Spontaneous Adjustment Qi Kung seminar
Aetherous replied to Spirit Ape's topic in General Discussion
I should delete those videos. Yep that is what I remember from what Max taught us in NJ. The last couple moves of the form I didn't quite get down. And I'm practicing it kind of in an aggressive way...I should really delete those. I've only covered the spontaneous movement portion of Shuichuan so far. There is more stuff that's taught. So far I'm enjoying it a lot, and email is just fine...but I don't like to recommend things until I've been at it for a while. -

Yep. This one is done standing up, no postures at all, just relaxed. I prefer it this way...at least for myself. -

Yes, it does seem like a lot was added by Max. Whether that's good or not is up to the practitioner. Is it lying? I don't know... As for myself, I've moved on from some of what's taught in kunlun but keep other stuff. Some is good and maybe some isn't. -
www.konakavafarm.com seems like a good idea. Everytime I tried kava in my teens, it wasn't all that great. Then recently a friend of mine met up with some dudes from Fiji who invited him to a ceremony, and he reported that he actually did get kind of drunk and super relaxed from it. So I think that maybe I hadn't tried any good kinds of it. I will order from Kona Kava Farm and try it out next week.

That's true, but they tend to sabotage themselves constantly. That's what learning about this stuff is all about.

It's not about believing. PUAs tend to experiment and see for themselves what works, then they share that knowledge. Very few girls (unless there's something wrong with them) want to be deceived into bed. But I don't think that's what it's all about. It's more about being able to dodge the barriers that women have set up towards meeting new guys. These days, if you're an attractive guy with a great lifestyle, you can approach 10 women and 9 of them will reject you. It can be for any stupid thing. And once you're rejected, there's no changing it. The judgment is written in stone. You are basically forever a douche bag in her eyes. This is how it works for nearly every girl. I don't think it's stereotyping, because at least for me, I've found it to be true. Even I do it when I meet new people. Everyone judges based on what they know...it's how we work as human beings. If you do things the right way, avoiding being judged, then you can easily have a great conversation and get to know her. And it works on almost every girl. And it's not just about sexual stuff...you can use it on everyone, and you'll get along better with them. You're right when you say, "there are all kinds of men and women with different needs and desires." Finding that out comes after you initially "pick them up". You can't get to know someone if they are closed off to you...so this is about opening them up. Not about deceiving them. I'm going to make up a new acronym. KTA (keep them artist). And I think this is where the real game is played. It's easy to get laid. But it's hard to find someone you can care about and relate with. It's hard to keep that going. I don't think learning about this kind of pick up stuff is counter productive to getting in a good relationship. I think it's interesting information that's useful to self development. For everyone...even girls. It's good to learn about how we function, as human beings. It's good to see what we do unconsciously, and bring it to the forefront...so that we can be better people to each other. Um yeah I don't know how to wrap this up, so ...

Yiannis, Yep I agree...but I disagree that we should say: I eat pork, because I don't think it's a big deal. There are more important things to concern ourselves with...but I'm not going to speak about what the religion is supposed to be. People who do that mislead others. Do you want to be one of them? Think about this: does it say anywhere in the New Testament, "you can now eat pork"? Nope. Where did this change come from, then? Not from Jesus. It's not a perfection of the law, but a loosening of it. When Jesus spoke of changes in the law, he always tended to make them more strict. So, who told you that it's true? Where did they get their info from?
-
This isn't a Christian forum or topic, but I disagree. The old laws weren't abolished when Jesus came. You might want to reread what Jesus actually said regarding this: Matthew 5:17-19 17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing those.

Cat's right. Also a lot of people tend to be more yang, so qi will rise more in them. You can go to an acupuncturist/herbalist and get treatments to have the qi flow normally, if you develop any negative symptoms. If you only feel qi flow up the spine, then I don't think it's a big deal...that's not really a negative symptom. Also, you can try different kinds of downward flow meditations. A couple that I like are: 1) Imagining that fresh fluffy snow is falling all around you slowly...kind of feel the snow as yourself at the same time. 2) Feel a big golden ball in your heart area, and feel it radiating its warm gold light down and out through your body. It helps to keep your hands down by your sides with this one, and the light will extend past them, kind of like you're wearing a robe. The texture of the light should feel syrupy. And this is imagined feeling...try to make it as real as possible.

Thank you, Mak Tin Si. That was very informative as well as interesting.

