  1. Iā€™ve found this too, even before I started working with Jeff. Just residing in the moment and relaxing into ā€œbeingā€ (or letting the energy flows where it needs to) felt more natural then trying to consciously control or manipulate where it goes. Just my approach.
  2. Cool- thank you for the reply šŸ˜Š
  3. I was wondering if you can give me some examples of how one prepares the system? What sort of practices are there? i tend to agree with you in this regard. Someone who doesnā€™t have an open heart chakra - for example - will not benefit from, or experience things like bliss or oneness - no matter how much energy/kundalini they are given. They wonā€™t understand the process of letting go of their hang ups and habits, or they wonā€™t be willing to see past their body/sense of self. How can we let go of things, if we are concerned about losing them? Just some late night musings šŸ˜Š Thanks and cheers.
  4. Connecting with Deities

Really cool. Thanks for sharing. Your experience brought to mind the ā€œkitchen Godā€ from Asian cultures and also the hearth spirits... the kitchen is not as sacred and revered these days as it once was. not saying that your encounter was with one of those types of spirit, but it reminded me of it as it was helping your mom cook šŸ˜Š cool stuff
  5. Spiritual loneliness

Maybe try to see the commonalities in others. Notice how Your alike, not so much different. We all have pain, we all get sick. Most people are just trying to be happy or content in their lot in life. Use your different qualities to inspire and help those around you.
  6. Spiritual loneliness

    Sounds good to me
  7. Spiritual loneliness

Iā€™m not disagreeing with you. Just seemed the OP was looking for some support and understanding. Not to be told what they ā€œshouldā€ or ā€œshould notā€ feel. Donā€™t you think?
  8. Spiritual loneliness

It depends where someone is on their path. We are all doing our best. I think Its understandable to feel a disconnect with a world so obsessed with material and mundane stuff. I suppose everyone reacts differently to this. I did not know a spiritual path was so defined as outlined in your post.
  9. Yes, I would say donā€™t hold onto the feeling or push it away. Just let it happen. I went thru a similar process/feelings and itā€™s mostly gone away now, though I still get pressure at the chakra points occasionally.
  10. The Relationship between Effort and Power

A wise man once told me TRY = To Resist Yourself
  11. Looking for mantra to ease anxiety/worry

Hello and welcome, You can try the Buddhist mantra, "OM MANI PADME HUM" - which they say is the entire Buddha's teaching in 6 syllables. It's called the Great Compassion Mantra, and if said with love in the heart, can surely help. Another one you can try is "Om Nama Shivaya" which is the mantra for Lord Shiva, who is very powerful at breaking negative things like anxiety and worry. These are two common mantras that can be repeated silently or out loud by any person, and can be very powerful if done with an open heart. Good luck.
  12. Deleting my posts

    #3 is nicely put...
  13. Working with Attachments

Another method I want to share... Giving it away. This is where a connection with a deity can be beneficial. Giving it up, letting them take the load of it. If your afraid to give it away, as Alan Watts put it - the process of nature is the helper. Rust, decay, everything crumbles and falls away. There's no point in holding onto any of it, as there's nothing to hold onto. It's achieved for you. One day you'll die and not leave a thing behind. Meditation on this point helps to loosen things up a bit.
  14. Working with Attachments

I can see how attachments can be good for the development of certain external things. Innovation and striving to better things. I think though, If we are here, on this thread... we are more concerned with liberation than invention. Its my experience that in order to really drop attachments, you must have experienced a lot of suffering thru those attachments. Or perhaps, seen how those attachments will lead to suffering. A scientist is too busy to see or maybe care about suffering. I can imagine that geniuses are tortured souls who probably suffer very deeply.
  15. Thanks. I practice XYQ and had not heard of these books before.
  16. Working with Attachments

Good thread Jonesboy. I find a simple ā€œrecenteringā€ helps sometimes. Just focusing on your awareness, the sensations of your body, your breath, or relaxing into awareness. Doesnt work all of the time, but itā€™s one of the things Iā€™ve found that helps. Something that ā€œturns your focus away from the issueā€, to give you space to see thru it.
  17. Gospel of Thomas

This one seems to me about "The kingdom of God is within"... you can have all the knowledge of worldly affairs, but if your lacking in being in touch with your inner world, you will be forever wanting more.
  18. Gospel of Thomas

    67. Jesus said, "Those who know all, but are lacking in themselves, are utterly lacking."
  19. So I voted yes. Wanted to share one of the positive benefits I've had working with other people... I've always been rather sensitive and empathetic to people around me. The last few years it has gotten much stronger, due to meditation practices that have opened me up. If in a large crowd, I would become tired and get a migraine. If in a class, I would sometimes shake like I was very cold. I attributed this to "anxiety" for a long time, and tried many ways to solve this problem on my own. Things like supplements, more meditation, mind over matter. Even did try various visualizations to block stuff out. It wasn't until I started working with people that I began to notice what was really happening. I learned to tell what was my own energy and what was others energy ... I learned what "connections" I was still holding onto, that would cause this. I was essentially going into a group of people - like a class room or party - and connecting with all of them - subconsciously - and getting caught in it. It would cause me immense migraines. I've cleared about 90% of this ... it will still happen from time to time, but I manage it a lot easier. Previous to this I worked alot with energy doing qigong and tai chi, but did not make the conscious connection until really learning to connect with other people. I was pretty desperate for help - I even messaged a few members of this forum to ask for suggestions on what may be causing my migraines... I knew it wasn't a health issue, since it only happened in crowds. Luckily I found someone who helped me. Think about how much we rely on others. Despite any intentions to wall yourself up, interacting with people is unavoidable, and our lives are based in relationships. Even a small encounter at a store can have lasting energetic ramifications, and for sensitive people like myself - could leave the rest of your day very disturbed.
  20. Connecting with Deities

Thanks Dwai. I also got him as very empty as well. Felt like I was in a large ballroom. Not much energy flow to speak of. šŸ˜Š
  21. Connecting with Deities

Anyone here work with Lao Tzu? i find he is a rather powerful and vast presence...
  22. Not quite. Iā€™d be happy to chat more via PM if your interested. I think Iā€™ve derailed this thread enough for today. šŸ˜€
  23. Sorry - thatā€™s why I donā€™t post much. My view of things is a bit different then most. Didnā€™t mean to sound cold. šŸ˜Š
  24. I can see where your coming from, but who are we to decide what was right for those people?
  25. You donā€™t think the quote applies cross tradition?
