  1. Hello, bruised, and welcome. Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go. Please take the time to read the post pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum Terms and Rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Fa Xin and the TDB team Welcome bruised, Sounds like you've had a good amount of fun training over the years. Internal arts & kung fu is nice because while it's training your body, it's also going to deeper levels, which you may or may not be aware of. But relaxing is key, as you pointed out. Sounds like you found this forum at the right time. I hope it steers you in the right direction and helps with your journey. Enjoy! You are welcome to jump right in to the ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forum to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started. May you enjoy your time here. Fa Xin

Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Fa Xin and the TDB team Welcome Seeker, I read the Magus of Java too. Very fun and entertaining book. They can help keep us motivated and thirsty for more, which is nice. However, compared to the book... I find the “real thing” is less fantastic, but more fulfilling. Good luck on your quest. 3. Experiences with Brahmacharya

I can second the Parvati suggestion. Working with higher beings has the ability to speed up the process of clearing the junk out. It can also be very enjoyable. 😊
  4. Compassion Helping Oneness : What a Stench

It’s a reminder to stay in the moment. Are you surrounded by good people usually? If so, it’s something to be thankful for.
  5. Experiences with Brahmacharya

Everything your looking for is in the present moment. The deeper you reside in it, the more you find. There’s no limit to the secrets it’s willing to tell you 😊
  6. Complex numbers

Lao Tzus lost book of geometry
  7. Interesting, and probably the day the robots take over and create the Matrix to use us like batteries. Maybe our shadowy archon rulers are watching this thread now, saying to themselves... “It’s begun... now we are in for it. They’re waking up!!!” Just kidding... carry on like I’m not here.... get it? I’m not really here?
  8. Maybe try to feel your whole body for energy, not just the spine. Energy flows everywhere. Once you quiet the mind, you can feel it, if you choose.
  9. Yes. It was fun, but I’m tiring of this game. Lightseeker, maybe you should start asking different questions. Your clearly not getting anywhere with the “how to control a guy in 10 days” questions. You have all this knowledge on this forum, all these people willing to help. Yet you cannot seem to learn from them? the first step to all the things you seek - is to quiet your mind. Maybe start a thread and ask people how to do that? Pick one technique that sounds good to you, and practice it for 30 days. Not even... try it for 7 days. See what happens?
  10. What kind of questions will you be asking ?
  11. New to Forum

Yes, I’m curious too 😊 Is it related to Zen?

  13. Awesome! I think everyone is different, and your approach is the best one for you. It’s not any more or less valid than some Advaita person... it’s just wherever you are at. I think the only important thing is being open to change happening, and not being bound by a concept.
  14. One thing I dislike about the article is it takes an absolute view. Saying one way is wrong and another is right. It’s just as bad as some non dualist saying that duality is false etc. Should we really limit ourselves like this and be boxed by one view or the other?

  16. Middle Class Daoism : Bagua vs MMA

Luckily I knew how to fight long before starting Bagua, and I could appreciate the art for it's full potential, which is much more than just fighting.

It’s fun to do exercises like this. 😊 Thinking outside the box and going outside of your comfort zone is important in growing. Theres lots of solid methods around that are talked about. Some people will mention in passing, and if your reading closely you’ll find it. Things won’t always be obvious or sales pitch here. Feel free to ask any questions 😊
  18. Looking for something real

Seems this thread is getting real 😁
  19. The TDB chat has a lot of fun potential. It seems like extra work to sign up for Slack, but the interface is powerful and has a lot to offer. Much more than just a chat room. You can real time message (DM), share images, videos, have a group message, lots of cool stuff.

  23. Hi hi! o/

The Slack chat is the only chat for TheDaoBums, as far as I know. It's not as active as it used to be, but there's a few that still hang out there.
