"Wu Hsin expounds a thousand different sentences, and ten thousand different words. They are appropriate for all kinds of human beings, with different sorts of confusion. One will come to discern, that self-centeredness, is a prison. The end result of such discernment, is clarity, which gives one nothing, and takes away, everything." --Wu Hsin

If Self alone is, a non-duality big enough to go beyond itself in which even oneness is limited perception. Self is the perceiving. As Bhagavan would say in not so many words, the true posture is remaining as one is, the pure consciousness. Thus true renunciation is simply being Self. That is the true dharma free of error. As such, I cannot help but conclude that either path may be the means of shedding one's misperceptions.

Indeed.. truth is stranger than fiction? "She", having no genuine existence of her own apart from "He", is equally inscrutable. It seems this is due in part to the reality that any answer(s) one may arrive at regarding the dynamic manifestation... will inevitably be a "Maya" answer. "like using a knife to cut another knife."

Agamas "This is the Direct Awareness of the Self, Graciously expounded to Guha by Ishvara Himself [Shiva], The foremost and first Lord, Seated as the Self in my heart." ~Ramana Maharshi --------------------------------- Witnessing of the Atman "Atma Sakshatkara means, "witnessing of the Atman", or Self-realization, and is the name of the chapter within the jnana pada(knowledge section) of the Sarvajnanottara Agama, an obscure Upagama(subsidiary Agama) text. The sublime non-dual teaching of this text is in the form of a dialogue between Shiva and Guha(Kartikeya Murugan) where Lord Shiva is the Supreme Guru and Guha is the Disciple. The text was discovered by Sri Ramana Maharshi, who translated the chapter titled Atma Sakshatkara into Tamil sometime in the early 20th century, and also composed the introductory benediction verse. The English translation of that chapter is translated by Dr. H. Ramamurthy."

Not "my" thoughts per se, but this snippet of commentary on the emotional body through a Nath yogi lens may give rise to further discussion. https://yogendranathyogi.blogspot.com/2010/12/emotionaldesire-body.html?m=1

In many instances, the conditions surrounding one's self-deception inevitably begets truth. There are many truths in this world. John 19 26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Instinctually correct and accurate action. A cat's calculating precision with regard to its movement. The comedy of a creature far too nimble to be seen tripping into the unknown. The ironic clumsiness of the disoriented one, flailing mid-fall, unable to attain its bearing to at last land upon its feet. Attentively knowing where one is along the adventurous path of self-discovery, lest the guide of one's curiosity transform into one's killer. The fools folly is willful ignorance.

Yes I think so... duality allows for the equal and opposite reaction, the trap-like interplay of attraction & aversion; i.e. desire leads to fear and vice versa. Mindless bliss may be a well-deserved respite from the unending intensity of the mental stream, but not nearly as interesting. Pain is our guilty pleasure. Suffering, a universal antidote for the sickness of inattention. Love for life is natural... being wishes to continue indefinitely. Our true power lies hidden like the pendulum's still center, but not forever. Just beneath the surface abides the subtle rage of perfect peace. War is more readily understood than harmony. Swim with the tide or against it. The moon's reflection only trembles in the wake by virtue of a fixed position. Turbulence urges the seeker to either lovingly dive deep, or engage fearful but adventurous surface waters. But from where do we approach the navigating of soul? From the perspective of love, or of fear?

In the destruction of ignorance, prevails truth. Love never fails... it penetrates and heals even one's hatred for the failures it reveals.
