You want me to address the article point by point or something?
-
It seems like you and others read an entirely different article than I did. I thought it was almost entirely accurate, as someone who has practiced and studied yoga and tantra for over a decade! I guess everyone just interprets things differently sometimes.

I don't know about the authenticity of the other books, but Jesus seems to reference this one a lot in the NT.

That certainly blocks empathy.

People become masters because of what they learn on their path, not necessarily because of the methods they've been given. Part of this can include learning the hard way how important it is to set goals, to watch out for things in your life like finances, etc. Not having access to the methods you want is a good teaching. Not being able to help people who are in need is a similarly good teaching. Gaining access to learning something, and realizing that it wasn't necessarily what you truly wanted, is also a great way to learn things about yourself. As a teacher told me, "It's important to know what you want!" As another teacher once said, "Pay attention."

The global economy is failing, but many people have raised the extra money to learn various things. At least personally I spent over a few thousand on various teachings during my time as a college student, which is kind of remarkable, lol. You may not be able to be a seminar junkie (unfortunately), but "where there's a will there's a way"! It says a lot about someone's resonance with a teaching, if they are unwilling to try to learn it. Where's the passion? The ones with passion go out and get it, no matter what.
-
You can look at the money issue from different points of view... One is that teachers are greedy and secretive. Another is that teachers simply know what's best for the students to succeed, through experience. They don't like to waste their time on what doesn't work. Maybe if the student shows the right stuff, then the money issue won't even be applicable to that student...depending on the teacher. Obviously, accusing teachers of being greedy and secretive is not in line with receiving their teachings for free. A teacher would rather see someone who is so passionate that they 'empty their cup' and ABSORB new knowledge like the most thirsty sponge on earth. Open-minded. Ready to learn and transform by their own effort. There is something to be said about the guru-disciple relationship, even if it doesn't apply to all teachers. It's so important to have respect. Be in awe of what you don't know...not irrationally skeptical. So...try to think outside of the box of "spiritual teachers who charge money are greedy". It's only true 75% of the time.

Pretty sure not a single soul will like these, but I'm in love with this girl:

Actually, there is! Don't make stupid assumptions about me, please.

Well, I did previously with a few people. No more!

It's disappointing to see this. I disagree completely.

I used to rely upon the whole gongfu way of tea...for a couple of years I was obsessed! It's an awesome method (when you're being served) and I think it can reveal the essence of the tea more than anything. But lately I've been totally satisfied with just throwing a Twinning's tea bag into a cup of hot water. Boom, done. I've only tried their English Breakfast and Earl Grey varieties...but yeah, I recommend trying Twinnings, for when you want the essence of tea without the elaborate ceremony. http://www.twiningsusashop.com/list-all.html

Saying that Republicans are psychopaths/sociopaths, and equating them to Nazis is more than a little extreme. I'm sure it's true in a minority of cases. Goering's quote is something to always consider.

I personally view all spiritual concepts as harmful and useless. Normal people desire all sorts of things, and they lead relatively balanced and healthy lives. Spiritual people deny their natural inclinations, they might acheive some sense of transcendence at times, but they are worse off IMO. More imbalanced. They might take up supposedly healthy lifestyle choices because they notice an imbalance, and that throws them off even further since they're listening to their minds rather than their bodies. There's a deep split inside of them...whereas a normal person acts according to their nature. It's good to be wise about things...aware of what you're doing and the implications...but nothing should be considered off limits for you, as long as it agrees with your conscience. So the idea that you should not desire anything is something I disagree with, among many other things.

Using your own energy as a boost instead of "fake" energy
Aetherous replied to AЯAB's topic in General Discussion
If you train smart (do some sort of periodization to try and avoid overtraining) you can perform much better and surpass the plateaus naturally. Get a sports physiology textbook and study that beast...or google it...or find a personal trainer who knows what they're doing. Taking supplements is a bad idea...especially when it makes you stay awake that night! -
Accepted, of course...not a big deal. JUST DONT DO IT AGAIN!

Thanks, but I never said that I feel anything but great...guess now I will feel greater. Or do you mean bad feelings towards you? Cat, a little disagreement does not mean there are bad feelings between us. Unless that's what you're aiming for.
-
Hey cat, Right, and her truth is absolute bullshit. That is NOT love. I view your abhorrence of my views as equally venomous, and a lot more unconstructive than what I said (which was an attempt to help a fellow bum sever the connection and move forward). What are you attempting to do? Change me and my views? Make jacklantegi doubt whether he should be severing the cords? If you want something from me, try being more polite. I don't like people on the sidelines questioning my every move. Thanks.
-
Also, I've seen it a hundred times. You want to get in the last word, and let her know how you feel. It doesn't matter, though. That is just opening up the channel between you two more. Simply say nothing. Be polite and dismissive. Not for the purposes of some reverse psychology way of gaining her respect by being aloof...but simply because she serves no purpose for you. Move on completely. K I'll shut up now. Best of luck.

I'm surprised that anyone puts up with being treated this way by another person. I'm surprised I put up with it in the past...good thing we learn... She is dating someone else, but telling you she loves you? Why doesn't she dump his ass then? Why was there a breakup if she loves you? And you can't even call this person who "loves" you? The person who "loves you" is making you feel horrible...wasting your energy and throwing you into self-destruction? Nah, here is the truth: she doesn't love you at all. She doesn't even love herself. Please, have some self-respect...cut her out of your life completely. Don't take a single thing she says seriously. No matter what. Don't even give her the chance to say anything. Know that there are women out there who desire to treat their men well...who aren't evil self-destructive bitches. Know that you are worth so much more than being lied to and strung along, and that you're better off being single and alone than succumbing to such a destroyed little girl.

I prefer Foundation, but it seems to me like they aren't really the same thing. McKenzie is almost totally passive motions and works in a different way. Thanks for the heads up on the DVD! Both will put pressure on the lumbar/sacral area, and will eventually heal it in some way, opening up the knots at the 2nd chakra area.
-
Serene, I prefer McKenzie's book...that video is fine for showing the exercises but is misleading in what the guy is saying.
