It doesn't only come down to that. And it could still be argued (pointlessly) by the flat earthers, that the observer is just hallucinating and isn't perceiving the earth from space at all. Some people will believe what they want, regardless of evidence. Here you go, at 1:40: That must have been rendered by the experts at the special effects division of NASA. In reality, the earth's horizon inverts into a donut when you go upside down at that altitude.
-
No, only that at high enough speeds and with enough disparity between bright and dark areas being recorded on a poor quality camcorder, the image will skew. What is your counter-argument? That if you look at the earth from high enough, while standing on your head, that the horizon will actually appear to invert? Is that logical?
-
Yes, it will.
-
That's just due to the quality of the camcorder.

So a great wind and tongues of flame ... this is the Holy Spirit ... surely. What seems to be an important part of that verse is how they started speaking fluently in languages they hadn't previously studied...

The space flight videos are not the only example I gave. I absolutely trust their proof. It is true that they could all be faked...incredibly unlikely, but true. You can get similar evidence from sending your own camcorder into space on a weather balloon or a rocket...attach a gps tracking device, and go find it later, or have it live stream to you. This guy did it: Or you can even see similar evidence of a spherical earth while traveling on an airplane and looking out the window. It's not a trust issue, or else being an astronaut yourself and seeing it with your own eyes. The evidence of a spherical earth is literally all around us.
-
There are videos clearly showing the earth being spherical from space. Are there videos clearly showing the earth being flat from a similar outside perspective?
-
You don't have to be an astronaut to truly know that the earth is spherical. You can simply look up videos of the earth from space on youtube, or fly in a plane, or travel to different longitudes and latitudes and notice the changes, or observe the night's sky as well as the sun, or fly around the world and realize you'll end up in the same spot because you traveled in a circle, or send up camcorders on balloons from different locations...or any countless number of ways to observe the real (spherical) world in a somewhat scientific way. I mean just go up on a mountain, and look to the horizon. You won't see a mountain that's in another state. Then go to their mountain. You won't see the first mountain. That is seeing with your own eyes that the earth is not flat. No spaceship necessary.

European and Asian languages have one mother tongue

I don't disagree; I was just interested in more information. I've only been exposed to this stuff very briefly in a Viking Mythology course in college -

Do you have any credentials or background in this? What's this opinion based on? -
I'm watching the Warrior Islands of Blood video...sweet!

Thanks for the recipe! I heart mango lassi, and will definitely be making it.

I can highly recommend this recipe for those baking a sandwich bread with 100% whole wheat. This is normally a challenge because it will come out dense due to the weight of the grain. With this recipe, it actually rose with nice air pockets, and came out fluffy and sweet...just perfectly done! Spread some organic valley pasture butter on top...yes yes ya'll and we don't stop. edit: also this professional baker's reference seems very scientific, which is awesome.

I opened this thread and the friendly household ghost made itself known. Never thought about leaving food offerings before...mostly because I'm not aware enough of them to know if what I'm doing is correct or what not.

I finally got around to making my own yogurt today. It's pretty easy to follow these directions, and it turned out perfect. I will sweeten the first half of it with raw honey...and possibly for the other half I will experiment with adding masala chai spices (ginger, cinnamon, clove, green cardamom, peppercorn) in addition to the honey.

Drink recipe...nicknamed "The Tear Drinker" Recently I decided to combine my two favorite mixed drinks into one...a gin and tonic, and a mojito. I like this because it has multiple flavors at once (sour from lime, bitter from gin, sweet from brown sugar, some saltiness from...salt). There is also the aroma from mint. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, sea salt, juice of half a lime, and a few mint leaves...crush the leaves and mix together completely. Pour and strain this juice mixture into a glass filled with ice. Pour an equal amount of gin. Fill the rest of the glass with tonic water. There ya go. edit: Hey there, rainbowvein. Nope, just synchronicity I guess!

Hey friends, I've returned to the forums thanks to the mod team. Just ordered this Victorio Mill to grind fresh flour, for baking whole grain bread. I also plan on making paneer, an Indian cheese. edit: Aaaand I'm going to try making this Finnish barley bread, since it looks so easy, and according to Ayurveda barley is my grain of choice.

Feel free to suspend me, I know that I have insulted at least 2 people now and am unwilling to retract my statements about them.

If it's taking that much effort to remain on speaking terms, and yet we haven't actually spoken more than a few words here and there since then...and now you post a response out of the blue like what you did tonight, completely ignoring any reasoning in my posts and only focusing on the negative, adding another opinion against me...you might as well just stop trying. It clearly hasn't worked. Plus, I'd rather not be on speaking terms with someone that I can't relate to at all, who chooses to hold a grudge against me and call it friendship. Feel free to hate me, if you so choose. You and viator seem very similar to me in how you behave when in this moderator position. I was going to say it flat out, that viator is the new Mal, but didn't want to bring you into this and offend you...until you felt the need to "help".
-
Thanks Mal, that means a lot?
-
...you're right...
-
Thanks for your assistance.

So how do we fix this problem? Tell people they're butthurt and that they're making a big deal out of nothing? How about you fuck off instead, and let people discuss what they want to discuss!
-
Yeah, fuck no. ... This comment was highly offensive to me, and in my opinion it's the thinking of someone who isn't fit for a position of moderation. This is a convenient way of justifying making poor decisions...and it's also untrue. Only a Sith deals in absolutes. This was just writing off my point of view completely...also ignoring the fact that others besides myself have been complaining for the past couple of weeks at least. Totally inconsiderate point of view...someone who should not be moderating anyone else but themselves. This is a dumbass argument. Suspensions are annoying, especially when done without reason or any notification. Making it seem like I'm making a big deal out of nothing...well, it actually is something. Basically, I see no reason to detract my comment to viator.
