My real name is Earl. An I find this to be hilarious

AwaH SON, DAAAANG THAT'S WHATS UP. Reminds me of my teenage years. Calling someone out with rap, then having a rap battle to settle it. Mad respect. To come up with a good rap you gotta be a deep thinker, cause it takes reflecting on the situation then expressing it in a style particular to you and your message. Man I never was good at it, cause I had a speech impediment. Good times tho. 9th, Marblehead is the kind of guy thats like the old man in Gran Torino. Racist but not even aware of it, just kinda is comfortable with who he is N where he's at. The kind of person who may genuinely like a person from a different background, but might unknowingly instead them with "You're one of the good ones." Thinking his approval is a compliment. An when chips are down he feel free to be openly racist behind closed doors feeling as if he's going warned that right thru defending our country and being a person of character an integrity. People like that it's best to let them be, they don't know they insult us and then they imply racism it's underhanded and not brought out to open because they know the social dance too well to say things openly like that. Sure as in a post where he says he had some other words to describe those "fools". They justify it because it's not a burning hate, just a sometimes thing. An they cannot allow themselves to be aware of it, because that would unravel their identity to themselves. So it's best to try an get along cause it's a forum here and they're not interested in understanding our "kind" or our way of being. Just mainly in conversations about what the people here think is high minded, or the occasional useful topics. For the record Marblehead, I've dealt with "your type" of personality most my life. I know it's built on a foundation that you feel is correct, an any threat to that foundation is quickly devalued as inappropriate or faulty in some way. I don't mean nothing by explaining to 9th what I understand of things. I appreciate our musical back and forth an would like to continue that. Do you like Bill Withers, Aint no Sunshine? As to the science is enlightenment, I came to remark on that but after reading thru felt to remark on that other thing. My view of science is like someone standing someplace and counting the steps to another place, then after preparing themselves intellectually to take the risk of the journey, they go out with measurements to see if they are correct an so they can help anyone else who wants to know the steps from that place to the other. My view of spirituality is someone finding themselves walking and reaching a place that's free and clear, then going home a d trying to recreate that freedom and clarity elsewhere by gauging with bodily feedback as opposed to measuring stick. Both are useful, will get you what your goal 's eventually, but in the end only by accepting they are both educated guesswork, one with intellect and machines, the other with heart and body, neither is the only way. Where are you? Here. Where's here? Earth. Where's earth? In the cosmos. Where's the cosmos? In the universe. Where's the universe?

