  1. Speaking in tongues - christian version fake?

    Excellent post, Carson.
  2. Spontaneous Qigong; A Report.

    Agreed. Good post.
  3. How close are you to your top energy levels?

Sunshine, Haha! Well that's interesting...I don't know what to think of it. There are different kinds of things we want...to put it very simply: short term and long term. For example, in the short term, I want everyone to treat me like king of the world. But in the long term I realize that this would blow my ego way out of proportion and I'd end up abusing my power. So if someone were to treat me the way I would want to be treated, I have to ask...which "me"? The short term one will be pissed if he's not treated like king. The long term one will be pissed that he is! Anyway the way you put it has got me thinking... Thanks!
  4. Detoxing.....

Carson, You should probably do the obvious and call her to let her know you're not feeling this is good. Maybe she will have another suggestion.

Wow...it's really weird how aggressive people get over a blissful spiritual practice. Myself included, sometimes. Oh well, I guess that's the way it is. Gloria, sorry I misunderstood you asking to be taken off of the mailing list and not the forum. Dizzy...I'm not accomplished at all, but from what I've seen of your behavior I would be cautious to teach you anything! You need to calm down and be nice. I'm not saying that as some "kunlun spokesperson" which I'm absolutely NOT...I'm saying it as a human being.
  6. Lama Dorje

You asked to be removed from the forum first. Don't you remember? I think it's fair to say, yes, the Kunlun crew hasn't been attentive to our wishes and needs. That's a legitimate complaint. I have issues going on right now that I'd like to get cleared up...for instance after practicing yesterday, the place between my eyebrows is almost sunburnt...for some reason these practices make my skin in that area get all weird. So I ask, and wish a response would show up. Other legit complaints: ones about the marketing, and about warning people in advance fully about what they're getting into. These are all good things to focus on. But making this into a kunlun bashing phenomenon is pointless. Does it provide anyone with progress? Does it improve the way kunlun is presented? No...it just makes you seem like you can't handle your shit. Does it help someone who is thinking of practicing...well it helps them run away quicker. I don't see how this kind of angry aggression helps anyone seriously though. It doesn't even help us...just makes us more attached to our drama.
  7. Lama Dorje

Well, I think that's pretty reasonable. Why would they want someone who can't control their behavior to do a practice which opens them up to their inner demons? Does giving you what you want make someone compassionate?
  8. Alcohol

I see no problem with having a beer. A gallon on the other hand...
  9. Lama Dorje

Nowhere did I say it was okay for them to do that, so I don't know where you got that idea from... I said the way they do things is "not smart or ethical" and agreed with Gloria! So yeah, chill out. Meow. I was only implying that it's impossible for people to answer tons of questions which have little importance. There would just be way too many people signing into the forum, and abusing the privilege to ask something. That kind of did happen a little bit. That's what we get for mass marketed seminar based practices...the inability to have any time to ask good questions due to there being too many people with bad questions. Make sense?
  10. Lama Dorje

WYG was a smart dude...I don't know about this ape guy though.
  11. Lama Dorje

I don't approve of you not approving of my disapproval.
  12. Kunlun follow up poll

Doesn't it make sense that someone would be cautious about what they introduce their daughter to?

Gloria, Your anger is palpable. I don't approve. There's a smart way to go about creating change, and a stupid way. Which do you think anger is? I hope you get your refund...although apparently the K-crew doesn't visit this forum anymore...so you might want to email them.
  15. Beginning QiGong - Best books for exercises?

Ya Mu, I agree, real forms of exercise are even better. The way I see it, is that it's all about what we are cultivating. "Spiritually", standing is good. For health, go for a jog! Just my opinion...
  16. Beginning QiGong - Best books for exercises?

Way of Energy is great to learn standing. Standing is pure qigong and it could be said nothing else is needed. I also like The Way of Qigong by Kenneth Cohen. It has additional tips on standing, as well as being the absolute best introduction to qigong. I asked "what are you hoping qigong will do?" to DaoChild, because when people hear of the health benefits of it, they're only hearing a fraction of the story. As Cohen says in his book, (summarized): if you aren't focusing on having a healthy lifestyle qigong will be disappointing. Qigong's health benefits mainly stem from the relaxation response, which is great. Nothing else. In other words: the more "external" a form is, like taiji, the better it will be for health. So to sum it up: the core of qigong could be considered to be standing, but that's not all there is to it.

DaoChild, What are you hoping qigong will do?

That moment will echo throughout all of eternity.

Who is ever absolutely sure of anything? Maybe the most ethical thing to do is to just shut up until we've achieved a high enough level to be certain...but we're just human and Tao bums. Maybe we'll all look back and wish we hadn't been so misleading for others, or maybe we'll think everything happens for a reason and be able to laugh it off. The greatest thread regarding this subject is the "Kunlun follow up poll" one, because it was showed both sides of the argument, uncensored. Practitioners who were doing it for a long time sharing bad results. It was so awesome, in my opinion. I viewed it as constructive criticism...which is always great. Personally, I stopped the practice for like half a year, but now I'm getting back into it because I recognize it as the root of all practice. No matter what I do, I'm doing kunlun. Everyone is. It's totally unavoidable, because it's the way things are. I think my negative health issues are just my issues...because other practices have brought the same stuff up. Even plain old stillness meditation! Even walking!! I'm working on a solution to the problem, and I think I've stumbled on the right way of doing things...now I'm going to experiment on myself and see that it works. At that point, once I have healed myself of these symptoms, I will be almost absolutely sure I could recommend it.
  20. What are you listening to?

  21. Breath control and counting it

True...I actually don't practice or advocate controlled breathing. My opinion is that the best pranayama is whatever the body does naturally...even if inhalation is a bit longer than exhalation, or vice versa. But I like the website anyway.
  22. Breath control and counting it

Hey Desert, I really enjoyed this website. Try out the universal breathing room. You can listen to the sound on an inhale and exhale, and watch when it says "breathe in" and "breathe out". It takes away from concentrating on counting at the same time. I think you'll like this! http://www.breathetogether.net/
  23. Anybody Ever Hear of This Guy?

Of course I'm interested to see what he does...but I'm very very cautious of giving money to those kinds of "sell-a-cure-all" marketing websites.
  24. Cool...I never understood it in that way!
