  2. The Serpent - Satan?

Islam recognizes there classes of beings "higher" than humans: farishta (angels), shaitans (satanic beings) and jinn (demons or spirits). Khodams are sometimes angelic beings, sometimes jinn. Khodam is a function rather than a type. The function of a khodam is similar to that of an "ally" of shamanism or "familiar" of Western witchcraft, the difference being that animals are not employed as khodams. The common characteristic of farishta, shaitans and jinn is that they are made from one element (or substance, or as I prefer to call it, type of qi or wuxing phase) rather than from a combination of substances that constitute a human being. (In this regard, I find Prince Charles's Four Pillars of Destiny reading particularly interesting -- he has only two wuxing phases, Fire and Water. That's pretty close to not really being human...)
  3. Thank you... you are beautiful back at you! Here's something else that just went into my little bag of tricks... A new crop circle appeared in June, which aficionados of this art form have been interpreting as a coded message related to the BP oil thing. However, to me it deciphered itself as the I Ching hexagram 23 with a changing line in the 5th place, giving hexagram 20. Of course it's just one layer of the overall meaning, but that's interesting enough. Apparently we did wrong by the fish and it was noticed in other worlds, possibly by beings who are far more interested in dolphins and whales than they are in our species. Now these being are watching the developments closely. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=dwCuHj4ENQg

Me neither... and I'm one of them! In one of her SF books, Ursula Le Guinn (one of the better translators of the Tao Te Ching, by the way) describes a futuristic society where genetic modifications ran away -- everything alive was tampered with, supposedly to improve on it. The main protagonist explains why things like talking dogs they created were unbearable. The dog whom science had given human speech went something like, "I'm hungry, I love you, let's play ball, do you love me, I want love, I want chicken, I want sex, sex, sex, say you love me, I smell chicken, I'm hungry, I love you, I love you so much, do you love me, do you do you do you do you, say you love me, say it say it, sex sex sex sex love love love chicken chicken ball ball ball do you love me do you love me..."

Zhuangzi and his friend were walking along the river. 'Look at the fish,' Zhuangzi said with a smile, 'how they jump and somersault, they are enjoying themselves so much!' 'You are not a fish,' his friend said, 'you can't know if they are enjoying themselves.' 'You are not me,' Zhuangzi replied, 'you can't know if I know if the fish are enjoying themselves.'

Thanks. I went to quotes and found two that are noteworthy: "Great nations are simply the operating fronts of behind-the-scenes, vastly ambitious individuals who had become so effectively powerful because of their ability to remain invisible while operating behind the national scenery." and "Those who play with the devil's toys will be brought by degrees to wield his sword."
  9. What would you give up to live without oil?

There was a world without oil in existence once. In fact, all we ever knew till a little over a hundred years ago was a world without oil. What a happy place it must have been. E.g., in the 19th century, we had coal. An average miner worked a 14-hour day, seven days a week, but they also employed women and children for narrow places where a grown man couldn't squeeze in, and the latter worked 18-hour shifts, seven days a week, since their productivity was lower. The average age of a child hired for the job was 6. The average life span, 8. When will the public stop obliging the overlords?.. When it refuses to play the game of "the latest and the greatest scapegoat." I can name a couple hundred targets the public was led to attack in the past 15,000 years, decoys all of them, right off the top of my head. We've been running around chasing those ghosts quite diligently so far. I guess we're just this kind of species... blessed with tunnel vision, unable to see anything the overlords aren't pointing at. And they never, ever, ever point at themselves.

There's a prophet with a yummy name (Cream? Creme? Creme de la Creme? -- something like that) who says that, and his voice is the loudest I've heard, but he didn't strike me as credible and seems whacked out or maybe I misunderstood... in any event, Maitreya of my mysterious introduction was nothing like what I was able to find wherever else I looked. (It's just occurred to me I might tell my Maitreya story in the Personal Practice section...) Was it "Anatomy Trains" by any chance?
  11. Time to move on

Maybe some of the problem IS terminology. When buddhist terms are used in taoist contexts, e.g. "chakras" get thrown in which are not part of taoist anatomy and physiology of energy, "kriyas" which disallow a taoist analysis of the jing-qi-shen interactions involved in the phenomenon, "karma" which is at odds with about 90% of original taoist systems, and so on, it's about as helpful as calling a car engine "a chariot of fifty horses" -- yeah, there's similarities, but once you drive a car, knowing the anatomy and physiology of horses is not going to help you... and likewise, if you ride in a chariot pulled by fifty horses, knowing about the transmission and the gas pedal and the antilock brakes is not going to help you either. It's not that one is superior/inferior to the other (I happen to think that in the final analysis both are wrong -- the car-driving and the horse-abuse-driving) -- it's just that one is not the other and neither benefits from mixing them together. Or, the way an early Taoist physicist put it, "it's as true as that the ox is not a horse."