Marvels Iron Fist [potential spoiler alert]
Hancock replied to Rocky Lionmouth's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Entertainment gets away with racial stereotypes by saying it's alien or fiction and then saying shiitake it too seriously or are reading too much into it. It's even defended by the people who enjoy the fictionalized aspects of it as harmless fun. But it just perpetuates racial disharmony in subtle ways. Guarantee you made a black superman or Spanish superman or Asian superman, or anything other than Caucasian superman there will be outcry about not staying true to the original material, etc. But I mean the guy's an alien, so technically he can look however. They cut the romance between Supergirl and Jimmy Olesen when CW took over because of the interracial aspects. They spent the whole time flirting and being attracted the whole first season, then all of sudden she needed to focus on being supergirl but she falls for the next available Caucasian who comes her way. It was done this way because they thought if young women looked to supergirl as a role model, they might start interracial dating to emulate her. Strange but if you've acquaintances and friends who work in these companies, they can tell you what goes on in certain situations. The white gay phenomenon, is where white characters are playing gay and not much diversity in that. It's supposed to allow it to be acceptAble to the populous by getting them to see caucasians do it and follow their lead. When in truth gays come in all shapes and sizes and colors. It's there for everyone to see, but if you want to be fooled so you can enjoy yourself it isn't hard. Arrow has one black character an his villAins are usually noncaucasian or associated with noncaucasians. The merger of the new Firestorm in Flash briefly touched on subtle racism when Kaitlin didn't want to give Jax a chance a s was quick to judge him, until Barry stepped in an told her that maybe she didn't want to see Jax's potential for emotional reasons. Racism is being addressed but still ever so subtly. Speaking of Flash there's huge outcry from fans that they don't like having a black wally west, an from sources, nothing confirmed but they are going to introduce a new white lead to replace Barry instead of doing what was done in the comics where Wally took over for Barry for years. They are remedying this with a black electric based hero show later this fall. However it's filled with stereotypes peppered in with again blacks who attempt to gain the approval of white peers. So it's there and as long as people overlook it, an don't say anything, it'll stay there. That's how racism is, a parasite that tries to hide in places we don't want to look. -
Marvels Iron Fist [potential spoiler alert]
Hancock replied to Rocky Lionmouth's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Spoilers Good article on the whitewashing subject somewhere it addresses they made attempts to make Scarlett Johansson appear more Asian. https://mic.com/articles/156395/marvel-s-iron-fist-missed-chance-to-recast-lead-white-character-as-asian-some-say#.E9cXW5Fpk https://www.inverse.com/article/29493-iron-fist-drunk-guy-fight-lewis-tan At one point the guy who did the drunken fighting scene was going to be cast as Iron Fist. Then they just changed directions on him an gave him the drunken fist part mysteriously. Personal sources say they wanted to appeal to the Caucasian community, because they felt young whites would identify with a white face more than an Asian or half Asian. The orders came from higher up in the corporate department to cast a white male lead, so as to have a contrast with the ethnic characters to be played. Media itself is used to foster racism. Btw, Iron Fist sucked because their shooting schedule was pushed back til they found what they felt was the perfect white lead. Racism ruined what could be an awesome show, at least it's first season. Though I enjoyed the concept, it just is a relic that dates to a time when white was right. They should've used someone with skill, regardless of ethnicity. I mean comic book wise, the iron fist is like the best martial artist there is. Undefeated a dragon an claimed it's power. The show has him getting smacked around in ways that's just embarrassing for any martial artist, much more for a master martial artist. Plus the guy was impossible to feel sympathetic towards, sad stuff happened but the way the actor played it was like a caricature of how it really should've been. That being said, from what i see in Defenders the actor is growing but still is being carried by the others in the group and a better storyline. Daredevil however remains awesome. I mean in comics they are near equals with Iron Fist usually better, but in the show it's clear as day that Daredevil is better. They should've cast someone with the same skill levels or greater than the guy playing Daredevil, to be the Iron Fist. Hollywood doesn't care bout Comic-book accuracy, so they shouldn't have had any problems finding an hiring any race to portray Danny Rand. The source material was a written in a time where the rich white blonde male was ideal. I ft it should be said, but truth is the actor they hired, regardless of his race just is lacking in allaround skill. I did lmao when he tried summoning his chi an it wouldn't work.but come on part of the iron fist training is to know how to wield the power so if he wins, he's an affective Immortal Weapon. This guy can't use his power for jack much without someone holding his hand. An I know it was explained in the series but come on. Plus the way they show the chi glowing like that just frustrates me. Still cause it's a kung fu series I watch it. An I'm goin to check out into the badlands, cause I read good things on this thread -
Thanks. Cool. Here's something just for entertainment purposes.

One training practice I do is perception, so nothing is a surprise. 360 awareness because my teacher taught us to focus on a candle and simultaneously focus our peripheral visions well as developed our prioreception. It's a rough practice it maintains a 360 degree of sensory and awareness. One of my fellow peers were blind an our teacher taught us all equally, so we had to lead to do things with blindfolds an what not. It's rough an I'm. Of the best at it but it 's helpful what I learned. Thanks for sharing this. It has untold volumes of hidden practicality. I was once jumped by several people and because it's also one of my issues as well as something I want to prepare for, I'm asking about it. However good advice. We can on my prepare so much but some things will get to us regardless. Good and sound advice.I massaged by an angry partner once, it is ill do the trick lol. Btw I wasn't stranger to them, they just g it upset an wanted to make me pay after I cAught onto their lie. It was whatever it was.lol I remember going to the gas station. An tears streaming down my face because if the mace, when the gas station attendant asked Sunni was crying I just said ,"my girlfriend broke up with me. She busted out laughing because I'm a big man, so. I laughed too. It helped a lot. I'm free grateful to thAt Asian gas station attendant in Mansfield, Arkansas back in March 2012.

