Who Here Meditates At Least 1 Hour Every Day?
Aetherous replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
I usually do about an hour of practice per day. The practice itself varies based on what I need to accomplish. Ideally, I'd be practicing 3 hours...but then there wouldn't be time for taobums! -
He's obviously a high level soul. What kid in their right mind would step down from the throne, to go to college?!?

W....T....F...?

A fellow taobum just lent me a copy of Winn's version. It's a peaceful tape... Anyway, there are quite a few details in Rubbo's version which aren't in the Winn version. Who knows how important they are, but their two versions of the same form differ quite a bit in my opinion. So despite someone knowing Winn's form, I would recommend also checking out Rubbo's ebook as well.

Even though I don't like horrors, the trailer looked great. I will go see it probably tonight! Thanks.

Full-lotus only hurts when I get out of the position

Another exercise to help with numb legs is a type of kidney-1 breathing... Breathe in through the bubbling wells, up the inner thigh into the perineum then to the lower dan tien, then breathe out along the outer thighs to the bubbling wells. By the way, another request for Silicon to share more info about yonyasana? Thanks. -
This way of thinking isn't healthy. It's not good to act. If you like someone, do what's natural with them...if you want to kiss her, then do it. If you want to get to know her, then tell her. The neurosis is what's pushing them away, not the attraction. Just my view.

Yeah, super impressed. I think all of those interested in Taoist alchemy should check out this book...it contains a lot of great and rare info that you won't find anywhere else!

What is a good breakfast for a TaoBum?
Aetherous replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
Yogurt with fresh papaya (you can include the seeds as well if you want, which are black and add a peppery taste), unsalted sunflower seeds and a swig of cod liver oil. Of course not for every breakfast, but I've found that this combination of foods (or even if taken by themselves) does a lot of good for those doing spiritual practices. It comes close to perfection in my opinion...for those who can't drink the immortal nectar yet. -
I just got Qi Gong for Total Wellness by Baolin Wu. There are some of the most excellent tips in there, that aren't to be found anywhere else. It's a simplified writing style, but also very well explained. For self massage, I recommend this over anything else I've seen. Seriously.

Awesome stuff guys. Silicon, can you share instructions for yonyasana please? I am interested! Nomad, check out yogajournal.com ...look up hip openers, and articles about padmasana/lotus. There's a lot of great tips there. Hip opening is the key to your success with this. -
You can't understand death when you're dead...understanding is only for the living. It's possible to confront your deep seated fear of death directly through certain spiritual practices. I recommend that! I agree that this topic is inappropriate. Taoists seek immortality or longevity, not a quick release. Many actually believe that you would be doing yourself a disservice by committing suicide! Plus it's just unethical to be helping someone kill themselves, who seems suicidal. You should be enjoying your life. Death will come quickly enough! Good luck to you.

I was thinking she might be using it as a kind of upward draw technique...which from what I understand women don't need to do, because their bodies already do it naturally. My bad.
-
What are your goals in practicing this? It's my understanding the women don't need much assistance in the recirculation of sexual energies, so the method seems to me to be just as useful as plain old masturbation.
-
Yep it's just an ebook...you have to be motivated to learn it that way. My experience is that Rubbo's version works the central channel just fine.
-
Rubbo's version. A fellow bum is sending me the Winn version to compare.

I am just getting into this practice, so of course I'm all gung-ho about it...keep that in mind... But primordial qigong has been working great for me. I read somewhere that it's good for heart issues specifically...don't know the truth of that statement, but I do know that it'll help her...if she does it. Many times, the person doesn't want to do something that will help them. Such is their path, and we can't change which way they want to go. I wish her well!

Are there foundation practices you can discuss here, for others to learn? I was interested when I read that they said to hold off on upper dan tien work, since you need a good foundation before that. Well, mainly all of what I practice is upper dan tien! So I'm interested in learning some ground work type stuff, if possible.

The real reason they won't release the torture photos/videos

Edited: Don't want to say it. -
Because I've been shown to be lacking in knowledge and wisdom most of the time. Because I've attained things through practice which I hadn't previously. Because it makes sense that we aren't born knowing what 3 + 5 equals...that we have to learn.
-
You bring up interesting points, but you're wrong. We don't know everything there is to know, and we haven't attained everything there is to attain. It's not about being stupid or trying to be humble when you make yourself as a student...we all have things we can learn. The smart people, in my opinion, never stop learning. They are always students. The "stupid" ones, are those who think they know everything when they don't.

You know what's interesting? Apparently that guy taught himself!

Vortex, Thank you for your review! It seems like it was a great seminar, and maybe one day I will be able to attend one. I don't see how anyone could complain about having a live video conference with Wang Liping, answering questions. Especially with the cost of the seminar plus hotel being so cheap! I mean, compare that to the thousands of dollars you have to spend to go to a seminar in China where you probably won't even be able to ask him questions!
