This can be determined by the sense of energy. Many people are sensitive to energy in varying degrees. But the practice of a good method of working with energy is necessary for the development of such sensitivity. Our body and spirit are tools to feel something that can not be seen with our eyes. Also, knowledge of the principles of Feng Shui will be useful.

Yes, an interesting trick. He has many different activities that divert attention. Well I'll look for an answer further. There are another video with him in better quality. It is longer (full show) and not so dynamic, but if you liked the previous video with this illusionist , then it will also be interesting to watch it.

After I started practicing regularly, I changed my way of life. And gradually I became less likely to communicate with my friends, because it was no longer interesting to spend my time like I did before. But there is also a positive, I continue to communicate only with the closest people with whom I have something in common, and in the same way I have improved relations with my relatives. And the others go in a different direction, so it seems to me harmonious that I stopped communicating with many old acquaintances.

I'm not a Taoist, either, but I use chopsticks. It is much more convenient than forks, in many cases. It is convenient to take pickled vegetables and fruits from cans, such as olives, tomatoes and others. It is also convenient to use chopsticks when preparing food. For example, I constantly use them when breading meat in starch, and it turns out much better than when you do it with your hands. We can eat slower with using chopsticks, it's important for digestion and also to not miss the moment when you're already full.

A good show is an illusionist. I still do not understand how he does the trick with the levitating ball.

I remembered in the last post about George Washington Carver. I often remind the story of him as an example of how a person with an open heart can achieve a deep understanding of nature and interact with the outside world. From book Secret LIve Of Trees by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird: "From the time he was able to get about by himself in the countryside young Carver began to display an uncanny knowledge of all growing things. Local farmers in Diamond Grove, a tiny community in the foothills of the Ozarks in southwestern Missouri, remembered the weaklooking boy roving for hours through their holdings, examining plants and bringing back certain varieties with which he could miraculously heal sick animals. On his own, the child planted a private garden in a remote and unused bit of bottomland. With the remnants of coldframes and other stray material he built a secret greenhouse in the woods. Asked what he was forever doing all by himself so far from the farmyard, Carver replied firmly if enigmatically, "I go to my garden hospital and take care of hundreds of sick plants." Farmers' wives from all over the countryside began bringing him their ailing house plants, begging him to make them bloom. Gently caring for them in his own way, Carver often sang to them in the same squeaky voice which characterized him in manhood, put them in tin cans with special soil of his own concoction, tenderly covered them at night, and took them out to "play in the sun" during the day. When he returned the plants to their owners, and repeatedly was asked how he could work his miracles, Carver only said softly: "All flowers talk to me and so do hundreds of little living things in the woods. I learn what I know by watching and loving everything." And one else: "Carver's students were greatly impressed that each morning he would rise at four 0' clock to walk in the woods before the start of the working day and bring back countless plants with which to illustrate his lectures. Explaining this habit to friends, Carver said, "Nature is the greatest teacher and I learn from her best when others are asleep. In the still dark hours before sunrise God tells me of the plans I am to fulfill."

Movement of sexual energy Taoiost vs. Buddhist (Tummo)
Pavel Karavaev replied to yugenphoenix's topic in General Discussion
Seems like sexual energy here сould be mud (or rough). For me it is not good idea to transport it up to the brain. I guess that head must stay as clean as it possible. Yes. I absolutely agree with this part. Мastership in working with opening channels, will give an opportunity to always balance your state, and be healthy. If the method you are learning is good and balanced, it will bring comfort and pleasure to the senses, and you can gradually explore the energy of your body. -
Bruce Lee's sparring against an opponent in the semi-contact mode. An interesting video material with analysis:
-
Exactly. Of course a good technique, worked out blows, combat experience - all this will be an advantage. So much depends on the experience and skills of opponents. Possibly. But in any case, it's more pleasant to have dinner with an unbeaten face.
-
How good was Bruce Lee's technique in a real?
Pavel Karavaev replied to Pavel Karavaev's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I did not know about it. Yes, seems like that. Bruce Lee had blows attacks, which are very similar to fencer attacks. I think with his speed and reaction he would be an excellent fencer. -
I have not heard of this book before. Going to read it, thank you! I read a similar named old book about plants. It called The Secret Life of Plants: A Fascinating Account of the Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Relations Between Plants and Man by Peter Tompkins, Christopher Bird https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/99442.The_Secret_Life_of_Plants It certainly has contentious information. But overall I liked it. Especially the head of George Washington Carver and the head "Plant Alchemists".

According to my feelings music activates human emotions, and with emotions we also lose energy. When I started practicing, I noticed that I almost stopped listening to music in about half a year. When I was at home, I just enjoyed the silence, and very rarely I had a desire to listen to any music, and when I was doing something I stopped using music as a background (like many people do). But in general I think that this is individual and I think you should listen to music if you like it. The main thing is to had enough silence for balance. Sincerely, Pavel.

