Reminds me of some internet meme: you are special, just like everyone else.

Thelerner..I try to remember to be mindful to be thankful for each new day. And sometimes, I'm really thankful when my day is over. :-P

Yes. Christian, pagan, Muslim, atheist, ohhh. I forgot Diwali, kwanza and indigenous celebrations... And even though atheists don't necessarily say "holy/sacred/etcetera," it is, in some fashion or other, for all mentioned and some not, a season if the return of light, within us. Too bad we sometimes forget to carry it beyond our new years.

I ran across this today, while searching for something else. I've no idea when it was posted, and it doesn't really matter. I just found it interesting, and thought I'd share. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Why-is-everyone-so-mean-these-days-17895.shtml

Careful, Metal Tao. I've seen people "justify" cruel and cold indifference/apathy by way of "Taoist/daoist not doing (or non-taoist/daoist various other abhorrent callousness)." Pushing the point tends to bring out the worst in people like this, in my personal experience.

That's right. I've a nice dish in the oven. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you, too, for your kindness and good wishes. I appreciate that.

Happy Yule/solstice/Saturnalia/Chanukah/Christmas. And if it's not so happy for some, know I'm holding you close in thoughts. May be very little, and cut comfort, but it's the best I can manage, right this time.

Good luck, Rara. I hope you're not disappointed by your act of good will. You may or not be. I may be offline, for a bit, please know I'll be back, eventually. I'll be spotty, through coming days, but feel free to PM if you need to do that. I'll answer when I can. In the meantime, please know you are not completely alone. I'll be thinking of you.

I'm really curious about what posters in this thread think about the water protestors endorsing and being endorsed by BLM and BDS. Not the feels, but the thinks.

I think it's okay to keep contact with abusive family members to a minimum. It's okay to include yourself in your compassion. It's really okay to ask people who disrespect you, your home to leave. I have friends oceans away, and I love them. I can love family members from a few/hundred miles away. And if they get nasty on the telephone or email it whatever, I can end the conversation easier.

England was social Democrat, till Tony became Bush's lapdog.

"Perhaps you could point out one?" Carlos Slim, check out his FTC records, or search news. He doesn't even employ Mexicans, because Filipinos work cheaper, and don't deviate from the script.

Jedi mind trick.

So, I made that phone call, had to leave a message. In the meantime, I got an email from the forum, saying white rabbit has replied to an earlier post. Clicked the link, was taken to a page that said I'm not allowed to view the topic. Really? Lol'd. That's why people on Facebook are so woefully full of disinformation! Block anyone who is of differing opinion, friend EVERYONE who agrees with hive mind. Dao Bums are awesome! Thanks for enlightening us all with your immortal wisdom! So glad you made *logical* posts, so that I can see the truuuuue way! :-D

Not red? For kicking butt?! Blue jackets or hats, white tees, and red boots should do it. Nothing says americ... Wait, I can't type that word, here. Nothing says exceptionalist, like red, white and blue, hunh? :-P I do rather prefer to laugh, than cry tears of despair. Which, in real, actual life today was a bit of a challenge. Still, I'm smiling, now. Nope. Grinning. Still, your point is noted. I'll let that percolate, as well.

Thank you for your permission, Brian. I'm not sure I needed it, but it's nice to have it, just the same.

I've read comments in my short time here about angry Russians, but seen no angry posts. Admittedly, I didn't dig deeply into the backlogs, just read threads interesting to me, from the beginning. Also just saw another post denigrating Russian Taoist teaching, and I've seen several. Why? What makes people so sure a Russian can't be a decent Taoist? Also the alchemy stuff. For a site that seems to love Putin (he's a man, and intelligent, no more, no less, to me... politics aside), it seems like a lot of hostility is directed toward Russian members. The Russians I've met, real life, or "met" online seem really decent, nay, really warm and generous people, but often very direct, which I actually appreciate. Am I missing a backstory?
-
Maybe. Thank you. Or, maybe it's a cop-out, like pro-lifers that only care about life before it's born. I don't know. I'll let it percolate, though.

So very apropos. And logical.

No way, but they do get to comfort each other with "you are right, they are wrong." Here's the thing: we're all us, we're all them.
