External + Internal Martial Arts
Aetherous replied to eye_of_the_storm's topic in General Discussion
Was trying to find a martial art thread to put this video. I suppose this one will do. This girl is quite impressive (this is external MA, and questionable whether it's really MA or just MA style moves). Don't mind the beginning, where it seems like it will just be a "watch me do the splits" video...it gets legit later on. http://thechive.com/2012/12/05/i-felt-uninspired-this-morning-and-then-i-saw-this-girl-video/ -
Nope. That would have been intelligent...haha. I only asked what it is supposed to represent, in their own words.

We should ask them! edit: I've submitted an email, and should get a response in 48 hours. Their logo:

Excellent, theurgy! edit: By the way, why is severity active, and mercy passive? Is that just the correlation between symbols...or is there a choice to go that route with severity taking precedence, or can one reverse it? In human interaction, to me, it seems like severity (and all that implies) comes easily and requires the most passivity to accomplish. Our natural mode is self defense, righteous anger, punishment of others, etc. When we feel like shit, we unload it onto someone else who we feel deserves it. On "the other hand", Mercy seems like the hardest thing, and therefore, the thing that requires the most activity on part of the person. To turn the other cheek, pray for those who do wrong, tip the scales in their favor sometimes, etc...it's like swimming upstream and completely denying your every instinct. Funny also, that the IRS is claiming basically "No mercy!" here, or with an open hand accepting mercy for themselves, while doling out severity to the people. I'm probably just misinterpreting this...

I was just playing around, friend. All bark, no bite. -
I think we're going to throw some Madonna in there and call it Madbritrihagagaitney We can. Anyone can start with a symbol and start talking. For instance, I wonder what the IRS building symbols mean exactly, from someone who might actually know. We have to admit, it's creepy looking. Why are the hands on the two pillars? Why are they making those specific gestures? Who had such bad taste in art?

It could be that 2 people who are anonymous users (who choose the option to hide their name here) were in there as well, filling it up with 5 members.

Totally right. -
LOL...speaks volumes about how these symbols are being used (but maybe the two are similarly depicted? I don't know much about Egypt). I do kind of like Rihanna, despite not being a pop music fan whatsoever. Guilty pleasure.

Note - I did start this thread with the intention (although I didn't state it specifically) that we could be able to discuss symbols seen in popular culture, associated with government buildings, etc. Their current use in all places (of the Western world primarily), their use in other contexts like spiritual schools, and the possible links in between. All is meaningful in one way or another. It's interesting to me, for instance, how much the music industry uses various symbols in their artwork (music videos, live shows, linear notes, posters and ads, etc). It's a form of expression and relating to various things (whether or not the artist actually does, for instance in the case of Jay-Z and "the Illuminati" with his hand sign). On the other hand, something the spiritual traditions have always said is that power without true wisdom (actions coming from a place of love) is harmful for all involved. Maybe these symbols that people see as powerful aren't so good, when there's no real spiritual cultivation happening in the public. Perhaps the power elicited is used to stimulate base emotions.

About magic tricks...the point of them is to leave you baffled. Just because it seems to make no possible sense, doesn't mean there is some siddhi involved...it just means the trick was good. -
Probably, if we draw a line halfway through India, we've got the separation between East and West. Apech said once, if I remember correctly, that the Egyptians possibly discovered their symbols through altered states of consciousness.

Activating Kunlun Energy Without the Posture

My opinion is irrelevant to the path you will walk. Choose one, and get as much as you can out of it. At that point, you'll be ready for a new decision. -

Check out the book, because that comes directly from the source of the school (Max). -

One breath does both ascending (inhale) and descending (exhale). Besides, it's relaxing and calms the mind, which goes well with the water path. Joeblast has been involved in Kunlun for a number of years. -
Please make another thread for Crowley discussion, or other stuff like black magick...this is supposed to be about symbolism in the West.

I vote for the Turkish guy with the unibrow. He can unite Turkey and Mongolia despite thousands of miles inbetween!
