BKA's guide on how to pickup women.... and lizard people
Taomeow replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
That's a form of parental neglect, which is a form of abuse of power. Healthy parenting safeguards against learning from peers anything counterproductive. Peers as a stand-off for parents and teachers are not equipped, they assume the role only in circumstances where there's no satisfactory parenting and teaching by parents and teachers taking place. This can do harm, no doubt, but this is the secondary source of harm, the primary source is the absence of true power-installing, power-infusing parenting and teaching. If parents failed to make a child powerful inside, the child will seek artificial circumstances to fake having this power. Peers can help fake it. Not their fault, theirs is exactly the same predicament. And parents, in their turn, are not equipped to give their children true inner power because they don't have it themselves. All they know is how to either be weak or make someone else weak, i.e. appear strong at the expense of taking power away from someone else. And this, in its turn, is a larger social set-up resonating into every family... -

Trauma-induced mind control is behind any and all attraction to any and all domineering control-freak types. Whether a woman or a man seeks to feel like a doormat OR to make someone else feel like a doormat, they are in exactly the same boat, they are just processing the same trauma in different ways. The doormat is still feeling like what they made him or her feel when he or she was small and helpless and totally in their power, the power they abused. While the make-someone-else-a-doormat type is removed from oneself one step farther and has unconsciously chosen to identify with the perpetrator, straightjacketing and gagging the real inner self that feels like a victim (and indeed is). Emotionally healthy people either didn't experience traumatic childhoods (I guess the last time it happened was, like, fifteen thousand years ago), or figured things out and worked on themselves in a fruitful albeit painful manner and normalized, and no longer feel the need to either repeat the victim performance or force someone else to play the part. Whenever I encounter a dominant baboon, I instantly know absolutely everything about his upbringing and feel very sorry for him. If I meet a yielding, soft type, I want to know what's behind the softness, strength or weakness. If weakness, I feel sorry for him too. But it's true inner strength behind outer softness, strength that is not afraid of coming across as softness due to the inner knowledge of absolute power at one's disposal, power that is not being abused by making someone feel small or forcing them to obey, power to protect rather than attack, that I find irresistible. A man who doesn't cultivate this may embody countless hours of huffing and puffing at the gym, or alternatively develop a weapon of a mind to use against whoever is weaker, yet I still see all that bulk as a shelter he has built so as to hide -- whether it's built out of brawn or out of brain, it's still a house of straw, and there's a scared little pig inside. -

I'm late to the thread... so could someone please explain: what is "chicks" anyway? Is it an age category? A set of personality traits? External appearance? The Chinese zodiac sign of the Rooster?.. Nevermind, I think I got it. A "chick" is a female perceived and approached from the premise that her being a human being is unimportant. But to the original idea. People occasionally read on subway trains and buses -- or at lest used to -- probably not anymore... haven't been on trains or buses much since the cell phone revolution... so anyway, in the era when they used to read on trains, at one point I spotted a book in some guy's hands, a sci-fi novel I hadn't read yet, by my favorite author. I glued my eyes to his page. I was trying to be discreet, yet he apparently noticed. After a while he had to get off, and before he did, he put the book on the seat in his stead and said, "Here, take it, but please return it to me a week from now, at such and such coffee shop, at such and such time." And he was gone. That, of course, was a date. So my advice to guys who are after gals, men who are after women, dufi* who are after chicks, etc., would be this: try to become aware of what the girl, woman, chick might want. Flex the muscles of your awareness. Try to approximate as closely as you can what would make her happy right now, this very moment. And then give it to her before asking for anything in return. This behavior is absolutely irresistible. *dufi: the plural of dufus -

If a Time Travel Machine is Built in the Future, Then..

Ah, so I'm not alone! Happens to me on occasion, it does. And Manhattan it was too where it happened for the first time! All of Manhattan disappeared as I was circumventing it on a bus headed to New Jersey. A fog descended, at first all noises were suddenly hushed, then the fog lifted and took all the skyscrapers, bridges, cars, power lines, lampposts, all of it -- as though it just dissolved. And I saw a pristine and breathtakingly beautiful island, basalt rocks and huge trees and colorful flowers and hills covered in carpets of blueberries, and animals and people, and a different sun, so white, no yellow hue... Then the bus took me out of range and I didn't know till the next day what I would find when I come to work (I worked in Manhattan at the time) -- will my place of employment at 3rd and Madison be a forest now, and my work, to scoop a salmon or two out of a brook for lunch and to gather a few bulbs of wild garlic to season it with?.. But no, it was "business as usual" again... I have this theory that Manhattan, standing on a solid basalt rock, almost crystalline in its hardness and perhaps some of its properties too, may be better than many other places in terms of recording the images of everything that went on there for as long as it stood there -- crystals are superb at recording stuff (all our civilization runs on quartz because of that), and perhaps you and I somehow got into a mode where they started transmitting too... And have you noticed that Manhattan is like an outgrowth of crystals -- its structure mimics and follows that very pattern, while other places that came to be built in a similar fashion merely mimic Manhattan. A very powerful place... power that can be used, power that can be abused, all kinds. Palpable. -

