  1. Third Eye

    I don't think so!
  2. Books!

    Ah, nevermind.
  3. Books!

I think it's just a "doing the right thing" attitude here. By the way, I think the off topic forum is unmoderated.
  4. Where to start

Yeah that is helpful for us "Westerners" to contemplate.
  5. Kuji-In -The Nine Buddhist Hand Seals

Finally got around to checking out Stephen Hayes' Kuji-in DVD. My personal preference is very much in favor of Francois Lepine's stuff.
  6. Where to start

Yea, if you just browse the forum you'll figure out what works best for you.
  7. Quality tea ware for Chinese teas

Awesome, I'm getting one of those tea tables.
  8. Third Eye

Thanks Lino for the heads up on Robert Peng. I will be checking out his stuff!!
  9. The Serpent - Satan?

    Same here.
  10. What is the source of experience?

Well, seems as if she's always been there.
  11. Third Eye

Yes, not as a stand alone method.
  12. Third Eye

I think "beating the jade drum" is really helpful.
  13. Why?

It's in a lot of different traditions. In certain parts of Taoism I think it's called the "mount tai" hand seal for binding spirits. Besides Buddhism, I was also told it's part of tantra, and read here on the forum that it's in Bon. I am not initiated into anything with it...I just like how fun it is to do! Quite the gang sign...
  14. Why?

There can be only one! Personally, I started because I felt like it was the most important thing to do (had some misguided selfish desires, too). I was super passionate, willing to sacrifice everything for "enlightenment" whatever that was. Continued because it was what I was meant/told to do...the whole time I wanted to understand the human body, in order to help others heal. Now, I'm continuing this learning. It is the most interesting and fulfilling thing for me to do.
  15. Who still doing Tao of Nature - Daosim?

    Chi in Nature
  16. "When have the ducks ever flown away?"

He can, and will eventually, regardless of anything...the ducks did fly away, and they have nothing to do with his antics.
  17. Ayurveda

Ah, my bad. I didn't see that menu...yes, great site!
  18. "When have the ducks ever flown away?"

The student answered, "About 5 seconds ago. Now would you please stop twisting my nose!?"
  19. Not that I have a say, but I think Raymond Wolter should be welcomed back. "Cheerleader" is not an insult. Not saying anything about cat...all my respect to her... Because of what happened to Raymond, some are confused, and thinking that the moderation here is KAP biased. My apologies for making your work harder, mods, even if that only means reading this. Peace!
  20. Qi Gong when there is no mobility

Hello Nina, It is totally possible to do energy work without the use of the legs, while supine. That's actually how I prefer to most of my practices! Small universe seems like a great idea. Another thing he can do is smiling. It can seem hard to do at times, but it's really easy to fake a smile, and it has the same effect for lightening the energy and getting energy to flow. In the beginning it's good to smile really huge, and maybe laugh a bit. Some say that if you don't smile while doing your energy work, then it's 10x less effective...
  21. Ayurveda

Looks like good info! Here is a book I like that does Ayurvedic nutrition a little differently, by having food lists for mixed dosha types. For instance, it includes vata-pitta, pitta-kapha, vata-kapha... http://www.amazon.com/Ayurveda-Balance-Complete-Ayurvedic-Nutrition/dp/089281490X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1281211878&sr=8-1
  22. I'm looking to learn about Daoist magic.

Hello poetguy, I think you will have to train with these kinds of practitioners in person, for a long time, to truly get knowledge of it.
  23. Guidelines for the Breath

Very nice instructions. Some energetic things that can help...place your palms down on your knees, and also utilize the huiyin (anal) lift on the exhale, gently. Also, bring your mind, feelings and sensations within the lower dantien area. If you practice from 11pm-1am it's the best time for this...although any time it can be beneficial. I think sipping water from time to time during it helps. For the mechanical aspects, I consider joeblast (a forum member here) our resident expert!
