Well that's just a connection I made which may not be accurate. The heart area. Also I should add: trying to locate it is useless. It doesn't exist physically. It's just where awareness first becomes aware in the body. It can be figured out by self inquiry. I'll put my personal thoughts on this in my practice journal, later, and save this thread for a discussion on the book itself...
-
It's interesting to me how the assemblage point is the same approximate area that Ramana Maharshi said the seat of the Self is. Where awareness begins to move outwards through the body. I still don't know about the book...trying to read it...

Winpro, I've simply located an inconsistency in your beliefs. There's no need for me to go look back at what I've already read. Either you're not explaining yourself clearly enough, or you're holding onto beliefs which don't match up with reality. Mal, I'm not totally sure about manifestation or how it works, but I am totally sure that there is an objective reality.
-
Oh, so your type of manifestation has to do with imagination, and not the objective reality that we share? Or...if you will say that there is no objective reality, then I'm just a dream character in your world. ...So why are you wasting your time here with us unreal dream characters?
-
So you're not at the level of being able to manifest, yet? Then why are you talking about it?
-
And that is not you?
-
I disagree. This sickness has nothing to do with who I am.
-
Winpro, Can you heal me long distance? I still have negative effects which I'd like gone. By the way, nice to see you here again, Silicon.
-
I'm purchasing it...only 20 bucks and maybe I'll learn something.

Yoda, your take is much more favorable than mine is. I will put what I've been thinking for quite a few months out there... I don't like the changes I've seen in his character and attitude. His change in demeanor is one of the main reasons why I question whether the practice is beneficial or not. ...I can say this publicly because he let me know in a PM quite a while ago that we weren't "friends". So what have I got to lose! Agreed.

I love the instant results from this practice. To me, it is the most powerful one I've learned. Instant enlightenment experiences. It's like you bypass all of your blockages...but maybe that brings some repercussions with it.

I agree with you, Cat. I don't think this thread is lame at all. It's a place where anyone can come and share either side of their story regarding this controversial practice. Positive and negative results. We've all been at the practice for a good amount of time. Enough to be experienced and have the right to speak about it. Many of us have seen everything that's gone on at kunlun forums, too...so there is an even greater perspective here. Symbiots...need I say more. So, this topic is not lame at all. It's a great reflection of many practitioner's results. Those who want everyone to shut up, are the ones who are still unconsciously attached to the practice and teacher. To them, I ask: why do you feel that annoying pull inside of you when you read the posts on this topic? What use is it, that you become offended when people share their real results? Does it show how calm and unattached you are that you are feeling these things? Or, something else...

In my own case, where I wish to practice because I enjoyed the energy and experiences of dissolving, but can't practice because I get sick...I wish this suggestion of yours could be helpful to me.

Sounds like some good results have occurred.

Post KAP 1 Grad Ingredients we cultivate daily.

Yeah personally I like the idea of having tons of practices to choose from. It's making me want to take the course finally...but we'll see. -
Interesting. I always thought it meant where the information came from. Not saying that sarcastically. Just pointing out that I learned something here.

Shikantaza. Just sit there.

I enjoyed Rodney Yee's Power Yoga: Strength and Flexibility. It's really for beginners...but I personally love it. I don't like more advanced stuff. And this isn't exactly power yoga...it's pretty much just sun salutations changed up a bit and done in an easy yet slightly challenging way. Out of any yoga routine, this one was the easiest, most relaxing, and made me feel the best. I agree that Iyengar yoga is good if you can find a decent teacher near you. Otherwise forget it.

Thanks for sharing, Yoda. Everyone's experience is legitimate. The ones who have no troubles, and the ones who have tons of trouble. I'm glad there's this forum where we can all share our experiences, so that others can make a truly informed decision.

I see exactly what you're saying, and agree...but I don't think it can be applied to enlightenment. Yes, someone who is enlightened will still have an ego...a self which they construct in order to function like everyone else...but it will constantly be seen as not who they are. Just a mental construct. Whereas an unenlightened person, no matter how much wisdom they spout from their mouth, will always operate from that mental construct and never see through it. A big ego is almost always a sign of an unenlightened person. Why? Because it's challenging to construct an ego, and even more challenging to give it personality and attitude.

is enlightenment a mental disease, according to psychology?
Aetherous replied to mantis's topic in General Discussion
This is 100% true. Enlightenment is not a feeling of detachment, non-connection and confusion. It's an experience of fully-blown-wide-open perception which expands beyond the unconscious concept of a self, so that you operate from an infinite level....sort of... Of course it's a mental disorder because the common person is stuck in their little mind. It's not always necessarily bad to be extraordinary. -
Gold, Well, likewise. I didn't find his miracles to be all that miraculous. Anyone can change the weather and lift heavy things. Also, anyone can zap someone with energy (which was another thing the book said he did, without trying). And his behavior definitely didn't demonstrate the shift, but rather demonstrated a huge ego believing it had seen it all. Sure, he was further along the path than most. And technically, a stream winner (someone who has had a glimpse) is enlightened. I just don't like to consider that to be the final goal. It's like finally realizing that your room is dirty, yet not taking the time to clean it. After seeing how he toyed around with his followers, with no apparent good result...I would have to say I found what he had to say useless. He was just eccentric and that was his strong suit. Anyway, I agree that we can disagree. It really doesn't matter what we think about him.
-
You don't think I've read the book?? Um...yes, I did. I will stick to my opinion - he had a glimpse and "came back". Real enlightenment is a permanent shift in perception, which based on his actions and words he didn't seem to have attained. Of course he attained a complete glimpse...there is no partial glimpse. But no permanent, deep realization or change in his being. The way he was quoted as describing his experience in the book made it pretty clear to me that it was only a glimpse. Anyone can fake enlightenment and fool themselves. It's easy to become a teacher and forsake some worldly pleasures. Way too easy. Everyone wants to do it! It shows a total lack of wisdom.

It's good to listen to those fibres.
