Thanks Zhongyongdaoist. I did not realize my post was only for members. I don't know how to make it "public". I see that compilation as a "public service" ( seva work). Btw, do you mind if I copy your advice there? Meow. p.s. Ed, don't freak out:) Whatever you feel is a "normal" thing ( assuming you do practice). I wish I could tell you it is "easy", but the deeper you dig, the more "sh&t" you get out. But there is no way other than up:P Keep it up.

Energy stuck in the head, insanity, anger, going nuts
qicat replied to grabmywrist4's topic in General Discussion
Can you please provide more "technical details" on shadow work part? I am compiling a self-help guide and I would like to include anecdotic evidence that it is actually working. I have read some books on "Shadow work", but too much scholar stuff vs actually step 1 do this feel this step 2 etc... Thank you. -
Kitty is looking for some scientific explanation of a linkage between doing qigongs and having strange dreams the following night. The OP is specifically interested when some random "people of the past" show up and some weird show is going on. Any thoughts or experiences? 1. What exactly is being triggered? 2. Why those "streams of consciousness" are interacting. 3. Is there any applied wisdom to this dimension? Meow...

you are lucky try jumping of the buildings in those states... It makes you REALLY believe that you are sleeping even if everything is "very real". My reasoning is simple: heck, if I am sleeping and controlling my dream, then I can jump of the building and nothing will happen. And if I am not sleeping and at the rooftop in "real life", well, perhaps that's the "end of the road". Happily for me so far it had been dreams... I wonder where Matrix movie got their ideas... Is it like a common test or something?

Technical Reference for white beings (Buddhism)
qicat replied to MooNiNite's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Here are some suggestions: The image is Indian. The five people are http://www.amtb.cn/e-bud/buddhalife.html So perhaps it is showing his teachings to those five who rejected and left ( thus the bowl?) . -

Can you reference where Thangka is from? Age, location perhaps? He is wearing all red ( vajrasattva is red top/blue pants), and his halo is gold(?) color? If you link Buddha family, then you can perhaps dig out something on iconography ( i.e. your white people reference). Also, he is not sitting on a lotus and there is no animal mounting ( tiger), but there is an elephants and horses. Is it Burmese origins? Perhaps it is not thangka, but marble in in some temple? None of the beings on the thankga have gender. But I assume two blue ones are dakinis? If one is holding the bowl, the second one should hold either sword or book/scroll? ( i.e. knowledge?) -

On this note, does anybody know the energy hook-up of the mudra he is doing on the picture? I.e. something more than "it will calm your mind" or "this is what Buddha taught first time he was teaching"... I cannot find any serious references to that mudra, although I admit google search on the topic is rather shallow with pinterest junk. (http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/dharmachakra-mudra) -

qicat replied to grabmywrist4's topic in General Discussion
Well, it depends... Just got off the phone with my Sifu. Topic kind of relates to the subject ( i.e. energy work without blowing out your mind). I still gotta do qigongs/neigongs and feel pain and etc./etc. as it is expected and normal. Thus I was asking if topic starter under any guidance. I.e. perhaps in their system they "cook" in a pressure cooker until it blows and technically the goal is achieved... but if no teacher from the good system, then yes, STOP asap. -

http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/43771-observations-on-qi-deviations/ you mention you meditate, but you say nothing about your asana/qigong practice first. You mention Guru, so it means you have Indian tradition where they "ship energy up". Daoists look at that a little bit differently. I know Jeff can help you, so take on his offer. If you read my thread and anything "rings the bell" feel free to reach out. I can refer you to some people who might help you as well. Meow.... p.s. Drink MINT tea. It cools the energy and should help. p.p.s I second on physicians eval. I did the same thing. I doubt they will find anything though... -

Can someone interpret a wacky dream that I had? And maybe give info on healing (or soul defense?).

Deltrus: It's been almost a month, how are you doing? -
I dunno dude... I am just going with my personal practitioner experiences... I totally understand it might manifest completely different to you. I.e. we won't be able to understand each other's explanations. About the topic: good and evil. Here is a koan: I was laid off from my work, so my company could "save" my 6 figures salary. It is GOOD for them. It is EVIL for me. It is the same action... So... the perspective on who is judging "good and evil" matters... Otherwise, it's just an energy/action/feeling/insert your own manifestation of a "pre-emotional-charge" state....

