  1. Kunlun smiling details

It's okay to force the smile, because then you can laugh at how ridiculous you look.
  2. How To Win Friends and Influence People

    That book is great.
  3. Intro Post

    Nice story...welcome.
  4. falun gong question

Some think it's just Chinese govt propaganda, but there are a lot of reports of people getting "qigong deviation" from it. I trust Seth Ananda's opinion especially because he practiced it for 2 years, but this is just something else to consider. Even if the technique is really good, sometimes certain practices are just too powerful for most people.
  5. Phowa teaching film

I trust you Pero, but what's wrong with him?
  6. Yeshe Lama Thogal teachings

As an outsider to Tibetan stuff I'm curious...what is the reason for the book being for insiders only? Are the practices dangerous for someone without the proper foundation of training? Or would it just not work without the foundation? Or what?
  7. Open Letter To Stigwerd

I've heard great things about this charity: www.smiletrain.org
  8. great breathing page!

Fun idea! Seriously, I thought I'd be all negative about it...but Scott approves.
  9. taoists and the military

My opinion is that we shouldn't base our life decisions on what Taoists would theoretically do. Our heart knows what's best. The difficulty is in being quiet enough to understand its language.
  10. Open Letter To Stigwerd

Cool, I wasn't aware. No offense meant to any other culture by what I said, of course. Maybe it's a Canada thing?
  11. Open Letter To Stigwerd

But you wouldn't heal him without the donation. At least where I live and in my culture, if you HAVE to pay money to get something, then you're being "sold" a product. Donations are when you can get it for free, but if you appreciate it, you give some money. But you don't have to! There's a big difference.
  12. Blurry vision after meditation

Padge, I would also suggest doing as much walking as you do seated meditation. Good advice.
  13. Apology

You're good. Everyone gets worked up at the taobums at some point.
  14. The eyes are a reflection of the rest of the body. In other words, I don't think you can often get good results by treating specifically or locally.
  15. Full moon water

    Misinformation?
  16. Full moon water

It's true that you need to have electrolytes with your water, which distilled water doesn't have.
  17. What are you listening to?

This girl attracts me on multiple levels... Ix9GDjjiFbU I like this song and video of hers more... n1wnOUH2jk8 And this one the best (loooooooooveeee)... 5ZxsPYgRhY0 These guys are fun, and this song is too... UtUI5MC9tVM I love this female jazz vocalist's voice, doing a cover of Elliot Smith's "Between the Bars"... FktNzLg_te4 These guys sing great together; crappy version... DUURdXdlT7Q This is good to listen to in the morning ... P9Fm7GbxIGY I like this song by them as well... 2-2jaaBBBX4 Wow that's enough, yeah?
  18. So - you think you have rhythm?

That is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny. Great groove.
  19. Are you hitting a bag? If not, I like what Tim Cartmell says in the book Nei Jia Quan...
  20. Accessable Self-Acupressure

    What does this mean?
  21. Getting more out of music

Madeleine Peyroux's new album "Bare Bones" (female vocalist light jazz) is recorded very well, and is great to just listen to. I don't even like that style of music ...but it's about the timbre. Just perfect on that one. I like to listen to music in the dark, when I'm doing absolutely nothing. So relaxing. Karen, thanks for the book recommendation. I plan on checking that one out!
  22. How did you encounter daoism?

In high school there was an Eastern Literature class that I took, where the teacher was very fond of Taoists.
  23. how do you do it?

I'm going to do it right now.
