  1. What role does faith play in the taoist perspective?

We are civil people. Since there are many higher powers in the universe, I assume you mean a personified/religious higher power. I am not religious and I do not believe in religious faith either. I do believe though that atheism is just the flip side of the coin from religious faith. I am not picking at you. I am trying to point toward something for both of us. My communication skills are probably not up to it though.
  2. What role does faith play in the taoist perspective?

I'm going to be light on you this time. (I appreciate that. I shall return the favor). Yes, confidence is faith in one's capacities and capabilities. (Tao is between insecurity and confidence). But then, "show and tell time" offers the same results without faith. (The Tao has no show and tell time). Anything outside of Tao is an operation of faith.
  3. What role does faith play in the taoist perspective?

You and I have had a friendly sparring on faith before. Here I go again: Confidence is faith.

  7. Can anyone teach me Psychic techniques?

Outstanding post. If there is someone talking about certain powers and you can get pictures of them in the present and five to ten years ago and they seem to be aging very rapidly-- that is a huge red flag. Also, if there is a teacher that is living a long life but, most of his/her students are dying young, committing suicide or aging very rapidly after about 45+ years old-- also a huge red flag. Also, I have occasionally ran across the phenomena where "sages" die, and his/her students start aging much more rapidly than normal over the next ten years. If more student wannabes did more due diligence in this type of discovery, there would be a lot less grief for them in the future.

It was a joke. But, still as valid as anything you have or could use as a rebuttal. Scientific inductive reasoning is useless in these matters and philosophical deductive reasoning almost always fails in the actual application of the masses of humanity over time. But, if you have the time for another coffee and more discussion, it can be fun. You don't have to imagine, I am sure that in your long life you have been to movie houses that have stuck to your shoe.
