Mostly a bad vibe thing...however I think all cues come into play. The way people behave and carry themselves can reveal everything about them. It's just like sensation is opened up in the brain so that the inner eye ends up creating a picture of whatever it is. It's not accurate...but it can look like a dim picture of normal vision. Sometimes in meditation it'll happen, but it will seem like I'm looking out in a totally different room...don't know why that happens. You'd assume that it would be the same room. So yeah not accurate...not impressive...just interesting.

Well personal experience beats theory...so what works for you is best. I haven't experimented with it enough to say for sure...but it does seem that for me the neck exercises were better when done at a not-slow pace. I don't think it's natural for the neck to be stretched...just natural to move it. That is just my experience.

I sorta have...nothing fancy though. No. I tend to view it as me just being delusional, because it's a waste of time to focus on it. But yeah, sometimes my dreams show something that happens in the future. Sometimes I can see a little bit with different parts of my body. And I tend to know a person's character and feelings just by looking at them for a second. These are things that can't easily be proven...and I wouldn't be interested in trying. I'm too lazy. They aren't skills that I have, they just happen to me sometimes. If I tried I'd fail at it. Plus it's not a consistent thing, so even if it was proven once, that doesn't mean it'll work the next time...so who cares. A healthier lifestyle is the biggest factor in greater health and vitality...I don't think the spiritual has much to do with it. I tried.

Is this just a Chinese book telling people that it's good to be ruthless and cunning?

Good topic, man. XSZ is awesome. I always wonder how they figured out some of those exercises, since some are very precise in healing the spine (correlate exactly with some osteopathic self exercises). Well, there is a lot of research out there on muscle physiology and stretching which says that it'd actually be healthier for the tissue to go through the exercises in a medium paced way. It'd be more beneficial to just go through the whole routine multiple times throughout the day, than do the whole thing once super slowly. It's good to research on something like pubmed on your own, and come to your own conclusions. Just type in "stretching" and I'm sure thousands of articles will come up! Not saying you're "wrong" by the way! Just another opinion, and I'm hoping it helps!

My experience with a SCENAR (mine cost over $1000) was highly disappointing, personally. Want to try it out? I've been trying to sell it for a couple of months now! I don't believe in electromedicine, and actually think sometimes it can be harmful. And zappers are absolute BS...just my opinion.

Whatever you think would contain the best info to be able to start practicing the beginning level.

Exercise (running is good). Awareness watching awareness/abandon release meditation. Slow down in your life and relax.

I like to swim in Lake Superior (one of the great lakes in the USA...it's freezing cold most of the year), and go to this waterfall area near there. Much more fun than just doing a cold shower.

How Do You Control Your Emotions?
Aetherous replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
I'm just saying it's good to be natural. If someone insults you, then that's a fact of your life, and your feeling shouldn't be repressed. It is what it is. So I personally choose to allow myself (as if I actually have a choice? ) to feel whatever I'm going to feel, and also choose to control how I respond. So if I'm insulted and take offense, I might feel like punching the person in the face, but I don't do it. Or maybe I do if it's the right situation... Sometimes I vent my frustration. For instance, sometimes my mom seriously makes me angry. Like right at this moment I had just gotten done having a discussion with her which was seriously annoying...sometimes she just does that to me. When it gets really bad, I have to do something with all of that anger...at this point in my life, sometimes it doesn't just flow through me. So the other week I went outside and chopped wood really aggressively, and did a bunch of knuckle push ups, breathing really intensely. Gotta do what you gotta do. This is just my view, that it's good to "be yourself", and not try to bend yourself into some impossible ideal of having no emotion. With this attitude, emotions pass through quickly and don't get stuck in the body. The spirit can remain pure, and undivided. A newborn screams and wails and kicks around, yet isn't this the Taoist role model? -

You're a good guy! Follow your destiny before anything else, and don't be pushed this way and that by other's opinions. _/\_ -
How Do You Control Your Emotions?
Aetherous replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
I choose not to control my emotions. Don't think it's a good idea. But I control my behavior. -
Money? Anyway, I agree this topic should probably just be left alone/closed/deleted. Some things are taboo for a reason.

No. Adults that show the children are pedophiles. What do I think about that? I think nothing of children having sex, because I'm not a pedophile. It doesn't cross my mind, and when someone forces it to cross my mind, like in this topic, I still think nothing of it because I'm not interested in children having sex. I don't see what more there is to discuss on this topic.

Drew is so awesome. That's what I've always heard, that he was laying down.

Well yes you're very right, but I just meant that whoever "invented" it probably wasn't trying to come up with a pose which is structurally sound...they were probably aiming for the energetic effect. Just my opinion.

I've experienced the "some sort of esoteric benefit" from half-lotus. If they were looking for a structurally good way to sit, why not just lean against a wall? Don't know how to explain what happens. Drew Hempel who used to post here a lot said it acted like a karma-burner. All I know is that I felt more bliss when I sat in half lotus.

It depends on what kind of mental illness it is and how severe it is. Then a court would be the best decider as to whether he was guilty or not of pedophilia. People may disagree with the court's decision, but the reason why courts were invented was to help everyone come to a decision on how justice should be carried out. Yes, some children are bad and would try to trick someone with a mental illness into having sex. Hopefully it doesn't happen.
-
If the child fools the adult into having sex, it's still pedophilia because the adult should be smart enough not to follow along. I'm sorry to those who have had this happen to them, but most likely in court they will be found guilty...and also, children don't know what they're doing even if it seems like they do. In this case, the child would be for the most part unknowingly doing something bad to themselves. It's up to the responsible adult to make sure they don't do such things.

Hugo and I just had a nice chat. He's a good guy, I think. About the discussion... Taking a nap with a kid, especially if they're your own, is fine. If they are someone else's kid, you should have permission from the parents. Sleeping isn't a bad thing! If you are having sexual feelings during it, then you shouldn't share the bed with them even if you are just sleeping. To be in the same bed with a child while having sexual feelings, is pedophile behavior. If the child tells you they want to know about sex, and you have a close relationship with them...it is always pedophile behavior to show them what it's like. Even if it was them who started it. In my experience, girls that have had sex with an adult when they were little, wind up being very messed up as adults. It's ugly what happens to the psyche of such a child. At least in our culture (any culture which criminalizes pedophilia), these kids aren't ready for it. They won't be able to cope with what happened, no matter who they are or what they think/feel. Maybe in some tribe where it's been their custom for a long time, it's not a problem...or maybe it still is a problem, and that culture isn't doing the right thing. What everyone needs to do is look at the results from pedophilia. What does it do to the kid? In my experience with knowing a few people who had it happen, it is actually very bad.

I believe you, Hugo.