A sect of Taoism that Brings Fortune to all

Agreed. I'd be interested in learning this Fu healing, though! -
Nice. Pietro have you checked out "Magic Bullets"? It's probably the best book out there in my opinion. It specifically refers to the part where a girl is deciding whether she thinks you're a jerk or not, and deals with how to bypass that. It's based off of the mystery method. Seriously, it's the best. DYD is a joke in comparison. I'm not into this stuff anymore, though. Too lazy. Girls aren't worth the trouble. I don't care about the sex anymore, after breaking a few too many hearts, and perhaps becoming a bit more cultivated. And if I get a girl that I like, I'm not the type of guy who is going to be all into her and fit the role of the boyfriend or whatever. I am more like a warrior/hunter type dude who goes off to do his own thing, leaving her. Not for any other reason than I'm more interested in things...like making music, learning, doing qigong, exercising, or whatever else I'm into. I withdraw, and that's my nature...and that's not boyfriend material. So...I'm done.

I really don't think she'll change, no matter what. And she's pulling you into a trap. Going to AA with her would be unnecessary...she can't go by herself? Why is that? Because she needs you to suffer with her? Don't fall for it, man.

Well, in favor of bacon lovers... It's the eating of undercooked pork that causes this. And so does not washing your hands after going to the bathroom (or perhaps also touching someone's hand who didn't wash their hands). So although pork seems like not the best thing to eat, that isn't what this was about.

It seems to me like MichelleD was abused at one point. Just a hunch.

Yoda, I was told Shuichuan is compatible with any other practice as long as they're not done around the same time. Also, it seems that being in the Shuichuan state without moving is taught early on. I wasn't taught it yet. Here is a video of me on day 2 of my practice...a lot of kunlun movements still in there. Now they've settled, and I've started walking in a counter clockwise circle spontaneously...then allowing myself to fall when dizzy to ground the energy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSZXWb7hSCo Embarrassing. Also, I found this on the WKK forums.... So the energy from this practice should be the same as in Kunlun. Self manifested.

Respect for Taoist oral & lineage traditions
Aetherous replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
Funny story... A couple of years ago I was driving on a road trip listening to talk radio for some reason. All of a sudden the pope came on speaking his foreign language (forgot which one it is, sorry) and I had a kundalini awakening that was quite strong. I actually had to pull over to the side of the road til I felt normal again. -
Respect for Taoist oral & lineage traditions

Hi Ya Mu, I recently got your book from amazon...fun read. I'm really interested in stillness movement...may look into it later. I have respect for what works and what's true. I tend to not have respect for people's false beliefs and useless doctrine. The Taoist priest you're talking about seems to me to have some good things to share. Oh yeah...I'm truly interested in the lost Taoist medicine that has nothing to do with TCM, that you're referring to!! -
I just started the Shuichuan course. It's done standing up, which is a nice change of pace from kunlun. I'll keep ya'll updated on how it goes.

Ah I see...I take back what I said then.

Okay, I'm about half way through an athletic training program in college right now. I figure I should help out. Athletic training isn't personal training, like you see on tv or in a gym. It's not about training people for fitness or losing flab. These are the guys that work in sports medicine clinics, or work with pro athletes to prevent and treat injuries. It's more like a physical therapist... So some basics of stretching: stretch up to where it feels tense, then hold it there for at least 10 seconds. 30 seconds to a minute is good, too. Repeat like 5-10 times for each muscle group...you can go a little further as you keep stretching but don't push it. Don't bounce in the stretch. Don't do forward bends with your lower back. If you're bending forward, bend at the hip and allow the back to be straight. It can help to start out by sitting on the floor and touching your toes. But don't bend at the lower back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bend at the waist, and sit more on your sits bones or back upper thighs. Once again: don't bend at the low back. Stick your butt out. Check out this nifty website for good stretches: http://www.abc-of-fitness.com/info/fitness-exercises.asp Your sifu is a retard for pushing you guys to reach your toes. He might know about yichuan, but he obviously doesn't know about how to stretch. So listen to him about the things he actually knows, but don't just take his word for it and risk your own health because of something he doesn't understand. The risk for injury shouldn't exist in stretching. It should exist in martial arts competitions, skydiving, etc....but stretching isn't a contest, and it's not extreme.

Yup. It's true on a biological level. We can't help wanting the things we want. True. Same here, but I'm open. I think she's weird and I care for her.

I'd split the price with someone...PM me if you want to do that. I could have the stuff shipped to my place, check it out then ship it to you. Or vice versa. Otherwise, I emailed them to ask about purchasing Ocean Euphoric separately. The $20 cd was for Nurturance. Edit: I guess it's illegal to do that...so I will wait and see what they say about ordering just the cd itself. Nevermind.
