The print version of the book is so much better to work with than the kindle version, in my opinion.

In Mo Pai, isn't it breaking the bands of the dantien, not breaking the dantien itself? -
Words to take to heart...

True. However, they should look into the actual Taoist immortal path, from multiple sources, and find out if the system they're interested in really does offer something that others cannot (...that something being immortality). I will save you the trouble...it doesn't. Having respect and motivation for your school is one thing...if you love Mo Pai for instance, that's awesome...but telling everyone here that it is the sole means to the goal of Taoist immortality is absolutely false and is very harmful. (this kind of thing is implied when you say "ready to accept the risks and believe the system offers something others cannot") This is a thread of a person in need of healing. All I'm saying is, look into multiple sources. Don't believe the hype that people spin around such methods...those people aren't even accomplished, and they try to convince others that only one school has the goods?
-
It's that's the goal, then why practice incomplete and harmful systems which don't lead to that? No one has to risk their life and well being!!! Read all of Eva Wong's translations of Taoist alchemy texts, paying close attention. So many times it says to stay away from false methods, and tells what true methods include. "Tao of Health Longevity and Immortality" is especially pertinent here. Spending hours pushing qi into your lower dantien is a false or at least incomplete method for Taoist immortality. As you can tell! Hopefuly WLP will help, and hopefully his help is helpful.

Get advice from a teacher of that specific path, if you want to risk it. You should know what your true goals are with all of this, and if it's worth risking your life and well being just for that attainment. Is it to have electric feeling qi that can zap people? IMO, not worth it! The advice that you will get here is for those who practice in more balanced ways...and very few here (if any) are qualified or have the experience to deal with something like this. To be clear, I am not one. Yigong (Eastern Internal Arts Institute's "Qigong for Self Healing" DVD) or the Kunlun method of Kunlun Nei Gung can potentially help alleviate this issue of problems from excessive lower dantien work. This is what primordial alchemist website says: Not to suggest that must be your path...just sharing info that's out there on this subject of damage from LDT practice. Taking a break (or quitting) your current mode of practice would be wise. Cultivate the inner smile...watch comedies. Laughter is said to align and balance all three dantien. Try to enjoy your life rather than spending each day thinking that your body is self destructing ...the book linked in my signature where it says "cultivating heartfulness" is super helpful IMO. Do a lot of self massage to your whole body. Some ideas.

What an interesting thing to see in someone else...

...and being opposed to an unnatural and invented separation, causes more unnatural and invented separation. I guess you've always gotta maintain balance, and that includes keeping the hatred alive in some form. If it's uncouth to hate people from another country, now you are allowed to hate people who hate people from other countries. It's just pure hypocrisy, that is typical of shallow spiritual style thinking (no offense to steve or anyone else, I don't think he is shallow, hypocritical or wrong...just sharing an alternative way of looking at this point). "There has to be no separation in my thinking!"...oh wait, just by attempting to do that you're creating separation between separating and not-separating. It would be better to attempt nothing, and just be natural like everyone else. Can we accept that the world is filled with people who identify with made up things, who derive much pleasure and meaning from doing that? Can we see that by pointing out all of the things which, theoretically, may be contrived, we are becoming even more contrived than those things?
-
...but being opposed to nationalism is just another polarizing force in the world as well. What's wrong with people celebrating their roots?

http://www.rinpoche.com/karmechagme/karmechagmeteaching.pdf Togal teachings are interesting. There is a Bon retreat about it (six lamps) this summer: https://www.ligmincha.org/news-releases/summer2012.html

For me...cultivating heartfulness, watching comedies, natural breathing, any kind of exercise, staying hydrated. This shit always changes though.

One minute, you're saying things should have purpose and meaning...and the next you're talking about how Girls Gone Wild, 80s hair metal, WWE, "Get rich or die trying", pimpin hoes, etc are all awesome and indicative of the best time period... I guess I can relate a little bit to fun things being...well...fun. But not to anything else. For instance, the movie the Wrestler is about a guy who can't help failing at life due to not being able to adapt...but in the next sentence you're talking about how other people are "losers"? And the way you said some of those things, like 50 cent's movie was "clearly the peak of the world"...it's just hilarious. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or for real. "Clearly"? I don't mean to imply that you have bad taste or something. I like some of the things you like...it's just very interesting to find people with such strong opinions that are so different from what I'm used to. Great part of having a worldwide forum like this. I just play around with the Bon version every now and then. It has a sort of calming effect, similar to most breath practices. Visualization of colors and the channels are included so there are benefits from that...benefits from having the hand mudras, in equipose in the central channel and also pressing the nose... I really want to try it when I am feeling negative to see if it actually works, but I have always ended up forgetting to.

Thanks for the info, I had no idea it was thought to work on blood cancer. I tried this brand before...thought it tasted horrible... http://www.amazon.com/Dandelion-Root-Tea-30-Bag/dp/B00020HHO0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335117076&sr=8-1 -

For clearing, you can try the safe breath purification method in these books... "Awakening the Sacred Body" by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche or "The Buddhist Path" by Khenchen Sherab "Healing with Form Energy and Light" by Tenzin Wangyal also contains it. They are slightly different but derive from the same Tibetan practice which clears the bad winds in the 3 channels, as a preparation for meditation. It is fairly balancing. There is also swara yoga...an easy method is lying on your right side, that will open the left nostril and channel within 10 minutes usually, sometimes immediately. Much better than a forceful practice. Why do you want to do anything with ida though? If you feel like it's not active as long as the right side, you can go to a doctor and get checked to see if you have a deviated nasal septum.

OK, I will very clearly state this: I DID NOT EXPERIENCE QIGONG PSYCHOSIS FROM KUNLUN. I hope you saw that this time. I was making up practices and experimenting with things from multiple traditions on myself all day and night for weeks on end. My experience had nothing to do with Kunlun, and I do not represent Kunlun. So, I hope you caught that: no one has gotten qigong psychosis from the Kunlun system. No one. Not a single person. In fact, the Kunlun system is very healing and prevents such a thing from occurring. All of the practices, including red phoenix, are completely safe and completely foundational. Just be smart and follow instructions from the certified people. You will be totally fine. Now stop slandering and posting knowingly false information here. Such actions, besides being against forum rules (which the moderators SHOULD do something about), are incredibly disrespectful to everyone involved.
