So what's the deal with the Icy temperature accompanying demonic manifestation?

How on earth do you keep a meditative and connected state 24x7?

"Straight away, remove yourself from the field of spiritual progression , stay away from contemplation and skillful discourse, do not do research or meditate on the divinities, and stop concentrating and reciting textbooks! Tell me, what is the absolute nature of reality which allows no room for doubt? Listen carefully! Stop holding on to this or that, inhabit your true absolute nature, and peacefully enjoy the essence of what it is to be alive!" - Abhinavagupta Basically, no need to try, you're already living. What's the difference between sitting in meditation and doing anything else? -
vortex, If you read the Bible closely, you can see that...accusing, condemning, entrapping, punishing, opposing, testing, prosecuting, bringing destruction through following the letter of the law rather than the spirit against others, etc...are all the role of the character, Satan. Religions and people that do those things aren't actually following the teachings in the Bible.

The acupoint KID3 (taixi) takes care of pretty much any kidney problem. Balances yin and yang of not only kidneys but also some of the other organ systems, tonifies the kidney, clears and activates the entire kidney meridian, etc. I don't know why it isn't emphasized more. (it's also the yuan source point, so you can use it in diagnosis...if there is problems in the area of the acupoint, you can be assured to use that point for treatment of that organ. I've personally noticed on myself that when the kidney yin is lowered, the left inside ankle will get problems) (here's an interesting experience I had...I lived near one of the Great Lakes, and decided to practice on the beach at night. I noticed that my left inner ankle became extremely sore from it. Later on, I read my teacher instructing not to practice next to large bodies of water because it will take your kidney qi.)

On the same note, for men not being able to embrace their masculine side (or even being ashamed of it, due to feminazi programming).

I'm sure that some scientist somewhere has found a way to take the fullest advantage of aerobic respiration in the electron transport chain (where you get 30 or more ATP/energy molecules, carbon dioxide, and water...from one glucose molecule).

Bad memory is definitely not a good thing. But "bad" or "good"...no use in worrying about it. What matters is - can we fix it? TCM might say it's due to weakened kidneys with imbalanced yin and yang. Or it might say some other things...best to consult with an acupuncturist about the memory issues. They will take your pulse and discover what might be causing it for you. In modern Western thought, it's probably due to the "if you don't use it, you lose it" phenomenon. So people memorize different things and recall them, as practice. Or they do things like Sudoku or crossword puzzles. Actively rebuilding the pathways in the brain. Studies are sometimes done on monks of various sects...something to keep in mind (haha) is that they'll memorize verses of their sacred texts as a spiritual practice. Ayurveda has herbs and foods which are "medhya" (strengthening the three powers of the mind, dhi (learning), dritii (retention), and smriti (recall)). Lifting weights is something I think might help, since it's scientifically proven to increase the density of bones and muscles. Here's a quote from the linked page:

Somewhat good. I heard once that for each (regular looking) person in the world, at the same time there are approximately 6 other people which look almost exactly like them. So if you add in all people from the past who could have been photographed, the odds greatly improve. Plus, we don't know if this guy actually looked "just like" Jay Z. It's one photograph. I can look vastly different depending on the angle, lighting, photo quality, etc. We would need to see multiple photos of this guy, to determine whether he actually does look "just like" Jay Z. In this one photo, he does, but in real life that may not have been the case.

Ha, wow they do look so similar! I usually look at the ears to differentiate people (like the Nicholas Cage version of this), but it's actually somewhat hard to tell in this case. If he took an immortality serum way back in the daze, all you have to do is look at younger pictures of Jay Z to disprove that idea... So the real Jay Z actually grew up like a normal human being in the modern world. Here's a musical interlude... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zcvjxng6C4 Is it possible for an immortality serum to exist? Yes. Is it possible for rap artists to time travel, or for one's doppelganger to time travel? Maybe. Is it possible that this guy was related to Jay Z, or an unrelated look-a-like? Yes.

Didn't realize this book existed until tonight...seems pretty cool. edit: actually, after practicing this I got some pretty bad results! It seems like it can be very unbalancing to open acupoints with the mind or yi. It will seem like something is happening, but it's powerful in a negative sense. People who like this book might suggest that it's an advanced method and needs to be done after having done other preliminary work, or that you need to pick the correct points...well I did that. So I'm of the conclusion that the method itself is not a good one for anyone to use. I read the Ling Shu recently, which states that sick qi will descend deep into the channels, instead of leaving the body, if the acupoints aren't stimulated properly. You can also drain yuan qi by stimulating the points for too long, after the point when the qi arrives. In addition, some qigong masters have also stated that using the mind to open the points drains yuan qi directly. Just bad all around.

Those are common experiences. Seeing the meridians and qi, as well as sick areas, of someone else's body is something else entirely. -

As a complimentary thing to what others are saying, you could detox the liver with herbs. Holding on to the middle finger is another way of detoxing the liver channels, in jin shin jyutsu.

Different paradigm (Ayurveda instead of TCM), but I recently got this book. It's excellent and clear...not discouraging at all to learn. I think it's possible to learn without a personal teacher, and it's encouraged to practice on yourself in addition to other people. There's quite a bit of what seems like rare information in here. (one thing that's different is how the author switches the wood and earth element positions on the pulse, from the TCM way...it's based on his personal observation and might confuse some people if they aren't reading closely). Same author has a textbook which contains more methods of diagnosis, such as tongue and face...I don't know if the pulse information is as complete as the other book. Using multiple methods of diagnosis is great, because then you can double check your pulse findings and be really sure about how to move forward. Tongue diagnosis is even easier. I'm also extremely interested in this Ayurvedic pulse DVD, but it's costly.

How to lower body temperature with meditation?
Aetherous replied to KenBrace's topic in General Discussion
Look into pitta dosha diet. In addition, have fats like ghee so that your nerves can handle the energy instead of getting fried. Celibacy also helps...otherwise it's like "driving your car" when low on "oil" when you practice. Bury yourself in dirt, or just lay on the grass in the shade for an hour...earthing. Drink more pure cool water. Having white tea or certain types of herbal teas (like peppermint) might be good...hot water will benefit your spleen (which regulates temperature when healthy) and cause you to sweat which is releasing heat. Temporary effect of drinking hot water is heating, long term effect is cooling. Take a lukewarm (skin temperature) bath...water is a great conductor of infrared energy, so your heat will leave you...yet it's still warm enough to keep the skin's pores and channels open. Don't stay in til it's cold...then the pores close and inner heat is retained.- 36 replies
