  2. Zen Practitioner

How many dark periods have you had Lima?
  3. Zen Practitioner

You have gone into a new winter season. This is very important because it signals a spring coming up.
  4. The Never Ending Dao

He has his own recipe. It does lean toward tolerance though.
  5. Already Tired of Ignorance

There are those whom come in and look around and start slowly, humbly and calmly peeling back layers. Then, there are those, that come in hammer and tongs, with their glass full and wonder why things don't turn out the way they expected. All of those layers are an arrogance screening apparatus of sorts.
  6. The Never Ending Dao

Marblehead, I grow to appreciate your role here more and more every day.
  7. Tao in the human world

Some researchers hope to find wormholes that connect to different sections of space-time. Woo-Hoo! String theory assumes at least ten dimensions. It is a mystery to me (but fun). example: The conscious flat square could only perceive lines. It would take a visit from the third dimension by a sphere to make the flat square truly aware of another dimension.

Marblehead, I can not just summarily dismiss three of the greatest minds of the last 100 years as smoking too much silly weed. I too, disagree with them. It also seems illogical to me. But, having said that, I also know that I think in a linear fashion in an infinite universe that probably does not have a linear source. It is my understanding that, the universe is a linear process emanating from the Dao. The Dao is a non-linear state of being. So, it follows: that to become more with the Dao, we must cultivate in ourselves, an ever more non-linear state of mind. Enlightenment may be nothing more than to be able to, mentally and spiritually, step in and out of linear processes. β€œIt appears, therefore, more natural to think of physical reality as a four-dimensional existence, instead of, as hitherto, the evolution of a three-dimensional existence.”--Albert Einstein I think I will go meditate on it or maybe not. I guess I will just do what feels right. 再见
  9. Tao in the human world

In physics, Past, Present, Future are all the same thing. But for us, time moves in one direction. The question of time's direction is an old one. Actually, Einstein, Feynman, and Hawking have all concluded that the past, present, and future exist at the same time. A well-known quote by Einstein after a good friend died was this "Now Besso has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." --- Albert Einstein IMHO a large part of the problem is that they are talking about at least four dimensions and sometimes more. Which opens up a tremendous can of worms. I suspect that all of these ideas are only partial truths. After all, we are finite beings trying to understand the infinite.

  11. Tao in the human world

In this time and place, I too, find it hard to believe. Still. his pipe is was much better than ours
  12. Tao in the human world

Einstein in his Theory of Relativity posits that all time has happened at the same time. That the past, present and future already is. Hmmmmm! It is all a mystery to me.
  13. kundalini crisis, maybe

    Relax
  14. Dao is infinite, but the life is short

Layers of labels. Sheaths of beliefs.
  15. Just wondering is anyone trying to interpret esoteric practices with science? Vinnie, In the early 1960's Bong Han Kim discovered a biological system that lined up exactly with the meridians and acupuncture points of the human body. Shortly afterwards Kim and much of his published research disappeared Prior to that, his research indicated, this system had tremendous energy carrying capacities, far beyond any other of the human circulatory systems. The next 50 years saw an active suppression of this research. But, the Bonghan system is now being resurrected as the "Primo Vascular System" by some pretty big names in biology, chemistry and cancer research. It seems that this new research is corroborating much of Bong Han Kim's earlier research. It may well be that much of our energy work is being sustained by our "intent" in the Bonghan system.
  16. Hi moment, I am a nobody when I think of myself as an apple tree. - LimA My apple tree is more than a nobody.
  17. Probably yes; and as my own lawyer - I will prosecute/defend myself. Everything will be so dualistically complete that I will enter The Void effortlessly within short and exist peacefully thereafter as a nobody. Yes/no? Maybe. Limahong, Hello, always a pleasure! What is your IDEA of A nobody? :^ )
  18. Taoism and Hedonism

Balance in the course of our progression. Balance as an ongoing process. Without those occasional joyful excesses, what would be the point of living? What would there be to balance? Everything has its' time. Can we slow down aging by being vital? On those days when there are too many choices is when we should empty ourselves. Then the subtleties become more apparent. As we become more with the Tao do we become more intuitive and less self-judgmental? Does this help us relax more? Does becoming more relaxed bring us closer to Tao? At that point does asking what is right or wrong become too slow to actively participate at that level?
  19. The Importance of Working on Weaknesses

Is learning in the context of our aging and its' revealing of weaknesses the true fountain of youth?
  20. Diversity in The Great Divide

As Taoists all things are relative to our immediate surroundings, space/time and us. What is the value of our opinions? How much do those opinions prevent us from properly reacting to the moment?
