We are purifying and opening the body so that the energy of source can flow in us, awakening us on all levels. In my opinion more things can be very helpful but are not the main aspect of our practice. It's like if someone is a marathon runner: the shoes, the shorts, the gel glucose packets, the fancy water bottle...all of those things are helpful to have, but they could run a marathon without all of that. Running is about running. And Kunlun is about the combined effect of good K1/RP1 practice. Not the egyptian healing rods, gamma meditation cds, etc...although those things can make our "race to the finish" more comfortable and perhaps much faster.

I think that "Tower of the Spirit" passage is meant more for our own personal progress than judging someone. But I am willing to accept that not everyone will like Max. Just like not everyone will like who I am. No one is universally appreciated. There may be no decent reason for it, and it may be a misunderstanding on the parts of those that judge (we don't know what Max is thinking). It may be entirely based on feelings that they have about the person, which are filtered by their own view. If you want to Max bash I won't try to stop you...because my efforts will be fruitless. Everyone does what they do. I've said what I had to say (that Max is very generous, and a good teacher of these practices) and also: he has shared with me something which makes my life amazing...how could I not truly appreciate him? Just my view. So, it's all good, whatever people want to think.

I have no idea...I haven't seen anything strange. There isn't a kunlun worm inside of us. But there is a constant sensation of the transmission energy. Is there an off switch for it? Maybe not...so people should make the right choice when deciding if they want to practice this.

I haven't tried this on anyone else, but I've tried it on myself and I don't get the blisters appearing or even really any kind of red hand print unless it slap myself REALLY hard. What's impressive about this video is that the slap is quite soft. In fact it's probably the softest slap I've ever seen.

Mandatory? That's messed up! I've had flu shots and don't think it's a huge deal. From what I know: you are getting a slight virus to get your body used to it and develop antibodies against it, to prevent you against getting a serious case in the future. I'm of the opinion that this happens naturally, though, so I see no need for getting shots. Some people who have better immune systems don't need it. People should have the choice about how to treat themselves.

Apparently they're pretty expensive masks...heard about this through the kunlun forum, so that's why I used the word "apparently"...but I feel like I can trust the source of the info.

Took it to PM because I don't think I should be representing kunlun, since I don't know everything. Also, I don't want to be misleading people who are practicing it by giving my view, since everyone has their own way of opening.

I will get the book, but: what makes you think Isabelle Robinet, Julian Pas, and Norman Girardot have any clue about Shangching Pai? Maybe there are deeper things that these people weren't exposed to...like they got the beginner's/outsider's view? When I tell people I know about kunlun I give them a very simplistic answer and don't reveal much. Perhaps it was the same for them? The reason why I am supportive of the view that Sifu Lum is legit, is because the practices I know from Max are amazingly effective. But I'm open to the idea that it's not actually Maoshan stuff, and perhaps shouldn't be called that. At this point I'm really not convinced though. I tend to have the reverse view at the moment: that you YM have been taught Spanish and and told it was French, by these people who take the scholarly outsider approach. But like I said, I'll get the book and keep an open mind.

So Sifu Lum was lying in that he had anything to do with Mao Shan Taoism? I guess what I'd need to even begin to consider this is evidence supporting your argument. There isn't any in this thread...so why would people be open minded to your point of view?
