This original type of awareness, in Gebser's phenomenological unfolding of conscious structures, corresponds with the San Bushmen or perhaps even something more primordial -- The Ever-Present Origin, the name of his book. Which I'm going to read! I haven't read the book, but I think Ebert is good with Gebser and then there's William Irvin Thompson who's a kind of Platonic yogi but with McLuhan undertones and then there's Wilber who's not very good at all.

Here are some podcasts by the McLuhan scholar -- Bob Dobbs. http://www.fivebodied.com/archives/audio/phatic_communion/16_Cash_Flow/ The second one goes over the ideas of Freud, Jung, Maslow, Foucault, Bateson and McLuhan.

Here's a "snippet" from the page (44) https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=m6kYAAAAYAAJ&q=ever-present+origin+"we+have+found+only+two"&dq=ever-present+origin+"we+have+found+only+two"&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwitrcvFqIDXAhUDmrQKHcNMCh8Q6AEIFDAA he goes on to say - Two especially revealing words in Chuang-tzu's statement deserve particular attention. It is significant that one of the greatest sages of China does not demean early men with the words "primitive men" (as would a contemporary European, caught up in scientific hubris), but rather calls them "true men," which the commentator designates as the "holy men of calling." We emphasize this wording since the archaic structure in our sense is by no means "primitive." Anyone who regards contemporary "primitives" as representatives of this structure denies the essential basis of his own humanity. The contemporary "primitives" no longer live in the archaic, but in a more or less deficient magic structure. Their predominantly magic attunement has become to a great extent devitalized, and their magic comportment becomes deficient the moment they come into contact with Europeans. The structures of consciousness are Archaic, Magical, Mythical, Mental, and Integral respectively. Obviously I haven't read the book so I'm not sure how he frames his thinking and I'm most interested in the original inception -- Archaic. I like that video I posted in the first post too! I'll have to see what he says as I read the book, generally I'm a really slow reader. McLuhan used to read only the odd numbered pages. I tend to just open a page and read a paragraph then find something which leads me all over the internet. Such is the way of books in our post-literate society, then when you re-read what you first read the ideas have transformed into something new!

But are you a real man? Most men in today's world are actually "secret" homosexuals walking around inside their mobilised closets. I put "secret" is quotes because real men are not fooled by such performances.

The "watching media" are stand-ins for spiritual wisdom -- the android meme -- or the globe theatre whose population are previous media forms -- oral, literacy, analogue media, electronic, digital etc. https://theandroidmeme.blogspot.co.uk/2010/12/bob-dobbs-anamorphic-fractal.html Media are both formal cause and hidden archetypal grounds which then open up metaphysical horizons to capture people's souls. Left-brain thinking is phonetic literacy as holographic virtual image. So there are two holographic universes at play at the same time. The original holographic universe which qigong masters talk about and the technologically conceived matrix which pretty much everyone else's thinking is circumscribed by. Okay. I'm not really awake at the moment and probably no one is interested in the above. I'm going to meditate for a bit then go to the supermarket and then come back and copy out something from Ever-Present Origin because I realised the quote drew posted by Chuang-tzu is the same quote Gebser is using and Gebser appears to be saying that that is what is essential for humans rather than thinking we're progressing towards a more sophisticated type of spiritual awareness.

Wow those videos are better than I remembered. Faustian/Western culture is our culture coming out of the Middle Ages with the Gothic cathedrals and infinite space etc.

I saw drew posted this on his blog - "The universe and I came into being together; I and everything therein are One.""If then all things are One, what room is there for speech? On the other hand, since I can say the word 'one' how can speech not exist? If it does exist, we have One and speech -- two; and two and one -- three(14) from which point onwards even the best mathematicians will fail to reach (the ultimate); how much more then should ordinary people fail?" I was reading something the other day about how dreamless sleep is prior to the idea of soul completely, but I can't remember where I was reading that. I know Ebert has something about cultural manifestations of soul, there's some good stuff in the video and some other stuff where he gets side-tracked with his own issues. But I really like how traditional mythic memory forms are simmering up into the awareness of American culture with batman and spiderman etc.

It's not a problem. I don't expect to post about these things without people getting triggered. I don't respect Judith Butler, I'm a radical feminist. Although it's not something you'll find me marching in the streets trying to promote or impose through force and violence via political or moral means, the way transsexuals go about their business.
-
When the San tribe enter 1st nature they shape-shift too in much the same way gender flux slips through the cracks of fixed categories from the perspectives of the watching media. But the San are bathed in spiritual light while we (my multi-egoic pomo personalities and you) are bathed in electronic light.

So postmodernism is a type of nondualism really. Just with a very heavy dose of madness because everyone genuinely refuses to believe it.

Yes, but electronic media mimics right-brain functions, as such they (telegraph, radio, TV, internet) create externalized right-brain type environments which we've been inhabiting for almost 200 years now. Hence the shift away from Newtonian physics and the breakdown of realist type artworks etc. Nietzsche's aphoristic type knowledge and Picasso's cubism also reflect the shift in sensory arrangements caused by the new media. Transsexual identity flux is another more comical example of the affects electronic media have on the psyche lol. The affects are total and run right across every institution in fact, but what's really funny is academia has bet the house on left-brain axiomatic principles being true. All that means is the world is drifting away from them at increasing speeds, everything is becoming weirder and weirder for all those morons because media are not created equal. There's a logic to the new media which so far has accelerated reality successively away from mechanised thinking patterns. Honestly I post in philosophy forums and all they can do is ban me even when I spell things out for them using philosophy from the Western tradition. If they actually realised the truth of reality they'd very likely go insane, not that they aren't absolutely insane already tbh.

