What is the energetic cost of practicing Magic?
SeekerOfHealing replied to smallsteps's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Magic is kind off like science, there are only forms limited to it's own mechanics. You can not "make up things" so there are only forms related to it's own mechanics. -
Singapore is mostly Zheng Yi tradition, do you practice in it flowing hands? It would make sense then why there can be disagreement between Xiao Yao Pai.

What is the energetic cost of practicing Magic?
SeekerOfHealing replied to smallsteps's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Also I would not classify OTO and Golden Dawn as magic too - they are results of misunderstanding of magic nature and mechanics which are related to our reality. Magic is very hard to practice and pretty dangerous - once you are recognized by spiritual world and you driving there without license all kind of messed up things will appear in your life. To practice magic you need license that other spirits can recognize - otherwise if they see you are fraud acting like you have one then you will be in trouble. anybody interested in magic should ignore 19-20th century or even some from 18th century books or things related to the topic. -
What is the energetic cost of practicing Magic?
SeekerOfHealing replied to smallsteps's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
I do not know nothing about modern magic. There are only two types of magic. Ceremonial magic which are related to the demons or higher intelligence (angles) Sympathetic magic which works on the occult substance of herbs, gems, images etc. They only cost to practice is right knowledge and tools which are costly. Side effects can appear from negative backslash of spells/spirits related to our workings - that's it. There is no other cost then our mistakes. Generally magic do not base on our energy, Qi, dan tiens and nothing like that. Magic is always based either on occult sympathy of things or being authoritative in the eyes of spirits. None of qigong, meditation, yoga etc. can affect magic because it's something different. -

Emptiness is solution and non-dwelling (wu wei) -
Without emptiness you are not cultivating jing-qi-shen but burning them by activities and post-natal methods.

What type of magic you asking? Some cost one way, some cost another way. -
You can not learn Neidan from books if you ask about it. Unless it's cook-book with all instructions which are probably in Chinese and sometimes they need teacher too. I think you are asking for impossible - that why path of awareness like buddhism is pretty universal and can be learned from books because it's mostly xing related, but to cultivate ming you need true teacher. There is Long Men Pai english books with all practices out there from wang liping tradition but most of them are post-natal.

Actually it is possibile. If you are in deep connection with Tao people will cry and be happy without reason when you are around because the Qi can become very strong that people get affected. -
All chronic diseases have remission thru practice Flying Phoenix, I can guarantee that with my hand - cut it off if I'm lying, the thing is you do not know when it happens because it's happens over-night. I had pretty bad conditions and they getting better and better but only when the Qi really sink into the body, it's can take time to settle. Sometimes even month of regular practice seems doing nothing besides shaking, weird heat effects but after you woke up - you will see you are different person with different feel of existence but this stuff is hard work in the sense you really need to practice it, the best is 1-2 hours if you are serious about healing yourself and really do not hold expectation as it's work mysterious ways on it's own. Sometimes after practice you will see things in Ultra HD effect like on LSD or something, sometimes you will feel heavy or "bad" sometimes you will feel different way. It's like balancing journey into middle way but it's work on it's own. It's takes time and patience to really sink into effects but you get "spiritual skills" (gong fu) with time to sink with your mind into that energy and tap that even without doing physical moves you can actually do practice in your mind with similar effects.

Lovingkindness Meditation - A Western Scientific Approach
SeekerOfHealing replied to gatito's topic in Buddhist Discussion
I used to laugh at metta in the sense how 4 verses can change things - it's like cheating yourself? Then I just tried and metta is the best foundation to meditation ever. Liberates mind and body. Heals and everything. That's why I test everything now no matter how ridiculous it's looks or sounds. -
Hah, thanks for good laugh.

