"Vultures are the most righteous of birds: they do not attack even the smallest living creature." ~Plutarch

"Justice is not postponed. A perfect equity adjusts its balance in all parts of life. Oi chusoi Dios aei enpiptousi, -- The dice of God are always loaded. The world looks like a multiplication-table, or a mathematical equation, which, turn it how you will, balances itself. Take what figure you will, its exact value, nor more nor less, still returns to you. Every secret is told, every crime is punished, every virtue rewarded, every wrong redressed, in silence and certainty. What we call retribution is the universal necessity by which the whole appears wherever a part appears. If you see smoke, there must be fire. If you see a hand or a limb, you know that the trunk to which it belongs is there behind." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I doubt that.

Then indeed, you have assumed the role most needed!

I've been summoned! I only add that by virtue of the sage's loving view of those drawn to him as himself, he assumes the required roles that meet the needs which arise!

"Much of what was said did not matter, and that much of what mattered could not be said." ~Katherine Boo

"The truth is not always beautiful, nor beautiful words the truth." ~Lao Tzu

"He has no desire for fame. To become anything of a public figure would be deeply distasteful to him; and so it may be that he is satisfied to lead his chosen life and be no more than just himself. He is too modest to set himself up as an example to others; but it may be he thinks that a few uncertain souls, drawn to him like moths to a candle, will be brought in time to share his own glowing belief that ultimate satisfaction can only be found in the life of the spirit, and that by himself following with selflessness and renunciation the path of perfection he will serve as well as if he wrote books or addressed multitudes." ~W. Somerset Maugham

What one practice has brought the most benefit to your life?

Going against the grain if only to bear witness to the ensuing chaos. I've found nothing has revealed to me more of what I am, than wholeheartedly identifying with all of what I am not. -
“We’re all seeking that special person who is right for us. But if you’ve been through enough relationships, you begin to suspect there’s no right person, just different flavors of wrong. Why is this? Because you yourself are wrong in some way, and you seek out partners who are wrong in some complementary way. But it takes a lot of living to grow fully into your own wrongness. And it isn’t until you finally run up against your deepest demons, your unsolvable problems - the ones that make you truly who you are - that we’re ready to find a lifelong mate. Only then do you finally know what you’re looking for. You’re looking for the wrong person. But not just any wrong person: it's got to be the right wrong person - someone you lovingly gaze upon and think, “This is the problem I want to have.” I will find that special person who is wrong for me in just the right way.” ~Andrew Boyd, Daily Afflictions: The Agony of Being Connected to Everything in the Universe

Also... and this one's pretty spot on.. oh maya!

Cool! Always nice to have somewhat of a map for exploring.. or at least a compass... that's not spinning non-stop. Some more to chew on. I'm not too big on pranayama, as I tend to lean toward intensely profound concentration and/or total surrender exclusively for practice.. but the following has some pretty good descriptive insights imo. This is from Layne Little's commentary on his English rendering of: SHAKING THE TREE: Kundalini Yoga, Spiritual Alchemy, & the Mysteries of the Breath in Bhogar's 7000. Enjoy.

You only presume to have seen, but you may as well have never even pretended to look. The most pitiable of all downtrodden, decrepit and irredeemable bums is advanced light years beyond your futile striving against what is. The wonderfully righteous cosmic irony of your plight is that the one avoiding death must first die to live forever. And all I smell is troll.

The last appointed lineage holder of that particular sampradaya, is himself the inspiration to cultivate. Your inspiration however seems to be rooted in some misplaced passion to monopolize truth, a delusional holy grail quest upon the high horse of pride. It's a shame really, ego has concocted quite an intricate maze for you. The predicament you've succumbed to will only increase your suffering under the guise of "progress." Can you see the immortals from your bird's eye view, o wise emperor? I doubt they would even acknowledge one with such thoroughly self-serving motivations. For one claiming such depth of spiritual insight and vision, it's of no surprise your conclusions are wholly based on superficial outward appearances.

Eyes don't apply here, although transcendent perception may have its place in passing the time. The highest level cultivators release notions of choice and control. All is as it must be. The mind's grip on the imagined individual's perception must be loosened as a prerequisite to encountering elements outside physical definition. Surrendering to life's spontaneity by abandoning one's sense of control is, of course, not without a measure of discomfort for one intent upon power and influence. A man feebly motions toward the so obvious it need not be mentioned, but overlooked because it's invisible.

LOL One is rarely discerned and unseen by most. Knowing of or about, and Knowingness, are not synonymous. Consciousness depends on nothing. What powers can be spoken of with straight face in light of the grand miracle that you are? All power is me, all energy is me, all fields are myself. I am, an open fact without words, prior to one's projective capacity. Mind is a tool at best. The essence of its mantra is nothing more than a relentless, unceasing, "i !" Before you ever thought you recognized Casper, consciousness rushed in to meet his form immediately. Impossible to analyze, imperceivable, the most-ignored but well-known and least realized. Being oneself requires no mediator. Direct apperception has 0 use for the faculty of intellect or any supposed power one manages to amass. I hope your head doesn't explode, and may all your dreams come true. Didn't you know? They can only hear me louder from down here in the well. You're too kind.

It seems you've awoken from one dream, yet remain deep in slumber within the next. Experience is the proverbial snake in a rope. Watch out all you little egos, the big boy is here. And there are those that never touched pages or heard teachings, yet spontaneously abide "freely" without so much as a guru's glance. It is one thing to have self-knowledge, and it is quite another to presume one has known others without self-knowledge. The latter characterizes the epitome of ignorance. The Adept is self-shining and ever present. He knows nothing of profit or loss, remembering or forgetting, birth or death. And He certainly finds no difference between himself and the 10,000.