What careers would help me with my taoist alchemy
Hancock replied to Sharerp's topic in Daoist Discussion
Then my suggestion is to take more time to figure your self out, an cultivate your self as a person. I also suggest to learn how to think for your self, meaning that you make your decisions. Others might advise you, but in the end for good or bad or inbetween, it is you who decides for yourself. Though at times you may choose to adhere to outside opinion, I suggest cultivating a sense of responsibility even there an to take the time to think things through to get the outcome you want. Ex. Someone might say, "let's party" an when you say "hell yea!!" It's because you're choosing to put aside study or resting for work, to relax tension an engage socially. In your mind an heart, it's not something to beat yourself up over, because you know the ramifications of your action, you consider them, an made a final decision. No regret, whether you party, rest, or study. So if you chose to party you won't feel guilty you're of studying or resting for work, or if you chose resting you'll not regret missing the party, or if you chose studying then you won't resent studying because you chose it over party. Deciding for your self, an taking responsibility for your actions keeps your mind clear and sharp, so you can focus on what you do an get the most from it. Since you said you're trying to be more social, I suggest you go to places to just be around other people. Take a book or your laptop, sit there an get used to being comfortable in a room with a bunch of people. Then next suggestion is compliment people when you're buying things from them, it helps you calibrate your social interactions by practicing with someone who you interact with already. You can get a sense of comfort of talking with others this way that will echo into your social life. Another social tip is to not base things on necessity or desire, but somewhere inbetween. Like you mentioned you might be going to school soon, choose to go to a study group even if it's not necessary for you but it fulfills that desire to interact. An gives you an "in" with your peers, who may or may not become friends. Another tip is if you get nervous, put your dominant hand on your chest, An the other hand in your pocket, while standing at an angle. The nervousness will heat your bands up usually, an putting it to your chest will cause a selfsoothing response to occur. Hand in your pocket an standing kind of sideways, gives you a sense of style covers the fact you're hiding your nervousness. Or if no jacket, just put your palm to your chest anyway. Another social tip, develop a bit of style. Even if you're poverty stricken, style is like how you represent yourself. It's about being comfortable in your own skin while looking good. Style can be found In not only how we dress, but in how we stand and even how we handle what might be considered a negative situation. Style a d Charisma is just representing yourself somewhere between how you want others to see you, and what you really are. To that end go to great lengths to maintain personal hygiene. Being antisocial comes from nervousness an anxiety, but it can be overcome if you keep exposing yourself to social situations and interacting with others in small doses. It will be outside your comfort zone, but it'll open up your world. Be ready for change an be comfortable knowing I was similar to you, an I did what I suggested, I made the effort, an I'm more comfortable with myself in public because of it an even made friends, have had partners. It's like nothing was as expected, but it is worth it. Genuine connections to other people is something only done in person. People will tell you to be confident, or be yourself. What that means is to be sociable, in a way that's not too fake or obviously not who you are. An to not waiver in that. I suggest you message Earl Grey here on the forums , he has links to a website called the art of manliness that might be helpful. If you're female, ask Kar3n or qicat for advice. It may be socially taboo to say it, but regardless if straight or gay, men an women have different approaches. Good luck out there -
Much appreciated, I didn't know where to post martial related stuff now I do. I will look into krav maga techniques. Thanks very much Kar3n. I'm currently learning some winging chun techniques. Turns out my neighbor saw me practicing in the backyard, an is an old school wing chun instructor who's offered to teach me while I'm still here, before the move. I will definitely look into baguazhang. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate this advice. It is currently not an option for me to own a pet, however that is a good way to deter would be issues I had not thought of. Fresh perspective, thanks thelerner. I personally don't want to escalate things by using a gun, though I did consider it. If I use one or they found out I had one, then it'd be just matter of timing before they just shot first. Avoidance is definitely a good tactic. That's 3votes for Bagua, definitely going to look into this art. Alright Thank you for your input. Hidden weapon might be something to look into. I walk with a cane right now so that's something. Thank you. Thanks to everyone who responded. I'm saving videos and links an reading them. Again your direct focus on what was asked has been extremely helpful. If you guys want to joke or whatever cut loose now, cause I've got enough helpful materials from you all that I can. Focus on seriously.

How did this project go? I'm interested in hearing results good or bad, an what you've tried that you find useful that works. Also I suggest mentally recreating a place, as detailed as possible for one week. Another one week, is to recreate your martial arts training mentally and feel yourself doing it an e even doing pushups an other callistenics mentally. Also one week devoted to mentally disregarding time and distance as you travel. Which means don't look at watches or miles just travel. If you do a blog on these experiences I'd like to read your results. I've had surprising benefits from all of those, but without saying what they are I'm interested in seeing what happens to others who practice it. If our experiences match or how they differ.

After performing the exorcism, I keep seeing two dark wisps of smoke like things that sometime take shape around my bathroom area. I've cleansed the house an put salt rocks in the Windows to absorb negative energies, I could tell the difference but it seems like not all the stuff is gone. Because I still feel the negative, though it's greatly reduced. Also I hear things move on their own an I yell quit it, an they fall to the ground. Other than that this phenomena seems tame, but I'm still trying to get rid of them. Any more advice?

Awesome song, I like Thriller too. That could be the theme song for this thread. Lol But hey Seriously, does anyone have a response to the topic in a helpful nonjoking way? I'm very serious about this, so if people who read this could hold on the jokes in this thread, an dont comment unless you are being helpful by answering the question or adding constructively I'd appreciate it. I'm stating this cause I know people like to joke, but in this thread I started I am saying out of respect just don't here, so I can learn something useful. I'm not trying to be a douche, I just am after serious an helpful answers an don't want to search 10 joke or opinionated but unhelpful replies, before I find a useful one. I mean no offense, an enjoy humor as much as the next guy. But as they say, there's a time to joke an a time to be serious. This is one I'm asking people replying to be serious. That last thread, mopai group I started had 15 useful replies out if over a 1000 posts. I'm trying to knip that in the bud with this one. However if you have a good pun, joke, etc you want to post. Then I invite you to message it to me personally an we can share the laugh together. Just let's not do it here. An I realize some people might try to antagonize or bullshit, let's avoid that too. Lol with the "code of conduct" I asked for, I'm going to be surprised if I get any replies at all. Anyhow, thanks for respecting my "code of conduct" in this thread. An for any an all helpful advice anyone posts here.

