Hi Awakener, I practice a style of Qigong called Pan Gu Shegong. A very basic comparison would be to say, "It is Qigong forms with the channeling of energy, much like Reiki." We also practice a form of energy healing that is contained within the system itself, which, I have been told, is similar to Reiki in many regards. I don't have any experience with Reiki, personally. And I have very limited experience with Internal Alchemy, or NeiGong. However, I thought bringing this style to your attention may help with your question. Seeing how Pangu Shengong is a style of Cultivation that channels qi. Cheers, FX

When I was young and doing kenpo, our teacher had us choose the weapon we wanted to learn the most. I chose tonfa. Not sure why. Maybe because it was a weapon that wasn't popular. I don't work with many weapons these days, usually just focus on empty hand form and fighting. Escrima/kali sticks were always my favorite. I can crank with a pair of those.

I would say the wrong way to meditate is trying to force something - whatever it may be (forcing stillness, visualizations, energy, whatever it may be). Expecting things to happen (kinda falls under forcing)

What is the meaning of being a warrior of peace?
Fa Xin replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
What a great post. Wilderness therapy. Love that idea. Thank you for sharing. That to me is a peaceful warrior. Your going into battle with these poor kids by using peace - calmness and openness. And your winning by not fighting. It's straight out of the Dao de Jing or sun tzu. For many years I searched for a purpose or skill that I excelled at - career wise. It wasn't until my early 30s that I found out I can use my strengths - empathy, compassion, calmness - and actually help people while creating a career for myself (health care, mental health) its actually a trait that many people in our modern world feel it is at best useless (get walked on or taken advantage of), detrimental or not an actual skill. i would argue it is essential for communication and relationships. But I'm terrible at math, so the world does balance out. and of course it is also my greatest weakness. So you do need the other half - wisdom / emptiness -
Krishna das is one the best to ever do it. So so much feeling in his music.

To clarify. This isn't done to make a certain outcome, or to sway in any way. Its done because it is natural. Not sure how else to describe it. -

For me, it's being kind and friendly in the face of someone trying to up you, intimidate you or bait you. Its checking your ego at the door and taking the high road. even knowing you have trained for years to dismantle opponents, yet choosing to show compassion and help if possible. Choosing to smile at an insult, knowing this person is hurting or angry inside. Hoping they find the freedom from suffering every human desires. -
Thanks for sharing your story my friend. Its nice to read others experiences. I find many similar struggles, and it's encouraging and motivating to see someone else awaken. I also applaud your summary of osho and sadhguru. They may not be perfect but they were just what you needed, to find your way. i hope you'll continue to hang and chat with us bums!

Synchronicities, uncanny coincidences, strange resonances in your life (memorable, or recent)?

Lol great descriptions spotless. Especially the last one. Made me laugh! -
With that being said there seems to be a resurgence in taijiquan for Practical purposes. One that comes to mind is Novell Bell and his group in NYC is extremely refreshing to see. Not only are they youtubing their training but also holding full contact matches with many guys that train ima.

I was an experienced martial artist and mma fighter when I started with taijiquan. I started tjq for health, meditation and relaxing benefits. But I did learn things that improved my fighting, for sure. Problem is most teachers here in America (the ones I've met at least) don't train with fighting in mind. Either they don't know or don't care. Health sells much better. then there's many "taijiquan fighters" who fight like kick boxers when things get rough. If you can't fight like you train then something is wrong Tjq is a very competent martial art, but I feel to use it successfully in a real life or death confrontation you have to train that way and it's a lot longer of a road then going to mma gym. Learning taichi to fight is like becoming a doctor in order to take blood. You can do it but there's so much more your learning

Do these practices lead to Demonic Possession?
Fa Xin replied to yondaime109's topic in General Discussion
I guess the question becomes... if an interaction with said entity is beneficial, should we undertake it? Even if they're not "divine". Many people aren't the most savory, yet we interact and trade/work with them. Then again there's the issue of submission. We don't open our house to these shady characters. Also, how do we recognize the signs of demons and how they work? Purely curiousity here. I think it would be beneficial for us, as seekers, to know. -
Do these practices lead to Demonic Possession?
Fa Xin replied to yondaime109's topic in General Discussion
Im glad you found it funny ! I do aim to please There's a big difference between Jesus casting out real demons And believing that every one else's spiritual practices are evil / open you up to demonic influences / don't work in defending against evil. I grew up in a similar mindset community, I'm very aware of the fear and bias. In fact I was told at a young age in Sunday school that the "universal oneness is a false concept." I was about 13 at the time and reading the Dao de Ching. That was "my" truth so I naturally felt a disconnect. It's a great topic though. -
Qi Gong/Meditation at ancient stone circles
Fa Xin replied to angelusnovus's topic in General Discussion
Yes please let us know your experiences. I heard a podcast about a month ago suggesting that the sacred sites have to do with sound based practices. That Stonehenge was a big echo chamber at one time. Same with the pyramids at Giza- 10 replies

Do these practices lead to Demonic Possession?
Fa Xin replied to yondaime109's topic in General Discussion
I say. Run as far away from that fear based paradigm if you want peace of mind. Seeing demons in everything will make you a very intolerant and closed person. Jesus had the right idea but his message was corrupted through many years of wielding it as a weapon against the people. The only answers you need are within yourself. Om -
My advice with slapping is ... start slow and light. It's a very old practice and many Chinese do it daily. I see many people at the gym, parks...even at the casino... people tapping and slapping their legs and bodies. It feels quite good to get the blood and qi flowing.

Doesn't have to be spiritually oriented but...seeing as that's why we're here... I've tried to find some apps geared for meditation....yawn. Haven't found any good ones yet. Although I did download a "virtual prayer wheel" you spin with a swipe...

I also found an app called "access to insight" which has a huge library of Theravada texts built into it. I'm liking the idea of the kindle app, though.

I have heard the term "limitless construct". Something we create to help us, yet is not limited in its function.