Some general notes about "Ming Gong"
SeekerOfHealing replied to sillybearhappyhoneyeater's topic in Daoist Discussion
"Usually Ming gong is practiced by quieting the mind and causing the consciousness to seem to vanish. In a sense, this is like sleeping while awake, and only enough intention is required to keep the mind from drifting off, but not so much attention is needed that the mind would be artificially made alert" Where did you get that? -
Zheng Yi have no neidan practices. (in Singapore branches at least)

There is some way to recognition what type of initiation I could have or force which moves me similar ways to your school? I do not need proofs as I can see and I can tell that's this school is legit. The most important thing is that this school do not force you or have rules for you to become spiritual freak. I like being normal, eating my meat and living life like regular person (in middle way of course), like working no need to worry to sit in cave and detach from society - but that's maybe me because I can handle it well without much fuss I also like chan/zen approach to this also that true chan/zen is in society no in cave like Hakuin said. In Wu Liu Pai to attain yang shen you need to have some people to pamper you in cave, bring you food and "face the wall". Looking at it from realistic view... most people will not attain it that way. Effi I respect you too much to do such experiments and stuff like this. I'm not refuse but it's not matter of trust. Most of schools here are secretive and hiding from results and only look down on people - here is black on white everything clear and pristine. The only thing which gives me now second thoughts it's if my initiation can bother with Xiao Yao Pai initiation or they overlay each other.- 242 replies

The recognition also comes from Long Men Pai, Wu Liu Pai (that why it's weird for me that they attack XYP) and Wudang traditions all my friends related to those traditions recognize XYP as legit school. The question is here not about legitimacy I think but how do we measure that this school is The Way to attain Dao - this we can not know really, we can only deduce on our feeling related towards something, but nobody will really know if it's really "this" unless they come to the level of practice to say that. there is certain trick to use to see the spirit if they really comes in what form etc. but those are related to maoshan so I will not post exact things here. There are zhan zhuang for yuan qi and union of yin and yang. I must not agree with fellow bummer about "scanning your body" or anything. In authentic teachings zhan zhuang is always connected to ru jing which means emptiness. No need to scan or be mindful of anything, zhan zhuang works only in pair with emptiness anything else will be obstructions.

Vipassana: What Kind of Insight Do I Get?
SeekerOfHealing replied to Rocco's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Insight means seeing nature of reality of seeing the Dao which vipassana triggers at certain point. For example if I say to you or you read that you do not exist (anatta) you will laugh and that I'm crazy, while doing vipassana you can actually can go to seeing it directly eg. insight. -

It's natural that people always search for better - it's called "optimization" in biology, you can not help it as every human is influenced by this part of aspect of the brain. Same goes for people in spiritual schools. I can tell you that my friend which under longmenpai master (not wang liping) probably would be taking initiation in XYP if they let him do ii and find him right person to do so. (I study under longmenpai teacher too and the results are pretty awesome but I'm not official student as I wanted only some healing methods and to replenish ming/yuanjing/yuanqi as I practice a lot of qigong and regular meditation). So yes those students want to have better results which they see (like me) Xiao Ya Pai can bring to them/me but not in greedy manner but you put yourself into practice - in that sense.- 242 replies

Sorry I was off a bit. What resources you would like to know ? In Han manuscripts related to methods of immortality Xiao Yao Pai methods are recognized as "recalibration of the body system of depolarization" as opposed taji cultivation focused directly od wuji energy. I will bring those manuscripts when I will find a title (my friend translated it for me from chinese when I was researching). Wudang traditions also recognize such practices. At the same time Xiao Yao Pai is official recognized as Taoist school (same with Wu Liu Pai etc.) Lineage in Xiao Yao Pai is celestial or heavenly mandate (which was already said) so to trace is different way then hou tian traditions when you have those lineages on the paper. Xiao Yao is translated as "blissful wanderers" or "free wanderers" (It have also couple more meanings) which some of them appears in the old manuscripts described as such with that art. Deep research in the academical sense of tracing is very hard because of celestial nature of the school but it can be research in the sense of authenticity - so if anybody have doubt that this school is not "official" or just fake-dao or something like that just did not do any research and base his judgement on the knowledge around his own school which can be very unreasonable. with little more time i will post some more things in chinese etc. but I'm not saying about methods or anything like that - if we are speaking just of Xiao Yao Pai in general - no doubt about it. From what I understand I read in those topics I see that's how the school is present in the west overlays with which I understand to be as authentic school based on materials before. Many students in china are silently interested in Xiao Yao Pai (I mean wu liu pai and longmenpai students which i personally know)- 242 replies
