saint, many people in my âhome townâ know me as Fa Xin, the snot nose kid who got caught stealing candy, how could he be a prophet? I âknow his family, they are unremarkableâ (son of Mary and brother of James). They hold an image of me in their minds which will be hard to break... despite changes Iâve gone thru over the years. It reminds me of a part in Autobiography of a Yogi, when Yogananda observes Yukteswar Giri with his mother, and his mother says âDonât you try that guru stuff on me, your still my sonâ đ (paraphrased) Thats how I interpret those verses, but I do understand how people can get the Theories from those verses and the missing years etc. if only we could be a fly on the wall !

I could also find similar instructions in all other traditions, too. There must be something to the technique ! Thanks for sharing. đ I always knew my âdo nothingâ attitude would lead to wisdom ! đ

Interesting stuff, thank you for sharing. When quoting, I don't think there's any type of rules - except of course, to make sure it's quoted accurately and the source provided. I would be interested in reading the excerpts, so please let me know if/when you post them. The problem I have with the Issa story is that it assumes that the only place Jesus could have learned his "wisdom" is from other Yogis, or other traditions - or that the "East" has exclusive rights to inner mystical work. My view is that Jesus was a "prophet" (meaning he received his teachings from "God" and not from a person), and brought forth a powerful teaching/lineage, and that most people that surrounded him (Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, the apostles) were high level practitioners in their own right.

In my view, energy is kind of the building block of everything. So you could say all things are energy

Hi, Energy Stuck on left side, big left breast need help
Fa Xin replied to ZBaRz33's topic in Welcome
Yes, maybe some more info. If you donât mind sharing, whatâs your age? And how long have you had these? Have you asked a doctor? one of my breasts is bigger than the other. When boys go through puberty, sometimes the hormones go a little wacky and that can happen. I remember my nipple hurting as a young man, which lead to it becoming bigger. For years i was embarrassed by this. I made up for it by getting into bodybuilding and exercise. I felt better about it, on one level, but on another level it made me even more obsessed with how it looked. eventually as I got older and acquired bigger problems and responsibilities I didnât care as much. Now I donât care at all. In fact, I like to laugh about it. Sometimes the things we see in ourselves are barely visible to others. Just make the best of your short time here on this planet, I say. -

I hope it does, though. I know how frustrating it can be to have physical stuff like that. Sometimes, in the end itâs just about accepting things the way they are. Accepting yourself the way you are. Good luck my friend. What would blaspheme refer to in this verse?
-
Good question in general. I have some friends who have children who they get into meditation and spiritual practices. Who determines their progression? Also, at what point would a child be considered âmature enough?â Surely not an arbitrary number determined by the state... as Iâve met 17 and 18 year olds who were years ahead of their time in wisdom.
