  1. World Peace is near (St. Malachi Prophecy)

Interesting about the "prophecy". Something to keep in mind about prophecies, is that after they are made, certain people will attempt to make it happen and bring fulfillment to the prophecy. After that happens, can anyone tell whether the entire thing was a staged story, or fate, or a mix of both? Well...at least the world won't end this time.

Is it possible for it to not happen at all?
  3. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

Seth, I agree with you. But who is doing that here, and how? I know you already named some names...but I don't think they have crossed the line into Westborough territory. Well, no one has come onto this forum calling people "faggots" (sorry) or anything. No one has posted info from websites of people who have historically been murderers of gay people. I really don't think a rule has been broken here. Conservativism has no absolutely comparison to the KKK, unless a Conservative would somehow be in the KKK. I say that as an Independent and someone who is generally anti-Conservative. But if a website with information is questionable, then it can simply be pointed out. It's not against the rules to post from websites that have a bias, is it? Unless the poster knew they were spreading false information. In this case, I think they believe the information is completely true... (Maybe there needs to be a Taobums court of law....?) No one here is saying they should be publicly stoned. And at least personally, I wasn't using "Christian science" to share the idea that homosexual men tend to be STD-ridden. I used my experience in a health care setting, as well as the CDC website. And to be clear...being gay doesn't mean you are STD-ridden. A person can probably lead a safe lifestyle while being gay, if they're smart. But if those little links show actual facts (statistics for instance) regarding the point they're making, then it's also fine, because it's truth. Coincidentally, my elementary school had that policy. One day suddenly the principal walked up to me after recess and grabbed my arm forcibly. Apparently someone said that I had pushed a girl from behind. I didn't recall doing it, and neither did the girl, who was my friend. The punishment was rather severe for a little kid who likely didn't actually do it... If there is actual hate speech, rather than just slightly biased sources of information, then moderation should definitely happen. The issues are really important.

Moderators, Could you not disappear threads at all, please?
  5. Gun violence and apple pie

I think you're completely misinterpreting the common person's point of view here. No one actually wants that to happen. They want peace. Govt maintains American and human rights = all's good. Really.
  6. LAPD wth?

Pure stupidity, insanity, and hypocrisy are hard on the rational mind. (referring to the ideas as a whole in his manifesto)
  7. LAPD wth?

So...did he already kill innocent people? Or were they all directly connected to the corruption? edit: Never mind...indirectly connected. Unfortunate.
  8. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

True. Maybe in a new thread, then. I am interested to learn more about your point of view.
  9. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

Can you share an example of how you are not leftist?
  10. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

It's not a rule that you must substantiate all claims you make on an internet forum. That'd be nice at times...but I was just sharing my very clear experience. Take it for what it's worth...just casual discussion. I guess we could pull out the statistics from an unbiased source, if anyone is willing to do a bit of research... http://www.cdc.gov/std/stats11/trends-2011.pdf There is some. In some cases, this is true. I don't think that's happening on this forum.
  11. Trolling and Off-topic disruptions

I agree that injustice is going unchecked here (when something is reported, there should be a moderator response)...but has anyone actually broken a rule in regard to the gay discussion? You can't moderate someone for being homophobic or having certain offensive opinions...just like you can't moderate someone for being gay. Who you are isn't exactly a choice. Is anyone's feelings hurt by something that was said? How could we change our behavior to make them feel better, while still discussing things?
  12. the FASTEST way to ground ?

Someone who knows what they're talking about!
  13. Americans bringing everybody down

If you don't care about everything that's happening in the world, why are you caring so much about everything that's happening in the world?
  14. Right Wing War Against LGBT's

Of course not. But it will make any sensible person think twice about marriage, and at least be very cautious...then after a while, we could see married people not having those symptoms, due to their caution. Not saying anything about gay marriage. I think they should be "allowed" to, no question. I think it's wrong that there are people who are not "allowing" very simple and harmless things, which really affect no one else. If you were addressing me in any way, I don't know where you're getting your information from. I'm not against gay marriage or civil partnerships at all. And saying that gay people tend to have higher levels of STDs is not condemning them. It's similar to constructive criticism.
  15. Right Wing War Against LGBT's

Not sure what you mean, Aaron. How am I disrespectful to anyone? Please answer. I don't take away anyone's human rights...I fight for them in whatever way I can, regardless of who they are. I attempt to make people feel welcome in this world. I'm not "against" gay marriage at all.
  16. Right Wing War Against LGBT's

There is definitely something to the idea that gay (men, at least) tend to be STD-ridden. I saw this for myself while working in a certain health care setting. That being said...I think there should be equal human rights for all people, and that everyone should be accepted and forgiven no matter what. There is no need to make people feel like garbage, and like they aren't welcome in the world. Lets get on with life.
  17. the FASTEST way to ground ?

    Lift weights.
  18. Q's...ONLY Teachers may Answer.

I am not one of those teachers that charge for learning things, but I do teach in some ways, so I'll share my three ideas (which may have come from other teachers)... 1) Use only what helps you and drop what isn't working, if only at least temporarily. Just because something is said to be 'the best practice since sliced bread' doesn't mean it's necessary, or even worth doing. You don't use a shovel to clean your kitchen counter...know the right tool for what you need individually in the current moment. Know what you want from your practice, and ask yourself if what you're doing is actually working. 2) "Cultivation" means that you are focusing on certain things purposefully, which has the effect of increasing those things in your life...for spirituality, it's in regards to all great qualities of character. Virtue. Decide who you want to become and focus on those things. Notice the way you already are, some of the ways which you would rather change, and stop cultivating those things in your life, or channel it in another direction. "Do for others what you want them to do for you." 3) Consider teachers as your advisers, rather than your masters...and at the same time, you must be humble - be master of no one else but yourself. If you can even manage that.
  19. Ancient Egyptian symbols

I'm always asking why about Egypt. But awesome stuff so far!
  20. Kab TV..

Anyone doing this? Have they gotten to the point yet? I've missed the past 6 or so lessons.
  21. Nope. Unless he decides to stick around or not change the situation.
  22. It's a good thing to let go of grudges, and to wish everyone well, regardless of whether they deserve it or not. Anyway, don't mean to try to convince you of something you would rather not be convinced of. I'll chut up now.
  23. Yes. For example: they're responsible for getting out of that situation, for healing themselves, for not repeating those actions to anyone else, etc...