I was going to post the video on drew's blog and ask him if he's actually read Ever-Present Origin, but I can't login to gmail and I don't like posting on his blog anyway because I can't edit my posts. Maybe he'll see the video if I post his blog url! http://ecoechoinvasives.blogspot.com/

Recently during my moving yin and yang meditations I kept thinking my hands were touching my body so I kept opening my eyes to check, but my hands were no where near my body. Anyway, it got to the point where sparks were coming out my fingertips and taking hold of places on my body so it felt like clothing threads were caught in my fingernails and pulling between those two material points of contact as my hands moved. Also very strong magnetic fields were seemingly emanating from my forearms so that I could feel them brushing my body as I moved my arms and my hands very tangibly moved through the fields during the exercise, also my palms were generating a lot of heat too. So now when I do moving yin and yang the hand going upward is pushing warm energy up the central channel and actually the hand going downward takes magnetic energy coming out the top of the head and pulls it downward like a veil and I can feel my downward hand as it moves all the way to the bottom of the circuit -- from above my head! The other day I was coming back from the countryside where I'd spent a month in meditation and I stopped at my friend's house, whose leg I healed, on the way home and there was a guy there with schizophrenia. Anyway I was trying to tell him about wim hof breathing and only trying to say "take 30 deep breaths and hold on the last exhale" to help him with his condition. But he wouldn't let me finish the sentence. What is funny is I have tried to tell a few people about wim hof breathing and always I'm not allowed to finish the sentence. Anyway, after the guy had left I had a flash of images all of a sudden which almost made me say out aloud "I've been somewhere else all this time" but at that moment I wasn't really sure what it meant. Anyway, later on I was able to unpack the information and remember some of the images. What I remembered is being with the schizophrenic guy and healing him in another place, like a room on a spaceship or something like that. Now I don't think I healed the guy, but perhaps I did, I really don't know either which way! But what I think those images were about was me getting a glimpse of the holographic nature of the universe which drew talks about. Anyway, since I've been back in London and amongst other people everything is going to shit. People are leaving unwelcome impressions on me, my diet is not so good and even today I was thinking about porn. But it got even worse after that, I am posting back in this shithole of a forum. What is even funnier is I have been suspended from the forum because I was trying to help Hancock with his meditation. But someone on the forum spotted what was happening and quickly let it be known that I am not allowed to help anyone because I don't know what I'm talking about and when I actually do have a real kundalini experience the energy I'll feel will be on a level I've never known before. Actually I have the 7th charka open HAHAHA when I mediate now it feels like my head is shaped like a cone which extends many feet above my head and ultimately I'm waaayyy beyond a kundalini awakening lol. That problem of clueless people leading the blind is something I tried to address in my "problem with the admins thread." Anyway, good luck with whatever it is you guys get up to in your practices because I think you'll really need it lol. I'm going to go and try and get back on track. My internet isn't working right now so hopefully that will be helpful! Also, drew said I'm on the path toward becoming a qigong master. Although that was while I was still in the countryside and everything was looking a little more rosy!

LOL I'm just tweaking Starjumper's nose!

What you're saying presupposes a priori a materialist ontology as the underlying substrate for reality. Something for which, epochally, is contingent and more importantly particular to contemporary metaphysics -- what we term in philosophy as "nihilism" -- but academic philosophers, in their myopic wisdom fog, label physicalist supervenience. https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/physicalism/

The tensing of the muscles realises stored energy, so I don't think he's converting jing into chi when he's doing that. And you can tell his body appears to be totally open with the energy flowing without much resistance at all. Chang is similar in that regard with his shocking the guy using his hand. When the body is open like that, with energy flowing freely, then qi has shen energy flowing too. That's what I think right now anyway. If someone comes up with a better explanation I'll change my mind. But right now I think what I'm saying is correct!

I threw the "bad" energy on the ground and I'm in England.

Nothing wrong with her leg after I healed it. However, It was swollen, very painful and purple and red. So I pulled out the bad energy and the leg changed colour in an instant, then projected qi into her leg and we saw the swelling come down and the leg return to normal colour while all the pain left her body and she became very relaxed and happy!

Ethically I get a fairly strong impression that it's wrong to talk openly about these things. However, it's quite a major interest for me and I do like to help out where I can too. But, I think probably I will tone it down from here on in and concentrate more on learning and progressing without much, or any, fan-fair and see where that takes me!

Whenever I'm with people I always ask if they have any chronic pain/illness/disease they'd like help with or if they'd like to experience spiritual energy and the answer is always a resounding no. No one is interested and in fact everyone becomes quite irritated by my earnest efforts to help as best I can. The only person who smiles deeply and really appreciates what I'm trying to communicate is my friend whose leg I healed. I will show people videos and explain spiritual energy is essential for human life etc. But no one cares and I think its a little odd everyone is so quick to reject these things in real world situations. I was even saying tonight that on the internet there's not really any way to prove these things, but in "real life" people can actually experience what I'm talking about. When I said you can hold my hand and I'll move a bit a energy into your arms all that happened is they started singing I want to hold your hand by the Beatles. I battled for about 20 minutes with a guy who literally talked over everything I was saying. I Even got that youtube video playing on a friends phone and tried to get people to watch it for 3 or 4 seconds each and asked if anyone would like to try it out. But no one is interested.

I think the energy transmission could have had a higher content of shen, so that's why the guy didn't feel it as it travelled down from the top of his head and also why he wasn't shocked (electrically) as he was told to take a deep breath. That's admittedly conjecture based mostly from my own experiences, which lack a good deal of theoretical knowledge and face-to-face experience with a real qigong master. I've never really felt anyone's energy other than my own. I can feel people's energy if I put my hand near their bodies etc. But I've never met a real energy master irl!
