I have no problem with you recommending full lotus in every single post to people, but I do have a problem with someone making such definitive and false statements. I haven't had nocturnal emissions for years, due to energy flow...not a posture. I can't get into full lotus, but have experienced embryonic breathing. There are many people who are exceptions to your rules...which means that they aren't rules at all! So you're cool Drew, but you can only speak for your experience...which is that full lotus works for you. You can't speak for the experience of achieving things without full lotus...so don't!

Embryonic breathing does not rely on full lotus posture. Also, full lotus is not a good idea for christoff's symptoms. Didn't your teacher recently tell you that your internal organs were all messed up due to incorrect practice? Something to think about.

Yes you can, but I am not recommending full lotus personally. Just simple cross legged is fine.

All problems you currently have will vanish after some time of the practice. Calms the heart, heals the kidney, generates energy, begins to clear the pathways, nourishes the brain indirectly, establishes a good base, connects front and back channels... It does quite a bit. Totally no need for testicle breathing, in my opinion.

I think natural breathing will take care of your needs perfectly.

Hehe, a blue hersheys kiss. Bindu is supposedly a point which represents the unmanifest...like a zero point within the body. If you put your energy into it, other energy is kicked out of it. I think "relics" may be related to bindu points, where if it's activated it becomes crystallized. Not totally sure, just an idea. I'd be interested to know more, also!

I don't have experience with it, but Tibetans use Vajrasattva for this.

any helpful advice for me to understand of 'feeling Qi'
Aetherous replied to noelle's topic in General Discussion
Relax your hands, and shake them vigorously in front of you for a few minutes. When they're warm, stop abruptly. You will feel qi easily. But feeling qi isn't important, in my opinion. If you focus on that, it becomes an attachment and IMO is harmful. Lots of "qigong masters" die young... -

I think putting all other fingers over the thumb works fairly well. But it's also using up your personal energy to do this mudra, or any other mudra. I don't notice any difference whatsoever with thumb to index. If you visualize the color orange it can help raise your spirits and draw you within. Smiling helps. Meditating on the breath in the time that you're not around other people is good to establish the internal calm. Energy leaking is always due to YOU...your state of mind. It's not because of anyone else...it's because your spirit is engaging in the world and using your life force to do it. So build a supply of life force in the lower dantien, center yourself, and there's no problem. You can hang out with all the vampires and actually enjoy yourself...phew!

Sorry if this has been asked before... When I search people's old posts, only 8 pages or the most recent 200 results are available. Often times there was an awesome post that I remember from like a year ago, and turns out that I can't find it due to this limit. Is there a way to take the limit off of the search function?

Thanks guys.

That is draining your life force and power. If you stop taking it you will gradually improve from your current state of being, which is very weak and dim. It will take a few years of sobriety at least.

You would.

The shape of the symbol (among other aspects of it, such as the tactile feel of it...all senses) morphs your entire energy body, and causes a corresponding effect in the physical. It is your yi...and qi follows yi. You can program all sorts of things into it, refining your qi into whatever you desire. Good to know what you want and how to get it. I prefer to feel-visualize rather than see-visualize. When you are picturing (seeing) something in your mind's eye, it always takes place near the front of the forehead on the screen of your imagination. But if you feel it, it can be anywhere in the body and is more grounding. This differentiation comes through personal experience. "The five colors blind the eye" might be related to inner visualization of symbols...in this interpretation of the TTC verse, it's a very positive thing to be "blind". This idea comes from Michael Saso's book, "The Gold Pavilion".

Are there any authentic Egyptian internal practices? Are the shamanic methods of the early Egyptians still alive today?

I have another question. Why did all of the crazy symbolism come about in Egypt? Like the ankh for instance...you don't find that symbol in nature. You don't see human beings walking around with animal heads. Where did they get these ideas from?