You are talking about the kind of time that is linear, flows in one direction, and exists in a universe that is solitary. This is not what modern science thinks anymore. You can go back and kill your grandfather if you like, and instead of a paradox you will get a bifurcation, which in its turn gives rise to another one and another and another -- the act of killing your grandfather will explode like a supernova into countless multiverses. In one of them the you who killed your grandfather does not exist yet was able to perpetrate this murder because for this particular universe it's business as usual to "edit" its own parameters, to oscillate back and forth between existences and nonexistences, with some of them becoming out of sync and overlapping. But in another, a few hundred thousand fishes, the posterity of that fish your grandfather helped you catch when you were nine, don't exist, yet they do exist in the newly created universe where your grandfather was killed before you were born AND before he took you fishing. And in their turn, each one of these fishes alters history by eating or not eating the tadpoles who will or will not become frogs who will or will not be shipped to France and will or will not give the prime minister a bad case of indigestion that will cause his temper to flare up at a politically crucial moment, provoking a war, which will or will not pull in more countries and then escalate into WWIII. So in the universe where WWIII is not happening, the prerequisite is your grandfather being taken out so his nonexistent grandson can't interfere with that fish that is destined to decimate the frog population and save the world. . -

There's a famous Zhuangzi story about a useless tree. "The trunk is so distorted, so full of knots, no one can get a straight plank out of it. The branches are so crooked you cannot cut them up in any way that makes sense.” The tree, being completely useless to those who would cut it down if it could be saddled with a "purpose," grew to an enormous size without fearing the carpenter's ax. It became home to countless creatures. The ground underneath, protected from the sun and the rain, became a shelter, a shrine, an earth-altar. The useless tree acquired a multitude of useful functions precisely because it had no purpose.

I hope you realize that this is satire and Vova Putin had nothing to do with writing the piece.

Cats are almost octopi. An octopus is the ultimate liquid. A cat is an octopussy.

I think, in addition to this being true, "high" level people also have quite the opposite effect on the "not-so-high" level folks (to put it very mildly). Or as Jonathan Swift expressed it, "When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him."

Liminal, the worst thing you can get from a map is a paper cut. And the self that writes the posts is the map... The territory -- well, imagine in your waking life you bang your elbow against the edge of a table that had somehow obnoxiously placed itself in your way. You didn't do anything to that table yet it hurt you. Well, what are you going to do about it? Nothing. You go, "Ouch!.. God damn it!.." and then forget all about it. That's the map. But then you have a dream and the dream-self actually dances right into the celestial palace of a certain god specializing, among other things, in damning tables, and points out the injustice that particular table had perpetrated. In the morning you wake up and the table's leg is broken. That kind of a territory...

And have you noticed -- our "real" becomes dream. It's isomorphic... The golden age was real once. Or childhood -- ours or someone else's. I have dreams of other lives, where everything is real except me of this-here life, who is a weird dream to the huntress of some 40,000 years ago, or to a spirit reader for a nomadic tribe, or to a much stranger person who finds me-of-this-life very strange too. Each one of these is a dream "here" but real "there," they have nothing on me, I have nothing on them -- just like a bead on a necklace of pearls has nothing on another bead, many more beads removed -- except the common string they are all revolving around, and the occasional reflections of one another they catch if you turn the necklace in such a way that you can glimpse them.

A few quick questions since you're posting in the thread you were asked to leave alone anyway. 1.You can't be "banned again" unless you've been banned before. Have you been banned before? The mod action regarding your recent activities consisted in a 48 hours suspension, to my knowledge. Am I missing something? 2. Who's the fat man you pay $4000 for tricks? 3. What's a "pillow boy?" 4. And who here called you that for not paying the aforementioned fat trickster? WIll be grateful for a clarification.

Thanks for the warm privet into the thread! My waking self and my dream self are also similar, the way the map and the territory are similar... The waking self thinks about stuff and observes and muses and, more often than not, decides against any action. The dream self doesn't think -- she acts. The waking self sees the dust settle after the fact, when the dream self is done and gone. And thinks, "wow, did I do that? I wouldn't.. I wouldn't dare... wasn't me..." Lots and lots of indigenous peoples have always believed that events of the waking world are arranged and planned in the dreamtime. In my case it's not a uniform spread -- some things my dream self does not intervene in at all. My waking self is supposed to work them out without any "supernatural" help, probably because they are things, events and entities of the artificial world, as un-anchored and random as the rest of the non-magical, civilized human stuff which has no roots in the miraculous and therefore is blown about with no rhyme or reason. But the dream self has her pet peeves, things that she will never let slide into the wasteland of the random and meaningless. On those, she acts close to one hundred percent of the time -- with repercussions in the waking world.

Have you ever suspected that your dream-self is up to something that she doesn't bother to inform your waking-self about? I often have. My dream-self seems to have a completely unbridled version of many of the traits my waking-self has suppressed, so much so that I sometimes suspect the waking-self is the dream, and the dream-self is reality. The waking-self has been taught to be, well, civilized. The dream-self, no. Hell no. What sometimes worries me is that some impulses of the waking-self that civilized life deems mandatory to inhibit may be acted upon by the uninhibited dream-self and affect the waking reality. But she does not inform the waking me because the waking me would freak out. However, I get some indirect evidence... ...does anyone know what I'm talking about?..

I was so broke then, I'd probably have to opt for living on the boulder, perhaps drinking rainwater and eating... um, lichen?.. I tried vibrams, was not impressed... but I made myself a pair of huaraches, the running shoes of the Tarahumara Indians, who are some of the best runners in the world and probably the best on mountainous terrain. The ones I made are only a prototype, flimsy (I used an old leather bag and a cork mat), but the comfort is unmatched -- barefoot essentially yet with your soles protected. The day I lay my hands on a piece of real thick leather, I'll make the real ones (Tarahumara are said to make do with even old tires, but they've had a kind of training I didn't, so I'll go for the classic.)
