  1. No. Maintaining a state of oneness is not enlightenment/realization.
  2. TONIC GOLD for Internal Alchemy

Interesting. If you try it out, please let us know what you think.
  3. 2012 is not the end of the world

Great informative article. It is the opinion of the experts that the world won't end. If it does, whatever that means, then it won't matter anyway. So we might as well go on believing that our lives on Earth will continue. I like this paragraph...
  4. reverse microcosmic orbit

Be cautious if you're pushing unrefined energy through the orbit. It should be flowing like a river (or actually more like a "connection" than a "flow" from point to point), not like tree sap. To refine it, keep working on the dan tien...full breathing and hands placed there. If a point is stuck, such as the throat, it can help to massage the acupoints of the conception vessel above and below it. In fact if you're getting stuck, I think it's best to not even try to move energy around. But everyone does what they feel is right, and then learns for themselves.
  5. My goal is to continue with my practice until it achieves the end result in the most complete manner. And also to enjoy my life on my own terms while I do that. I think the second part is more important than the first.
  6. Stress Eraser

Oh, I just find the radial pulse.
  7. Santa Claus the Magic Mushroom

Ah, I see...but it does have some sort of mind altering effect? I had the impression you were basically saying it does nothing.
  8. Santa Claus the Magic Mushroom

What effects did AM mushrooms have for you, Carson?
  9. Stress Eraser

Sweet. Please update on the Wild Divine stuff if you check it out. The main reason I'm interested in the Stress Eraser is for the feature of finding the optimal breathing rate. Many people who are beginning breathing practices have trouble relaxing, and some try to go too deep and long right away...when it'd actually be healthier for them to breathe slightly more shallow and short. It seems accurate that by using different methods of biofeedback, we can determine what's best for us individually at the moment. In Baolin Wu's Qigong for Total Wellness book, he recommends to time our breaths with the pulse; 4 beats for inhale, 4 beats for exhale, with no pausing in between. This would mean that for someone with a heart rate of 60 bpm, they will breathe approximately 8 times per minute...and someone with a heart rate of 100 bpm, will breathe approximately 13.3 breaths per minute...according to this method. I think I did the math correctly: (100 bpm / 60 seconds) x 8 beats per full breath = ~13.3 breaths/minute In using the Stress Eraser, I want to see if this pulse count is accurate.
  10. clubbells

I have used them a lot in the past. They are a fad...totally unnecessary. Although I like using them more than kettlebells. Whatever gets you working out is good.
  11. Alcohol since we can remember

Vajrahridaya, Did you mean that you can't have any beers while cultivating? I have found that 1 is perfectly fine, and 2 is pushing it...
  12. Andrew Lum/Patrick Moon contact

Thank you Xi. I do believe that your intention was respectful and good. _/\_
  13. Hello bums!

    Yes good name. Welcome.
  14. Andrew Lum/Patrick Moon contact

I agree, Sifu Hata, your actions do come off as "shady". And the old saying, "if you point your finger at someone else, 3 others are pointing back at you" totally applies to many of the accusations. For instance, using the Lum/Maoshan name to attract more followers...isn't it you who is doing that here? We should remember that Max is done teaching, and therefore isn't using the names and isn't attracting any more followers. About the Kunlun/Maoshan claims... At one time, someone from the forum (xienkula is I think how you spell their screenname) contacted Sifu Lum about the Red Phoenix practice. Sifu Lum knew it, and said that it was specifically for Max. It was taught from him to Max. This is documented on this forum. So at least personally, that's all the proof I need in order to continue practicing. Besides the fact that it works. If something was simply made up by Max, it wouldn't have any effect, or the effect would just be imagined. That is not the case with RP. I consider all of the rest of this to be "politics". It has its place, and I respect that. Anyway, thanks for the updates on the Maoshan lineage.
  15. Carl Jung's Secret Book To Be Published

Wow this actually looks amazing. Too bad it's over 100 bucks. Oh well...there will probably be a scanned version downloadable as a torrent soon enough.
  16. Antioxidant and pesticide content in common foods.

Everything is give and take. Moderation and balance is always suggested for good reason. Some of the apparently best foods...such as chocolate, berries and spinach...have high oxalate content. Check this website: http://whfoods.org/genpage.php?tname=george&dbid=48 So don't believe all of the nutrition advice you hear, even if it's from highly qualified nutritionists. Listen to your body. If you feel normal, then you're doing okay. If you feel odd in any way, then something is off. We need to consume both "good" and "bad" things in order to be healthy. For instance, having olive oil (good) as well as saturated fats in meat (bad). Just because something is "good" doesn't mean it's always good, and just because something is "bad" doesn't mean you should reject it completely from your diet. If we only have unsaturated fats in our diet, our cell membranes will be too pourous and it'll increase our risk of cancer. Funny, huh? About antioxidants...the liver produces glutathione naturally, which if I remember correctly is the most powerful antioxidant. We are designed to self heal. So my view is that we should eat things which help the liver do this. I think a big key is having n-acetyl cysteine, and l-glutamine in our food. I came up with a mixture of foods which can help this greatly... yogurt, papaya (or kiwi), cod liver oil and sunflower seeds.
  17. Alcohol since we can remember

Getting wasted is dumb. It's enjoyable to have a couple of beers with friends.
  18. Yeah, you gotta work out. But just walking or doing chores counts as a workout.
  19. Zhan Zhuang Standing information

Actually the training effect increases somewhat exponentially after each hour. Do some research on VO2max.
  20. Santa Claus the Magic Mushroom

    Excellent.
  21. Is Capoeira the Supreme Martial Art?

    Woooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...................................
  22. Kunlun Book

Longevity breathing is absolutely not a problem, and in fact, it's necessary to practice in order to advance in your practice and also to avoid "qi sickness".
  23. Oh sorry..."level 3". I got to level 3 without snipping, simply by practicing a lot in the right way.
  24. Practicing kechari mudra on an airplane while doing emptiness meditation, it seemed like I had a heart attack. Looking back, I think it was, but I was too cocky at the time to go get it checked out. I was 23 and very healthy.
  25. Microcosmic Orbit

Moon Knight, That info is correct, according to Yang Jwing Ming's material, but I think you mixed up the wind and water paths. Maybe I'm wrong...not a big deal. The book I recently recommended, Shakti Circuit, explains the reverse MCO very well. I highly suggest reading that for those interested in this topic. The ebook can be found here: http://www.christblueprint.com/index.php?section=102