CT, r u commenting to me or other person? I am slowly doing my Ngondro, I just happened to be at the transmission, but not at full teachings Tulku was giving. I am not stupid enough to start loading self with that kind of energy. I assume my research on Qi Deviations would support it. So, appreciate the concern if it was directed at me .

When you came to cross-roads in your life, what did you do?
qicat posted a topic in General Discussion
All of us at some point or another hit cross-roads in life where small time frame defines our next destiny. I am at such place and have been thinking about next steps and nothing shows up so far. I am wondering how do other people solve such puzzles? I.e. move or stay in certain location, get or not get that job, do or not do something, study or not study, etc... I know the teaching point of "following your heart", but my heart so far is screaming about what IT DOES NOT WANT to do, but not about what IT WANTS to do". How did you do it in your own life? Meow...- 26 replies

Idiot question: How to learn "WISDOM"? What does it look like? How do you know you have one?Or not? What is WISDOM in different traditions? What are texts on WISDOM in different traditions? What does WISDOM look like? Why is it important? Meow...

Btw, I was at the full dzogchen empowerment the other day. The lineage transmits ALL teachings of Buddha. I cannot explain in human words what it feels like energetically, but "Buddha" is a living energy being outside of this ( all 6) realms. It just not "from here". I think from "modern 21st century quantum physics perspective" Tulku "hooks" up to the energy and everybody else who is in his "mandala" at the moment is in "that" energy and "knowledge" gets transmitted. Note, they spent about an hour "cleaning" temple before the transmission. They literally asked everybody to leave. I was walking circles around the temple and I can tell you that the "cleaning of entities and kleshas" they did was amazing ( as what I was perceiving energetically from outside) . I was wondering why did they need to "clean" the temple as it supposed to be already "pure", but it is "pure" for the humans' world, the Tulku was cleaning up "all worlds" and opening portals for the energy to come in. The more I know, the less I know...plus an understanding that I have zero clue of how world really works. I know some people shush at me for saying that "religion is something you need to look at", but the more and more I dig into it from energy perspective, the more and more I wonder what and why the things are the way they are. I mean, if you read Buddha's teachings, this is a very high level sophisticated system about "everything". How do "uneducated jungle people" without internet and iPhones and google could possibly come up with it?... anyways, stopping my ramblings now...

Do you have more reference on this? Who said it and when/where? About the "ocean" in LDT? I always thought it was kidneys in pre-natal "ocean" state. Thank you.

I've been looking at the land and tiny houses lately. My research had not inspired me for a tiny house living. I think cabin is more practical. Most of the issues seem to come with water/sewage dealings. I have found lots on solar generators/panels for reasonable prices, so this part is covered. However, water availability ( wells/public works/etc) and septic/sewage ( local permits and regulations), seems to the be main issue. I spoke with the realtor and he told me I am better off to buy an old house with land as it has utilities and put whatever I want on the property vs getting piece of wilderness and putting tiny house there. Anybody here lives in a tiny house? Where do you keep all your books?:P:P

When you came to cross-roads in your life, what did you do?
qicat replied to qicat's topic in General Discussion
Little update on the topic: 1. Does not seem to be any progress. Still on the cross-roads. 2. Sifu told me to go find "Divine" ( i.e. God) and Lama told me to go find "Wisdom". Seems I will be living on cross-roads forever with these impossible tasks...- 26 replies

What are some books to read that give a well-rounded summary of Hinduism?

Gita? -
totally hear you brother, also, adding mudras to the mix +1s the intensity. I back up form that stuff and focus on something rather simpler for few days. It amazes me how delicate the body energy is and how easily you can "unbalance" it with "less than perfect posture" in qigong.

found it here (http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/20041-taoist-meditations) We are going through this right now. Sifu makes us do it wrong way ( hurts, ouch, and then the proper way to feel the difference. Did not make it to the neck part though, still stuck on #5:) That's like 6 pages discussion in the book:P ). Do you have somebody else to watch you stand? Or can you make a video of yourself? I.e. we sometimes have no idea how BAD we are actually standing... Also, you did not have recent neck injuries? All esoteric energy stuff is good, but checking basic physical stuff is a number 1 rule:P ( if you did have some injury, this might help: http://www.naturallakeland.com/product/neck-shoulder-acute-capsules-100-count/) , but check with your doctor of course.

Q1: is it a tension pain or nerve pain ( i.e. are you hitting any acupuncture points possible blockages?) Q2: are you including and visualization with it? If yes, do you have pain when you DON'T do visual stuff? Q3: Where exactly is pain? I.e. left, right, center, everywhere?