Yup, in a perfect world, that's what would be happening. Buddhists would be working on perfecting their minds instead of on changing ours. I, a taoist with strong proto-taoist shamanic leanings, am interested in one buddhist thing only, not because I'm ignorant (who of the Westerners doesn't come from buddhism when it comes to Eastern philosophies/religions?.. we all started there, it's just that some of us didn't stop there...) but because I know myself (know thyself!) for what I am, a taoist with a shamanic slant, or maybe vice versa... tens of thousands of years removed in my "ideology" from the chronological birth of the buddha (which, incidentally, coincides with my own birthday... plus I have a buddha-shaped birthmark... and if THIS didn't make a buddhist out of me, nothing will!). But I have genuine taoist and shamanic reasons to be interested in one buddhist thingie because it was mentioned to me by a supernatural entity in a shamanic context, so I had to pay attention. Maitreya. I want to know about Maitreya from a reliable source. I want to hear Maitreya chants. And I dare not ask here because I dare not ask the buddhists about anything, because I'm afraid I'll get another round of sermons instead of the specific information I'm looking for. Taoists occasionally respond to the actual query at hand with helpful information. When buddhists chime in, they contribute ideology, the party line. I'd love to be proved wrong one day, but so far, no luck.
  13. Imagine the human brain, divided as we all know into the left and right hemispheres in charge of totally different tasks, as the double-headed eagle of the kind you see on all kinds of imperial regalia: -- one head is permanently looking to the left and the other one is forever looking to the right -- so neither one sees the whole picture. A whole-brainer is capable of coaxing both eagle's heads to turn to each other, look each other in the eye without flinching, and communicate to each other what it is they saw. What I'm trying to do is just that.
  14. Gulf Oil Spill & Continuous Outpour

It used to be under the ocean floor, not directly under water, but BP drilled into that, according to Simmons. But in any event, crude oil is composed of many fractions, from volatile gases lighter than air to concentrate that is heavier than water.

  16. I'm not making a point, I'm trying to put together a puzzle some of whose pieces I can see. I'm hoping someone has the pieces I don't have, or sees the ones I'm not looking at, and might help me. E.g., Vortex pointed out the 5 phases dynamics, that's something I overlooked to look at even though it's simple and straightforward... Steam gave me the idea of possible HAARP involvement though it wasn't his intent... (...sorry Steam, I know you weren't trying to add this kind of Light... but since some alchemical processes I'm a bit aware of go in the opposite direction of the one you described, it gave me this idea to look for any possible electromagnetic manipulations... I did find one video, don't know if I should trust it, puzzle, puzzle, pieces of the puzzle...) Rain provided a list of elements to look at -- I might check for alchemical planetary correlations, e.g.... Like I said, I don't know what I'm looking for, I'm trying to understand what it is I'm looking AT... ...and it's been my lifelong experience that there's zero chance of that if the sources I look at are strictly "official." Did you know, e.g., that ALL media globally is owned by 5 major corporations and BP is one of them?.. So what are you going to learn about anything happening anywhere if you read their newspapers and watch their TV and go to their quackademia for that matter?.. Only what they want you to "learn." No ulterior motives of course, one hundred percent honesty and ethics and your personal and our universal well-being on their mind, no doubt. Funny they don't let any independent journalists to approach the site... but who needs independent info, we can be just happy with someone bigger-wealthier-more-powerful doing all our thinking for us, why worry our lil' brains?.. That, in a nutshell, is it.
  17. Thank you, Paul -- yes, a broken vessel in an alchemical process engaged in too vigorously (greedily) is apparently a very common "complication" -- even in taoist internal alchemy. A Dragon Gate instructor told me that historically, over 800 members of the sect died from doing its alchemy wrong before the methods were carefully perfected. (Of course each of them exposed no one but himself/herself to the dangers... unlike our petrochemical alchemists.)

    Happy trails...
  20. No, not silly at all! Apt... I don't know about cyborgs... cyborgs are after all meant to function using whatever is used inside them... while we, with all the toxic goodies cumulatively accumulating in our bodies, only seem to mal-function from the addition... but in terms of flattened emotionality and dumbed-down senses, yes, it does look like we are led toward bridging the gap between human and man-made... I am reminded of that burning cyborg that rushes out of the nuclear plant catastrophically (though accidentally) sabotaged by Homer Simpson screaming, "WHY?.. WHY was I programmed to feel pain?!.." There's two theories of what oil is... Dead wood -- the prevalent doctrine -- which if true makes it one of the classic qigong/TCM, etc., hazards to qi... "Above all, avoid accumulation of dead wood in your body." Or -- a more recent theory -- abiotic oil (Russian success finding it exactly where they look for it by following this theory gives it some empirical credibility -- as well as does irreparable damage to any and all politics and policies based on the idea of its supplies being limited and near-exhausted -- ) -- this, if true, may mean oil is as native to the body of earth as blood is native to the human body -- in which case my first reaction to the gusher news (what if they nicked an artery?..) is cold-sweat-worthy in its own right. By the way, a youtuber seems to have accessed my morphogenetic field (or a personal akashic record) to come up with the same alchemical idea a day after I posted it here. If you're gonna watch it, turn the music down, it's very annoying, and be forewarned that the author is apparently a Rapture-oriented Crhistian...but the timing looks interesting to me synchronicity-wise...
