It doesn't matter who loses energy during sex - what matters is if you're practicing something good. If you are, then you don't lose energy. If you aren't, and are stuck on thoughts about losing energy during sex, you will lose tons of energy even when you're not having sex. So practice is the key. Just do it.

Thanks B...totally agree with you.

Hmm... 1) We don't know that electricity cures cancer, so we shouldn't say that it does. 2) If we really believe that it does, we should still be responsible and admit that we haven't fully tested it. 3) If it does help in some cases, is that going to be true in all cases, or are some people going to be seriously hurt? Once again, we don't know and are walking into dangerous territory. 4) I'm not trying to start any kind of debate about the corruption of Western medicine...I'm simply looking to keep people from doing damaging things to themselves. What we say has a lot of power...people pick up on little catch phrases like "zappers cure cancer" and assume it's true. What if it's the opposite of true, and it actually causes cancer? That's the last thing I'll say, because it's really the only point and contention I have...
-
I just think it's risky to say something (that's potentially very dangerous) cures cancer, when we truly don't know. How many Tao Bums will think applying zappers to themselves is actually healthy? Too many already! Sure a lot of people will die during the time it takes to get something published, who could possibly benefit from such treatments...but on the flip side, if the treatment isn't actually healing, they will be better off having not gotten it! Personally, I've done my own experimentation, and tend to be very cautious with using electrical currents for healing. Seems to be really bad for the organs. It shouldn't even be necessary for true healers, since the body stores and produces a ton of electrical current anyway...hmm... By the way, you said - what motivation is there to study a treatment that costs little to nothing? Well there are numerous studies on exercise being beneficial...that's a totally free activity. People perform and submit studies to journals in order to further medical knowledge, to help people. So if electrical currents do in any way cure cancer, you'd think that someone would be submitting their research...yet there is nothing out there.

Santi and Susan, Well as far as I can see, the study isn't peer reviewed or published. Which means that the people involved may be biased. That is a big deal. Basically if I had the title of 'Dr' added onto my name, I could do a false study and just say, "yeah we tested it at this university and it cures cancer! Buy my product now!" My point is that if it's not peer reviewed, then it's basically worthless...especially if it presents a risk to people who don't know what they're doing! I would advise all those who are interested in actually helping others heal, to not spread statements like "electrical currents cure cancer".

Is this just what he believes, or is it proven and accepted in the medical community? Source?

This is more of my type, Biff... (Yes I like it when they wear funny costumes)

Not really sure what the question is, but some ideas... There are mudras for improving digestion and elimination in Francois Lepine's Kuji-in 1 book. Also, eating papayas helps to digest better. Other than that, it's best to eat something right away when you're hungry, and not stuff yourself with food...so maybe get 6 smaller meals a day.

I really like the first part of Baolin Wu's 9 palaces system (found in his Qigong for Total Wellness book). Deals very effectively with the upper gate by different types of self massage.

Kate, He needs to go to a psychiatrist, because there are very deep issues which can't be worked out by any of us here. He keeps putting it off, but it really is the key for him.

Qigong:The Secret of Youth book by Yang Jwing-Ming
Aetherous replied to saltydeath's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, a little. YJM has some good DVDs out on embryonic breathing and small universe. Focus on those! They are the yi jin aspect. To do basic marrow washing, simply massage yourself and exercise after qigong. Another thing he mentions in his Root of Chinese Qigong book, is "qi shield" type exercises to strengthen guardian qi. This is also a basic form of marrow washing, which is a visualization exercise as well. One that I like is called Golden Bubble (from Shuichuan qigong). You just feel a golden bubble surrounding your body, which draws erratic energy out of the body, and also keeps it from entering. -
You don't need to be celibate to retain your jing. They say 100 days for a reason...it ends and you go back to your normal, healthy life. Sex is natural and very good for you. If someone is relying on celibacy to have energy, then they haven't yet accomplished the foundations of the training.

Practise both dan tien meditation and budhist mindfulness?
Aetherous replied to Boris's topic in General Discussion
You are already mindful. Having enlightened mind isn't a choice you make...it's our natural condition! So 'mindfulness' isn't something you practice. Having your attention of breathing at the nose is calming, and this is why Buddhists use that spot. Having your attention at the dantien is also calming...and it's grounding, healing and empowering. So dantien breathing is really the most ideal method. And it's still "mindfulness". -
Yogic diet a way to achieve breatharianism?
Aetherous replied to mewtwo's topic in General Discussion
You have to achieve balance and harmony of your energies, and heal the body. The best diet to eat includes all sorts of different foods in moderation. The best thing to do is get with a nutritionist, as well as a personal trainer... Because eating a special way isn't going to help you achieve breatharianism...it's just going to harm your body and energies even more. -
Thanks Sean...change is good!

Satyagraha wrote, Now this is a good practitioner! Seriously. They know what the problem is (management of emotions), and what to practice (no K1 for the time being). PM me if you want, and I'll tell you a couple things to focus on, that can help you maintain balance.

Hmm, I caught a Malware Defense virus, and it destroyed my computer for the weekend. Had to get it reimaged. Nothing to do with my scanner. I advise people to go to a different website to watch the video!!! By the way, what antivirus/spyware do you use, effilang? I want to get a good one to ensure I don't catch that virus again!

It should be considered, but genes must also be considered as others have said. Taoist practices should make us more youthful...but that is rarely the case, due to everyone not practicing in the right way.

Agree with Bum Grasshopper. Personally, I just like a half of a glass. To balance the effects, I drink more water. More than 2 glasses in a day for cultivators is noticeably bad.

Hmm...I got a virus from that Ninja site just now. Kinda pissed off.

One with universe = seeing everything ... really?
Aetherous replied to Owledge's topic in General Discussion
It's just like the way things are right now, except without some of the perceptual filters. Not worth talking about. -
True.

Breathing is the key to acupressure...because stimulating points will just kick up more yuck that you won't know how to process. Breathing processes everything. The best resource I've found is Embryonic Breathing by Yang Jwing Ming. The best tool I've found is the Stress Eraser. In addition to that foundation, zusanli (ST36) is considered a very important point. To stimulate it, just move your ankles comfortably up and down for a few minutes (contracting and relaxing your tibialis anterior) then sit still for a bit. I like to do that after sitting cross legged. In my own opinion, this is more effective than pressing with the fingers. Zusanli is hard to locate exactly. Plus you are activating the skeletal muscle pump to promote lymphatic flow (gets rid of toxins); and another thing is that you are strengthening a commonly weakened muscle, so poise (moving posture) will improve slightly. Anyway if you want to research more I suggest reading the Ling Shu. I haven't personally checked out that translation, but own "A Manual of Acupuncture" by Peter Deadman, and all of the most useful information comes from the Ling Shu.

The picture is fake. Here's a real one... But I agree with you.
