SJ, I agree that my spontaneous practice isn't up to par. My energy is still unbalanced for sure. I'd love to learn your system if I were closer to where you are, since it seems really good. In the meantime, I will keep working at Shuichuan and see what happens.

Price: $2,495.00 Taoist Instructor Training
Aetherous replied to Taiji Bum's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Yes. I charge $15,000 a month to be an instructor in the Taoist methods of Scotty. It takes quite a while to learn. But anyway...I think the course would be kinda cool! No, not the Scotty course...the Energy Gates course. -
Awesome! Thanks for the report, James. Makes me want to give KAP a shot. Maybe in a few months.

Forbidden rice...the purple stuff that tastes nutty? Pretty good. For kidney yang deficiency, I've read you should just not eat or drink cold stuff.

Darin, Yes, they are amazing. I've had a couple of girlfriends like this, myself. Supporters of our passions. I think this is the kind of "target" we should be looking for as "arrows". I don't think men and women will ever approach things in the same fashion as eachother. Men will tend to be, generally, more advancing in their nature. And women will tend to be, generally, more accepting. On the surface it may not appear that way...but on a very deep level, it's so true. ...About whether or not a woman will want to seek ascension and everything: it's very possible that many will. As human beings we can want all sorts of things for various reasons. The only thing is: if a woman is seeking ascension, it will probably not be for the same reasons that men are seeking it.

If someone wants it for free or very cheap, then that only shows how much they value it. Everyone is free to do what they want, which includes charging tons of money for their knowledge. We're lucky if we find a generous teacher. That's all.

I think Taomeow is right, or at least very very close. Kind of blew my mind that a woman can know such things about herself/her gender. Brilliant.

I was looking into it more, and it does seem like chiropractors have multiple techniques to accomplish this. They tend to think that atlasprofilax is kind of a scam...but if it works, that's all that matters. This website has lots of info: http://www.upcspine.com/default.asp

It's a pretty simple book, but The Art of Chi Kung by Wong Kiew Kit is a book that has good practices and is fairly comprehensive. If you work with it, it'll be a great start, and something to refer back to over the years. I have paged through Opening the Energy Gates of your Body by BK Frantzis, and it looked decent. In fact I'll probably go pick it up tonight. Also, a traditional Chinese medicine book: Between Heaven and Earth. It's good to be able to have some knowledge so you could potentially heal yourself from any negative results you get from your practices (yes it's very possible). I like this book because it has food recommendations as well as charts to help you diagnose what the imbalance might be. I think working with TCM is a must for properly doing any spiritual practices. Often times people mistake imbalances as good results. ..and yes my text is wild!

SJ, That may be the case for some people. I would agree that it's not qigong in that case, if they're copying movements. But if it's spontaneous movement, then it's spontaneous qigong. In my case, not that it matters, I can say certainly that I'm doing spontaneous qigong...because I'm dealing not just with flopping around, vibrating, circle walking, hippie dancing...but I also am perceiving the energy that results from it. I am certainly not at a level beyond beginner, and I haven't gotten rid of my sick qi...but it's still spontaneous qigong. I have no idea what people tend to do at higher levels. But yeah I would assume that things would be different.
-
People should surrender to whatever happens. If it's "lowest common denominator" flopping around, that's what they need. If they do anything but surrender, then it's not spontaneous.

I think the proper method is allowing the breath to do what it needs to while having correct spinal alignment, and a dissolved mind. If the mind isn't dissolved, then be aware of those parts which are manifesting, until they disappear. Any conscious act of controlling the breath directly is dangerous. That's my opinion.

Please continue doing what you do...if I seem bothered that's my problem! It's all good, my friend.

Thanks for those links, AMER KHAN...I will probably be checking that out!

What's non-linear energy manipulation? Like applying energy to someone in a non specific way that treats them overall? Or does it refer to a healing process that's more intuitive? Or...?
-
It seems like all the breatharians starved to death.

I meant no offense to you, mwight. I just don't like how everyday there's this new "scientific" discovery that is supposedly the golden ticket. It's almost always based on hardly any research, and almost always dangerous if taken seriously.
-
So here's what we do... 1) Find people who believe everything that scientists hypothesize based on incomplete research. 2) Make those people drink tons of heavy water, and eat hydrogen enhanced foods everyday for their entire lives. 3) Monitor their changes, and the changes in their kids over a few generations. 4) See the results! ...I am tending to think that it wouldn't be so good. Life might be prolonged, but will it be enhanced? Plus...the research was done on mice, who live very different lives from human beings. We have no idea if it'd be good or really bad for us. From the article itself:

It's all the same if you let go.

I remember his website saying his vajra meditation had to do with visualizing tons of deities praying in the midst of a storm.
-
I totally agree. It's hard for me personally to let go of conscious movements. There is spontaneous a lot but sometimes it's me. It's something for me to strive towards.
-
No one knows.

How does free movement/going with the flow differ from spontaneous qigong?
