My PT client just broke both of her legs in a car accident
Aetherous replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
Here's an example of a practice that I like to call Waterfall Breathing... XMFqBv2f9Zc Crappy video. Only linking it because it shows the arm movement. Some good aspects to add are... 1) On the inhale spread the palms wide open to the sky. On the exhale, relax them facing the earth. 2) Smile and breathe into the belly. If she needs help smiling, watch some giggling baby videos on youtube, or if that's not her kind of humor, Idiocracy. 3) The eyes gently follow the hand position, moving slightly up and down, looking at nothing in particular. 4) Drop with the elbows on the exhale, don't push down with the hands. After like 50 relaxed breath movements (the more the merrier), have her sit still with the palms over the dantien until the feelings subside. Then massage the whole body from the top down. -

I agree with that. There's a time for the kunlun posture which everyone talks about, but it's not all that you need! It's simply a powerful thing to do. Like all things that are powerful, it's not healthy for some people to do it too often. Follow your symptoms closely, and don't ignore them. When you have bad symptoms, if you care about a balanced and safe awakening, then focus on other things. If you care about a more powerful awakening, focus on other things. Or practice however you feel is best...just my view.

The decision to go against natural instinct
Aetherous replied to glooper23's topic in General Discussion
Taoists go with the flow of the Tao, not the flow of humans. They are natural...nature is pretty calm most of the time. Even during a storm, it is calming. Desiring things isn't calm...it's erratic! Following your evil (yes, I said it) desires only results in trouble. So...pretty unTaoist. -
I like Steve, and don't mind whatever he's saying. He reminds me a lot of my best friend, in the way he acts and his energy. It's kinda hard to care about the reputation of a practice...seems silly. My apologies...just had a good night out. Maybe I'll put on my serious face again soon.

"You should use expedient means" What does this mean?

What criticisms?

Biff, I don't think this is a good place to have discussions about the mechanics...plus I don't want to be a spokesperson, and also don't 'know it all' so my viewpoint is limited. I feel bad that this topic has divided good people...

New Dawn Fades (Starjumper7) hasn't practiced Kunlun.

Mikaelz, Perceiving the inner sound as naturally outside of your head is good. It's not imagined. They say that the inner sounds are really your auditory perception of energy flow. So this means that you're hearing your nerves and bones vibrating, which are being affected by the magnetic flows outside of the body, and you're perceiving the nature of those flows. Anyway that's my theory.

Hey Alethaeia, Here are a couple of recent related topics: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=13102&st=0 http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=12692&hl=0

Spring Forest Fundamentals is a great product.

I agree, Sloppy Zhang. However, during my transmissions I got a distinctly different vibe than the type of vibe in this topic. Thinking along these same lines...we can basically create a "lineage" just by imagining things in our minds. Like a Blue Sky Eagle lineage. There you go...tap into that. Much better, and takes care of the snake problem. Also something to think about...are transmissions solely about these vibes? Isn't this all supposed to be about enlightenment? Nah Hardy, you're awesome.

I like Yang Jwing Ming. Reliable scholarly info...much more trustworthy than WKK! His embryonic breathing book, from what I've heard, and from seeing a preview on the web, has good instruction. However, YJM's stuff isn't meant to be a good guide for a beginner to practice from.

Why are you seeing reptiles, Steve? Just from thinking about Kunlun? Edit: whoops you kinda answered my question already.

You're welcome, Durkhrod.

Gold, I agree with that, and respect you.

When I was first getting into qigong he seemed really appealing. Now that I know a little bit, I would advise you to look elsewhere!

Have you been paying attention to sunsets?
Aetherous replied to Taomeow's topic in General Discussion
Nice. -
One of my favorite subjects, sound-wise. Tiny details, like what type of wood used in the instrument, make a huge difference to a trained ear.

Seems undeniably so at times. -
Yeah, I almost "got you" didn't I? That wasn't the point.

Gold, I like both of you equally, but it sounds like you're backed into a corner. Why not just answer him? I'm sure it'd be interesting to see, if someone with a lot of mystical experience turned out being basically a philosopher.
