Horror music in the background of health anouncements, Holy Crap! That is beyond wrong! But, weird manipulations of all kinds, do seem to be more plentiful lately.

Before I get myself in deep doo-doo here, I am in no way advocating the spread of the Coronavirus. I am presenting this for educational value to be projected forward over time. Pollution levels in China, you can easily detect the difference. Decrease in NO2 pollution in Italy. Feb: March: This is the data presented by the European Space Agency (ESA) that shows the same tendency Some changes were even visible with the naked eye: like the canals in Venice became crystal clear due to reduced traffic during the quarantine. COVID-19 is a nasty evil thing, and I really hope we get rid of it soon, but despite all the suffering, this lowered pollution part is good.
  6. Coronavirus survives on surfaces up to 72 hours. Here’s how to protect yourself By SHARON BEGLEY @sxbegle MARCH 19, 2020 Viruses didn’t become ubiquitous by being wimps: From the rhinoviruses that cause the common cold to the new coronavirus that has spread across the world, they are able to survive on surfaces far away from the living cells that they need in order to reproduce. How long they can lurk before a living organism comes along to infect depends on the kind of surface and the properties of the virus: The Covid-19 virus, according to a new study, sticks around on plastic surfaces for up to three days, but for a shorter period on metals. Rhinoviruses can survive on human skin for hours, which is why shaking hands with someone who has a cold is a good way to catch it. Influenza viruses remain infectious for up to 48 hours after landing on nonporous surfaces such as stainless steel or plastic such as that in computer keyboards, but that seems like the outer limit: A 2011 study found that the H1N1 flu virus that caused the 2009 pandemic could be recovered from glass, stainless steel, plastic, and aluminum for up to 48 hours, but most was gone after nine hours. Both cold and flu viruses survive for much shorter times on porous surfaces such as cloth, paper, or tissue, with very little infectious virus remaining after four hours. Viruses covered in “envelopes” have the most trouble surviving outside a living cell. On surfaces, the surrounding light, heat, and dryness break down the envelope, killing the virus. (Porous surfaces pull moisture away from viruses that land on them, accelerating the destruction of the envelope.) Most rhinoviruses have such envelopes; so do some influenza viruses. Norovirus doesn’t, enabling it to last longer in the environment. Then there’s the new coronavirus. Its survival on surfaces is similar to that of the SARS virus, to which it’s related. On plastic, after eight hours only 10% of what researchers deposited was still there, according to a study published on Tuesday in the New England Journal of Medicine. But the virus didn’t become undetectable until after 72 hours. On stainless steel, the numbers began plummeting after just four hours, becoming undetectable by about 48 hours. On copper and cardboard, virus was undetectable by eight hours and 48 hours, respectively. The fewer the virus particles on a surface, the lower the chances that someone touching it will become infected. But because the virus that causes Covid-19 is, like other microbes, so durable, throughly washing hands after touching surfaces that anyone else might have touched — or not touching them in the first place — is the first line of defense against infection.

Sir Palomides is a CCP apologist. A row that I would never want to hoe!
  8. Because in school, they have more opportunity, to become carriers and make other carriers and then they take it home to parents/grandparents/etc. on a much wider scale.

I reject your defining MY definition of freedom under any context. Citing all of those conflicts is a strawman argument so, for the sake of reason, I will not bother further with that. I agree that imperialism is bad, I will go even further and say that capitalism needs to be a more tempered capitalism/socialism. As for you defending the treatment of the Uyghurs: https://www.yenisafak.com/en/news/muslim-uyghur-survivors-recount-unspeakable-horror-in-chinese-internment-camps-3473216 https://www.theepochtimes.com/uyghurs-tortured-and-raped-in-chinas-re-education-camps-former-detainee-reveals_3126427.html https://www.uyghurcongress.org/en/muslim-uyghur-survivors-recount-unspeakable-horror-in-chinese-internment-camps/ https://luckboxmagazine.com/topics/sino-muslim-horror/ https://campaignforuyghurs.org/a-million-people-are-jailed-at-chinas-gulags-i-managed-to-escape-heres-what-really-goes-on-inside/ https://www.nationalreview.com/magazine/2018/05/28/china-uyghur-oppression-new-gulag/ I believe that making this your last post is probably in your best interests.
  10. Children are probably potential carriers, they just tend to be asymptomatic, which has its' own type of assiduousness. It will take much more testing to sort that all out.
  11. Propaganda War

More surveilance than anywhere else on the planet, social credit score, the Uyghurs' situation. These are all symptoms of an anti-freedom cancer that drains the human spirit. There are always realistic alternatives. It is often just very damn hard! Working toward freedom is always messy and can take centuries. I personally believe it is worth the sacrifice and I believe the CCP's goal is the opposite of freedom. The fact that, all through history, miilions of people willingly gave up their lives for freedom, often against overwhelming odds, tell me that the resistance against tyranny, is an intrinsic need of humanity's very essence. Communism as it has been applied so far in history is evil Bullshit! A hybrid, of some sort of communism or socialism, that is not a topdown elitism, might be superior to anything else here today. But, the CCP is not that.

I disagree. Not confronting anything that the rest of world may use as an excuse to curb freedoms through TOO extreme measures is far more bullshit
  13. I am not going to touch that one
  14. I said thank you for your civil response.
  15. I love the way you fill gaps.
  16. Not even close to the whole point. But, I thank you for a civil response.
  17. You need to educate yourself on communication skills since you are using a communication media. Here then lets try this: delete it is a stupid chart to: I disagree with this chart because----. So many people on TDB think that large exclamations and undue swagger is a sign of strength when it is the exact opposite. So many strong, intelligent people here on TDB, have been giving this lack of skills so much patience but, in this environment I find mine failing.
  18. Very useful. Thank you!
  19. coronavirus lethality and age

The coronavirus' mercy on children is a mystery to pediatric infectious diseases experts, who have a handful of working theories but no real answers for why. Normal coronaviruses seem to affect children and adults equally, but this one, for whatever reason, certainly skews more to the adult population. We've seen similar patterns for other diseases — chickenpox, for example. Adults who get it tend to get much more severe cases than children. There are possible explanations. Children, who are typically bombarded with certain other coronaviruses, such as the ones that cause the common cold, may have antibodies in their bloodstream from exposure to those that offers some cross-protection for this virus. Kids with this novel coronavirus, maybe they are responding like they would any other coronavirus, where they get a little runny nose, a little cough, or very mild symptoms, because they have seen coronavirus before, and maybe that provides them a little more protection. But with the new coronavirus--the virus seems to be transmitted efficiently, and yet, it still appears that younger kids under 10 years of age simply aren't getting the disease, or if they are, they're not getting too many symptoms. This does not mean that children can't transmit the virus to other, more vulnerable members of the community. As testing becomes more widely available in the United States, more cases in children are likely to be detected. Kids are faring better. What's their secret to their success? But that doesn't mean your child or any other child is not going to get sick, and it doesn't mean they can't get infected and spread the infection to other people who can get more sick. In the meantime, experts hope the immunity children are displaying will give them more clues about how the novel coronavirus behaves. What is it about children that makes them get mild or no symptoms, and older people get really sick?
  20. Systemic integration or social control is now based on satisfying rather than frustrating needs, the trick being that it satisfies needs that it itself creates.
  21. Balancing and conserving one's energies on all levels may be a lifesaver in this current enviroment.

  23. I agree with you. The only problem, here in Seattle, is that in winter and early spring, if the sun comes out, we all flee in fear from this distant and forgotten God.