What careers would help me with my taoist alchemy

If looking for long term I suggest you try a variety of jobs and decide which suits you best. Because people often think things are going to be great and find it's not, but they are trapped because that's all they know to do and it pays well. I suggest play the field a bit an experiment, try many temporary jobs. A life tip is never to leave one job even if you hate it, til you have secured a new job. An open a savings, 15 percent of your check goes into that and it's not touched for four years. It gives you something to have that grows over time to build your life however you want it in the future, when you want to transition into things or when things get rough an you need to pay bills but we're suddenly fired or an emergency or illness took you out of work. But hopefully that won't happen an at the end of four years you have a hefty sum that will assist with big life purchases or you can continue to grow. Whichever you decide. Another life tip is to balance your meditation and cultivation with life experience. You go out and have fun and be human. If you don't have life experience then you will have regrets til you do an it'll interfere with your practices at some point. I took a couple years off because even though I was making progress, my teacher told me something was holding me back and sent me away.til I figured it out. I was a virgin, never had a real job, I was socially shy, I never drank, or smoked, or been to a party, I never had fun with. A group of friends, I never had a partner, all those things til my teacher came after my teacher said "keep our teachings filed in the heart , but go out there and live life because you've gone as far as you can til you do." It helped I travelled, I learned a lot, I was duped, great and terrible experiences. As my now passed on mentor would say, I had a wonderfully terrible time." I went out a boy an came back as a man. Part of it was to learn how to continue practicing while interacting with the world we live in. I didn't have the benefit to go to a monastery an devote my life, so my teachers method helped me learn to find a balance and become more than just a spiritual.being, it helped me become a human being in every good and bad sense of the word. Ultimately though people will give you answers, Damn good answers that worked for them, but in your own heart you'll feel the way to go about things that are best for you personally. I wish you well in whatever you do. An remember this, "No matter your spiritual attainment, no matter if you can do great things, no matter if you're more aware and perceptive than others, no matter what - you are still human." People who lose track of their humanity go insane thinking they become Gods or saints or even Buddhas when in truth they are just self deluded because of their growth has given them access to things most can obtain by continuing forward on a spiritual path. Best wishes fellow traveler -
Man I knew I had old dance moves but watching that, it's like seeing myself dance an i really need to up my game lol It was decent, I might look more into it. The best songs to me are ones I tie memories too or experiences I identify with, or find meaning in for myself through abstract artistic interpretation. That being said the way he projects just the second one, it brings memories and feelings about in an almost hauntingly bittersweet way. I appreciate the sharing of these gems, Marblehead.

Try forest or park ranger if y'all have those. Helps with good areas of meditation an you don't deal with people much so after your duties you'll be able to meditate an cultivate Starting a small online business. Gather things cheaply at garage sells, thrust shops, and sell them online. It's not a main source of income but it is helpful. Taxi driving gives you time between fares to meditate or study, an you make decent money over time. Another one is to find a temp agency and work as a day labourer. Being a Security guard also gives lots of free time. -
Great job explaining that. You really do excellent work here.

Are impying Kar3n is lieing? She explained clearly to you the situation. Man you imply one hates and imply that an other staff member is a liar. How do you expect to be taken seriously if you act so obviously unsociable and irrational? What ground are you standing on with attacks to the people you ask for help from? Trust me, I've been in your boat. Like I said in another post you show me the ugly sides of myself. Kar3n remember when I refused to listen to you sighting harassment and waited for Dawei to respond? Boom dude is following my footsteps like eerily close. Lol
-
Dude you're not important enough to hate. An don't diss Dawei dude is chill Plus u literally asked his help and insulted him at the same time. There's no incentive for your request to be at the top of his long list of things he an other staff do here.

Remember that part in the Matrix when Neo fought the trainman an he said, "Down here I am God."...that's how old works, within reason here. Face but if guy doesn't want you in his zone, you can't do much bout it. Hope this helps you understand what's going on.

this is simple, obvious, and easy to understand
Hancock replied to roger's topic in General Discussion
It's simplified because skillwise you dont have to be good. It is just sensing inside yourself, something we do automatically when we are tired or hungry. Then it's extending that sense consciously with whatever magic or science in this universe that lets us do it, we sense in others. Then even develop a target to sense specific things based on our intentions. No meditation or candles or incense or guru required, just an awareness of the possibility and the effort to try fly or fail. If you give it a shot an have trouble feel free to message for help with it.