Thanks for the awesome theme. I made a lot of interesting things about birds. Many of your photos with birds are just perfect. I like the variety of sounds that starlings sing. It's amazing that they can represent any sounds. Many domestic starlings can even understand people and talk to them. These birds have a lot of qi. On the video, I like how the body (and feathers) of the starling changes while it sings. For example, this can be clearly seen from 4:30

The more you try to be good, the more bad will follow
Pavel Karavaev replied to TheCLounge's topic in The Rabbit Hole
It is because of Yin and Yang principle. The things must balance each other. Here is a good parable about it (one of the many): "The Keeper of Animals under King Hsüan, of the Chou dynasty, had an assistant named Liang Yang, who was skilled in the management of wild birds and beasts. When he fed them in their park-enclosure, all the animals showed themselves tame and tractable, although they comprised tigers, wolves, eagles and ospreys. Male and female freely propagated their kind, and their numbers multiplied. The different species lived promiscuously together, yet they never clawed nor bit one another. The King was afraid lest this man's secret should die with him, and commanded him to impart it to the Keeper. So Liang Yang appeared before the Keeper and said: 'I am only a humble servant, and have really nothing to impart. I fear his Majesty thinks I am hiding something from you. With regard to my method of feeding tigers, all I have to say is this: when yielded to, they are pleased; when opposed, they are angry. Such is the natural disposition of all living creatures. But neither their pleasure nor their anger is manifested without a cause. Both are really excited by opposition.'In feeding tigers, then, I avoid giving them either live animals or whole carcases, lest in the former case the act of killing, in the latter the act of tearing them to pieces, should excite them to fury. Again, I time their periods of hunger and repletion, and I gain a full understanding of the causes of their anger. Tigers are of a different species from man, but, like him, they respond to those who coax them with food, and consequently the act of killing their victims tends to provoke them. This being so, I should not think of opposing them and thus provoking their anger; neither do I humour them and thus cause them to feel pleased. For this feeling of pleasure will in time be succeeded by anger, just as anger must invariably be succeeded by pleasure. Neither of these states hits the proper mean. Hence it is my aim to be neither antagonistic nor compliant, so that the animals regard me as one of themselves. Thus it happens that they walk about the park without regretting the tall forests and the broad marshes, and rest in the enclosure without yearning for the lonely mountains and the dark valleys. Such are the principles which have led to the results you see.'" -
According to previous post/ Visual material: This street fighter has stood against several opponents, because he kept the distance well, and not allowing them to get him. Just at critical moments, he moved well and did not allow opponents to surround himself . Of course, opponents were not so sober and disorganized, but the situation was real and very dangerous.

Yes, as I said even when you look at the rainbow you can see much more than on the photo. In the photo, the rainbow becomes less voluminous and flat. In general, when I look at the rainbow, I perceive it as something similar to a bubble in a puddle. And people see only one colored arc of this bubble.

Ancient Chinese Ball Game Cuju Is Earliest Form Of Modern Football
Pavel Karavaev replied to Pavel Karavaev's topic in The Rabbit Hole
The team that got the most goals won. Successful kicks were rewarded with drum rolls, pennants and wine - maybe something the Premier League should consider? It all sounds a bit static compared with watching Neymar and Messi, and as you'd expect in a Confucian society, kickball clubs were keen on the key virtues of benevolence and courtesy. A great player was one who embodied "the spirit of the game". The "Ten Essentials of Kickball" included respect for other players, courtesy and team spirit. There was to be no un-gentlemanly behaviour, no dangerous play, and no hogging the ball. In other words, as we used to say, "Play up and play the game." -

If you are attacked by a group, it is important to immediately understand who their leader is and attack him first, if you manage to neutralize him first, then others can be embarrassed and attack could be end at these point. It is also important to always keep distance, as boxers do. Do not let yourself be surrounded by attackers. Do not start to wrestle, and do not give yourself to grab, otherwise you may be dropped and just kicked with legs by others. Take care.

I understand you . But it seems to me that it is not right to get discouraged and concentrate on the negative. In any case, if you want to change something, then you need to act no matter what. Of course, it's impossible to change everyone, but if you help a few people it's already better then nothing. And yes, as already mentioned here, one must follow one's heart. Sincerely, Pavel.

I think there is different methods can give similar results in Daoist techniques. I use one of the varieties of static work (Zhang Zhuang) to fill and restore energy. To succeed in this method, practice of Qigong exercises. It helps me to achieve graet relaxation of my body and open all energy channels. Such opening of the body can significantly increase the quality of energy collection. Also, for a better quality of refill energy, it is good to practice on nature, in good and strong places. However, there is difficulty - Zhang Zhuang is necessarily to practice under the supervision of a teacher or an experienced instructor, since if you practice alone, then there is a risk of getting serious deviations in health.
