How can I take the poll, when we are allowed one answer, and I have many? None of them seem any more or less important, to me. If I choose one, I'd be a liar.
-
Oh. We can only choose one answer. Sorry, I've a few answers.

Quaballah - Tree of Life question
mvingon replied to mvingon's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Thank you, OldWolf. I'll check them out. -
Thank you for thoughtful replies. I don't think they should necessarily be permanently banned. That's not my place, and I'd probably hang myself (I joke), if I had to moderate this list. Mods have quite a bit too handle here, from what I've seen. On to not being part of a clique: great! I look forward to people applying logic and critical thinking to their pet ideas in the mundane world. It's wanting. Finally, there's an old-timers' adage: hit dog yelps first. None of this is wisdom, out ESP, or any of that sort of thing. It's just plain old experience, observation and sense. I'd have said "common sense," but it seems more and more rare. People are ignorant and proud of it. That good old Southern Strategy had spread way beyond the South, and that is exactly as it was planned.

Quaballah - Tree of Life question
mvingon replied to mvingon's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Thank you. I wasn't into quabala either, til I recently started a book by Israel Regardie, about Golden Dawn. I didn't even know I was that interested in that, until words and images in the first chapter started jumping out at me. I'll follow your links. Thanks again. -
Thanks. Well my analogy, which I used the Christian Bible to make was hidden. Guess that was considered off topic. The reply was also hidden. I'm still laughing. It's okay, I'm done with it. Screenshots, if you want them. I don't feel they need to be made public. "Always leave a exit route, unless you intend to slaughter or be slaughtered." I don't know who said it. Someone smarter than me.

How to not Hate but Love and Enjoy Sorrow (negative feeling)?
mvingon replied to Shad282's topic in General Discussion
This. A million times, this. I would make one small distinction. Since Muslims can be of any race, I feel it's simply Islamaphobia. But we see from some posters, they won't accept words ending with "phobia." I'm open for a better word. An aside: Jesus was a Jew (if Jesus even existed). Some Jews have white skin, others have black skin. Same with Muslims, Christians, etcetera. Thank you for this post.- 29 replies

I thought so too. Same thing. Then I thought, maybe I clicked the wrong link. No. It is what it is, and to me, that's funny. At least I got awake with a laugh, this morning. Grinning ear-to-ear, now. Not bothering to message the admin. Cliques abound, and if I have to agree with everything people want me to agree with, to be in the IN clique, it's just not going to happen. I'll tell the truth as I see it, and if more information and logic and critical thinking changes my mind, I'll correct what I've said, if I remember posting misinformation or disinformation. But I'm simply not falling all over myself and anyone else to fit in. That said, if I need more information on something to form an informed opinion, I'll ask and search the internet. Thanks for your reply.

Quaballah - Tree of Life question
mvingon replied to mvingon's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Yes I did. Unfortunately, I don't get it, but we'll see what happens next! I did some reading. According to Wikipedia, Chokmah light is supposed to be grey, hesed/chesed is supposed to be blue. I'm totally lost. Would you please explain more, at your inclination, of course? I don't have a practice, yet. I haven't even learned the basics, or even which is the proper spellings! Thank you. -
Me too, my friend. We'll see what the heavens align for us!
-
Okay. I'll read about it later, then. I do appreciate your patience. Thanks again.

Good! This isn't a personal question. I'm just very new to Tao/Dao. I've read various translations of the ddc/ttc but that's about it. If you choose to explain a bit about the five stars here, that's fine with me. Wherever you're most comfortable. Thank you.

Thank you, awaken. A cursory search didn't seem to turn up much, but I've got to start mundane tasks, soon. I'll try again, later. If you have time and want to do so, can you please give a brief introduction to these? Here, PM, email, anywhere is fine, with me. Thanks again.

http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/Chinese_Customs/taoism.htm I still don't understand.

What are the five stars, please?

My mistake, I understood Kar3n's answer, here, but I see more clearly now. It's just hostility toward anyone who doesn't go along with hive mind of the in clique. And couched in fancy, enlightened screen names of people with fancy, enlightened, complicated practice. Glad I didn't waste time on *that*! Even awaken, who doesn't make fancy claims with fancy words, was accused of being, 'I'm enlightened, you're not!" And she never said any such thing. A case of people getting offended, not being given anything to trip over. Here's what's enlightening, to me: confident people don't have to tear others down, in order to feel superior. Edited typos.

Timely, timely, for me! Thank you both!

While we know we the msm abdicated journalistic integrity, I'll leave some things here, that showed up in my email, this past week. Please apply critical thinking skills, in this thread, as other mundane topics. http://nytimes.com/2016/12/15/opinion/sunday/charlie-sykes-on-where-the-right-went-wrong.html https://twitter.com/RandySchoenberg/status/809529512689926145 http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/war-is-peace-freedom-is-slavery-trump-won-in-a-landslide/

Religions, the esoteric, and reaching divinity
mvingon replied to Loulie's topic in General Discussion
"Does anyone agree with me that religions' purest purpose is uniting the self with the divine?" Yes. But I could be wrong. -
Is it possible the "practice" or "religion" is merely the vehicle, not the destination? Or... forgive the cliché, the method is the finger, the realization the moon? I used to get hung up on the method, or religion, now, not so much. What difference does it make if my neighbor drives a Mercedes, and I am aged old third class car, a bike, my two feet, as long as it gets us where we need to be, and that's the only vehicle I have? That's the way I'm currently seeing it. I could change my mind, tomorrow. And I could be totally wrong. Just asking.

Kind of a tangent, kind of not. I've heard it said Satan is the same as Michael, that is, assigned to the Southern quarter, Lucifer Gabriel, assigned to the Eastern quarter, etc. That it is the intent of the energy, regardless of the name given. So if one does a negative work, even though Michael is the name called, Satan is the aspect of Micheal harnessing the energy. I'm probably explaining that all wrong, but wonder if quaballaists see it simarly, or if that's all wrong. Do quaballists do negative works, other than bind and return? Do they even bind/return? Very new to quaballah/golden dawn. Please forgive ignorance. Thank you.

The state of Russia is not the Russian people. The state may represent some Russians' attitudes and feelings, but not all. In the same way, the USA may represent some people's attitudes and feelings, but not all. Example: when I found out what USA and Israel did, together, with Iran's centrifuges, I wasn't surprised, but it was completely irresponsible and just set off a chain of like reactions. Sure, states do it to each other all the time, and there are reasons, not always good or bad. But it was just careless, in any event, at least in forethought and planning. And if anyone here thinks five eyes aren't watching the ordinary people... Yeah. It's the ordinary who are made to be examples; the elite sometimes get careless, bold, out simply stop caring. But the wary, cautious who leave no tracks survive.

Maybe the Tao/Dao hasn't desire. Does the unfertilized egg have the desire to be embryo, foetus, born, die, be preserved/decompose? Does it really matter? Will... That's a whole other story. Someone (no idea who, just remember the quote) said: Discipline is the difference between what you want, and what you want right now.

Lol'd. Maybe anyone can be too sensitive, depending on what's going on with them, at the time. I'm surely not a cuddly fluff bunny, at least outwardly all the time. That's dangerous. But I am definitely hi l hypersensitive, sometimes, and raise my hackles, where it's not always warranted. Sometimes, the least lovable are the most in need of serious love. Kar3n, I took no offense at "Russian school." I get it.
