Hiya! When I started down the path of learning Taoism I stumbled upon a concept of destiny or ming. Since then I feel like I am obsessed over this intricate subject. Ming is a destiny and also a vitality. How does it correlate with jing, chi and shen? Any ideas, thoughts?

Currently important to me. When is it ok to lie acording to your understanding of Daoist scriptures?
Kara_mia replied to Ervin's topic in Newcomer Corner
I agree. Lying or not lying is not a simple choice of morality. If practice is genuine, then it should change a person inside, and he or she would not consider anything from the mind, but will think and decide by heart. The more pure heart is, the less person could lie, up to the point when a lie would become uncomfortable physically. Best regards, Kara -
Warm bath for feet is beneficial for the health in terms of cleansing. Warm water helps to activate blood circulation , and open up energetic channels, hence energy flow activates too. Which in its turn, helps to get rid of bad chi from the body. However, it should not be done straight after or before meal, also not if alcohol was consumed and if too tired. Best regards, Kara

I am searching because this is my soul's inner wish - and also an awareness (or inner knowledge so to speak) that life is finite and not much of it is left. Regards, Kara

Location of Heaven and Earth When Horizontal
Kara_mia replied to rideforever's topic in Daoist Discussion
If consider triad in human body, then heaven is a head, earth are legs, and man is a body between these to. Best regards, Kara -
Self-massage Qigong can be beneficial. I've seen a good self-massage activating the gull bladder meridian - tapping down the legs outside for 5-10 minutes. This to be done better during the first half of the day and not later than 20:00, I believe. Regards, Kara

I agree with that. Nature is an art indeed. And art and inspiration come from the abandunce of energy.

Why do i feel lighter after eating a vegetarian diet, and grounded/heavy after eating lots of meat?
Kara_mia replied to Ryan94's topic in Healthy Bums
I also crave meat mostly in cold and winter seasons. I believe, more helthier would be not to eat according to some scheme but eat according to urges or "cravings" similar as pregnant women do. -

Interesting and useful information, thanks a lot! -
Mint tea belongs to lighter teas. It refreshes a lot, and has a direct effect on lungs. Lungs, in accordance with wu xing sequence, belong to Metal. Metal in terms of Qi characteristics, makes Qi to move, therefore when you drink mint tea you feel relief and refrehment - it makes Qi to move facter and eases blockages.

It depends... For example, ginger tea is great to warm up but it is also quite depleting. I mean, when you got cold, drinking ginger infusion would help you to recover quick but at the expense of spending your inner energy. When you feel tired it is wrong to drink something like ginger tea - this actually against yin and yang. If a person feels tired, it means a cycle/rhythm changed, from wakeful working state to resting state. The best thing in this case would be to have rest - either to walk alone in nature, or have some good food and nice tea, no reading, no Internet, no forums If you feel cold a lot or tired often, that means lack of energy due to wrong day regimen and tension. Ginger tea could be an option if you got cold because of the weather or was caught by a rain but it should not be overused.

They who know me are few, they who take a cue from me are precious (rare). It is thus that the sage wears (a poor garb of) hair cloth, while he carries his (signet of) jade in his bosom.

Ginger tea is a yang tea indeed. And it should mostly be drank in the winter time or cold seasons, so you "craving" for it in those seasons is very reasonable. As for yin tea - all green tea is yin. Also rooibos tea is yin. As a rule of thumb, everything that makes you feel warm and energized is yang, and anything that makes you feel chilled, calm are yin. Milk for example is yin.
